it went south of us so we missed it - wish for the rain but not the other stuff - heard one touch down in brownwood which is where DH is from but we don't know anyone from there anymore

hope everyone stays safe tonight

Sheila texted me at about 9:30pm EST and they are out of the cellar for now..
Sirens were blarring and spotters thought may be some rotation but not sure if anything was confirmed.. they are staying at the inlaws a while longer as there are more storms to the west.. then they will go home and check their house.

Continued prayers for all!!!

Just heard from Sheila @ 10:35EST. They are at home and are okay.

Continued prayers for all those affected by the tornados...

So glad to hear Reddy and Sheila are safe. Prayers for those involved in the rescue missions and needing rescue. How devastating everything looks in pictures. It brings me back to walking outside after Hurricane Andrew.

thank you for keeping us updated Nan!

so thankful Sheila and her family are safe! and Reddy's too!

have had a heavy heart hearing about those still missing, stirs up too many horrible memories for me.

continued prayers .......

As I went to bed last night I noticed IL was in a tornado watch.. wasn't an hour after that we were under a watch. I got up at 3AM for a quick check on the kids and as I got to the top of the stairs the sirens blasted... got all 3 kids down and in the basement. Small cell just south of us looked iffy. The kids said after seeing OK they were going to take the sirens more seriously now..

Continued prayers and pixie dust to all those affected..

Sheila, hope the rest of the night was calm.. Looks like this afternoon it is going to be hitting you yet again..

Continued prayers and pixie dust to all affected.

Sheila and Reddy glad to hear you are safe. Nan thanks for the updates and glad your family is safe too. Hugs all around :grouphug: The pictures are so awful! Prayers for all involved.

Good morning! Thanks for all the prayers and please continue to to pray for those in Moore. Everyone we know from that area is safe. Madison does have a friend from church camp who had 2 cousins in one of the schools hit. The last she heard yesterday was that one if the girls was in the hospital and the other was missing. I'm praying that all the missing kids are somewhere safe and just need to be reunited with family.

I'm so glad Reddy and Nan are safe!! Thanks to Nan for all the updates. I was doing a lot of texting while we were in the storm cellar. I wanted everyone to know where we were in case we needed to be dug out. If you have ever been underground in a small enclosed space with 7 adults, 5 kids, and 4 dogs, you will understand that feeling. It's a real testbof your mental health!

We are on the western edge of the severe weather risk this afternoon, so we will be watching the skies. To those east of us, please be careful and stay safe!

Please watch those skies Sheila...

Continued prayers and I hope Madison hears good news from her friends in regards to their cousins soon.

One thing I do when we have to seek shelter is like you Sheila.. I text a few friends and family..

Sheila, hope Madison's friends are found and okay

Nan, thankful you are okay after last night, a hard lesson for the kids to learn, need to listen to the warnings and be safe!

continued prayers for all, praying all are found and safe

Sheila, praying for you and your family. Hope there is no more bad weather your way this afternoon. I live in the Dallas area and we may have some severe weather this afternoon. Lived in Texas all my life. This is just part of spring in Texas.

Pam

Agreed Lisa. It was common practice til the last year or so sirens went off for severe thunderstorms as well as tornados... It became so common for the sirens to sound that no one thought much about them going off...

Now they have changed the sirens to just go off at tornado warnings so everyone is more alert and moves to shelter quickly now...

I reminded my boys today that if they were to go into "wind drill" they are to take a heavy book with them to place over their necks to try to help prevent injury. I need to follow up with PJ what they do at the apartments on campus for next year.. I know her apartment is on the second floor. One good thing is their campus (and I am sure most do this) has an alert that notifies the kids and the parents (parents have to sign up but I would rather know what is going on at the same time she does). she does text when she goes to shelter and tells me where she is and who is with her...

Checked in with Sheila about an hour ago. They are doing okay... had some storms earlier today. She said cell/internet service are spotty so she isn't checking in much. She asked to make sure everyone was doing okay.. I told her we were doing good and to let us know if she needed anything or takes shelter at any point.

Glad to hear all is well with Sheila. Hopefully this weather pattern will ease soon.
