Hi Steph!

I am definitely HOPING to go to CKU Disney!

I have had my hotel reservations for WEEKS! Ever since I learned about it.

Of course, the chances of getting in are slim to none. They don't have many spaces, and sell out quickly. Indy sold out in less than an hour!!!!!

Since this is during the time we are going anyway...I will be there one way or another...even if not at the convention. Of course, I would probably have to change my hotel...as it would be too depressing to be there, and not be there!!!!

I would love to go but think I'll have to pass. DH and I will be at WDW through 6/6 but we'll have already spent a week there for a wedding. I just can't see extending my stay any longer.

I don't know if I could do CKU and WDW at the same time. They are both intense expeeriences! We were at the Magic Kingdom on my last birthday, and it was hard to remember it was my birthday. Kind of like trick-or-treating and hunting for Easter eggs at the same time! I'm afraid I wouldn't get enough out of each experience...

I went to CKU NE last June, in order to experience CKU fully, you would need to be able to concentrate completely on CKU, I do not think I could do that while at Disney, of course this is just my opinion.

To those who are planning on going, enjoy, it is a very intense experience. I had a blast!!!

I live about an hour and half from Disney, so I hope not to be distracted by Disney. I also don't plan on staying there, I hope I can still meet up with those from the board who get it. But most of all, I hope I can get in!

There is supposed to be a CKU in Canada this year also! I know because a member of my "dorm" at CKU NE is from Canada and when we went on our trip to Utah, Lisa B. mentioned CKU Canada. (one of my "dorm" members, one a scrapping trip to Utah with Lisa B. and she invited us to go with her, which was awesome, since we had only met at CKU.) We had so much fun, our dorm won the cheer contest and best overall dorm contest and Rachael won the trip to Utah.

CKU was so awesome, although preparations, classes and homework left NO TIME to sleep !!!

Pauline, I heard about CKU, it is being held in Vancouver which unfortunately is to far for me-whaaaaa, how come they can't come to the praries!!!!

What is CKU? Please inform the unenlightened I have a feeling DH is going to be sorry I found this part of the boards! He already said, well, I guess we will be buying another craft tote, huh? Hee hee hee!

I recently met one of the ladies that went to the last CKU . She said they were kept busy from morning till night. She said it was pretty intense but she learned so much. From the way she talked, there would not be time to have any sort of Disney experience. I also think that in order to have the CKU experience you would have to stay at the hotel and become part of one of the dorms.

CKU stands for Creating Keepsakes University. It is a seminar of classes put on the scrapbooking magazine, Creating Keepsakes. I have never been, but some on the board have.
