CL Poly - Do I still want to book Tomorrowland Dessert Party?

The combination of desserts and fireworks seem pretty good to me. I'm going back and forth between booking the party and holding off. We're going to be staying at Club Level on the Poly. We had a one night stay at the CL for the Contemporary before and their desserts were delicious. I know the Poly has desserts in the evening too, and I've heard the fireworks are pretty decent from the beach there. Would it be overkill to book the Tomorrowland party as well, considering we can pretty much do desserts/fireworks at the Poly? Or is it just that much more special to be up close? TIA. :)

you aren't that close at the dessert party - so would say cancel it - but the decision is yours.

why did you make the reservation for it? were you not staying at the Poly or doing CL?

We love staying Poly CL...1 more week..YEAH!! Anyway, a cast member told us that the dessert party is nice but an added expense and you are in a small area..if you are staying CL you will have access to the wonderful desserts, the chance to watch the fireworks from the club level area or the beach-away from the crowds at the park & the craziness of trying to get out of there...;)

I agree with the other posters! You'll have great desserts at Poly CL so I would want to take advantage of that personally. Of course it's your money so it's up to you :goodvibes

Is the dessert party only for CL guests? I was trying to find it on Disney's website and can't.

I wouldn't since you'll have desserts in the CL lounge, and can watch Wishes from there. It's kind of redundant.

I wouldn't. I've never done the party but I'd say club level view with those desserts is the way to see wishes.

We have never done the dessert party, but we HAVE watched Wishes from the area where the party is held. It is very close-up and off to the side. I prefer watching from further back to get the full effect of the panoramic fireworks. Personally, I'd much rather watch Wishes for "free" from the CL lounge at the Poly with a glass of wine (or the famous tropical punch) and some of the dessert offerings there. It's nice from the beach, too, but you've got the lounge, and you can hear the soundtrack better in the lounge.

I agree with everyone else. I actually prefer the Poly beach over the lounge, but either one is better than dealing with the crowds at Mk.

Actually the Poly is my favorite place to watch the fireworks BUT since you are staying 7 nights Poly CL I could see doing the Dessert Party one of those nights. When we are at the Poly for a week or more we are typically not at the hotel every evening but are there at least once (or more) for the fireworks view.

I really enjoy the Fireworks Dessert party. Its expensive but a nice splurge.

My family doesn't like to stand in crowds for fireworks so we've usually see them from a less desirable location, if at all. I saw a fireworks party in progress a few years ago and at first glance thought it was dumb and a money waste. But I thought more about it and we've been to 3 now. It works great for us! My dh enjoys it and he's usually looking to leave the park before fireworks :upsidedow

Last summer we stayed at Poly club and watched from the lounge one night and went to the party another night. I liked viewing from the party better than the lounge except for the quick trip to our room after :) We saw the preshow on the castle (fantastic) And of course there is much greater variety of desserts & fruits at the fireworks party :)

OP, I find the dessert party be a lot of money for only desserts. The location was where we and other families with small children or individuals in wheelchairs escaped the rude crowd on Main Street prior to the dessert venue. Maybe Disney saw my firworks pictures taken from this spot. People now pay for what was a location available to everyone. Only the locations along the rail and see the fireworks. Its not the best location, but a good location that was once free. We have also stayed for years at the PR - staying club level with the lagoon, now called MK View. It provides a distant view. It is not as intense as being on Main Street. The more the PR resort is disussed on boards the more people each year appear on the beach. Personally, I would stay at PR and take advantage of the club offerings. You can even hang out at the pool. Just get the plastic cups (especially if their still offering the punch) they offer at the club to head over to the pool (no glass containers) and also watch Wishes. Again, go to Main Street for intensity. Stay at Hawaii for relaxing time with pool, beverage and desserts.
