Clarification about Military Salute Tickets

I did search but don't see an answer to my specific question. The website says that the tickets may be purchased by the member (my husband) or spouse (me). Mousesavers states, "The military ID will be checked when the tickets are activated. Once the tickets are activated the group can split up." So does that mean I can activate them with my spouse i.d. or does the member have to be there? The Disney website says, " In addition, one of the six (6) Tickets purchased must be used by the Eligible Service Member or his/her spouse." which I think means it can be me and he doesn't have to be there.

I'm making this more confusing than it needs to be aren't I?

You have to be there for activation, but you can't activate for others. (So, you can't buy/activate for Aunt Sally who isn't going for 6 months.)

Between you and your spouse you can buy a total of 6 in a year. When first activated one of you has to go through the turnstile with the people using the other tickets and show your military ID. After the first initial walk in you don't have to go in with the other ticket again. For instance I'm going with my sister next month. I have an AP so I am getting my sister a ticket. We aren't going for 3 days only 2, so my sister can come back before the ticket expires in December and I don't have to be with her. Also because of my spouse's deployment schedule he is never with me when I go to DL. Only one person has to be there to show their Id.
