I have (tentative...I'll most likely change them if Hojo ends up having the AP/Ent. rate available for my trip dates) reservations at Clarion Anaheim for my trip in October. I got a great deal through AAA & am hoping it's not "too good to be true". Has anyone stayed there recently? How was it? My biggest question is, are the beds comfortable? Any pics of the rooms/grounds? The reviews on Tripadvisor are mixed; people seem to either love or hate the place...thought I'd ask my fellow Dis'ers for your opinions...

Thanks in advance!

I stayed for a few nights last year. It was perfectly adequate ;) not bad, not good. When I was there, we tried walking to the parks but it is really too far in my opinion. By the third day we could hardly walk. They have a shuttle. I think it's around $6.00. The only other bummer is that parking is expensive. When I was there last year it was $12.00 a day (the same as at Disneyland at the time), so it may even be more now. I got a deal on Expedia for $44.00 a night, so it worked for me, it is just quite the walk - 1.2 miles from the door of the hotel to the entry of the parks (using mapmyrun.com). Do that four times a day (to and from the parks in the morning and again after a break) and it really adds up!

ETA: I seem to remember that the beds were decent. I've stayed at Camelot and that bed was a rock, and remember Clarion being better!

We stayed there last year for the D23 Expo. I thought it was just fine - the beds and room were comfortable, though as I recall the bathroom seemed a little dated. It was quite a pretty long walk to the parks - but we only went over there once since we were really there for the Expo, and it was very convenient to the Anaheim Convention Center. The wireless internet worked ok but was rather slow. Didn't go to the pool area at all. I'd stay there again if I were going to something at the Convention Center, but for a DL trip I'd be looking for something closer to the parks.

IF you look on AAA's website they also had Cortona Inn for a pretty cheap rate!! I was surprised. It looks nice, but I have never stayed there so cant give a review. Just in case you dont want Clarion.

Thanks all for the info; good to know that the beds aren't :scared1: at the Clarion. I'll check into the deal on the Cortona, too, thanks!
