I went last year and stayed overnight with my then DD9 but this year I'm thinking of just going for the day on either Thursday or Friday to shop and do the make 'n takes.....anyone else from here going?

I am going this year, but not staying over. Only going up on Friday taking 4 classes and checking out the floor.

I'm going too...with my MIL...I don't know if it will be Friday or Saturday...:confused3

Mom and I are going and taking a bunch of classes (my Mother's day present to myself and Mom )

Have fun y'all! I wish I could be there, I'll actually be close by but it's my grandma's 80 th birthday that weekend. Big surprise party!

I'm going but staying with my sister who lives 20 minutes away. Taking 3 classes on Thursday, 1 on Friday and 1 on Saturday. Left plenty of time to browse and shop the vendor faire.

I think I'm going on Friday, mostly to shop and replenish.

A question for those of you who have gone before. Are the classes beginner friendly? I'm fairly new to scrapbooking. I've completed two. But the technical stuff I read about scares me sometimes. I have the small cricut, but haven't used it yet (more due to lack of time to sit and read the directions), but want to start using the cartridges I spent a fortune on. :rolleyes1

I guess I worry about signing up for a class and feeling like an idiot cause I don't know what to do. :confused3

Hi Tek224 I've gone to the CKC ever since they started coming to VF. If you look at the class descriptions they tell you if they are for beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. The classes vary depending on who is giving it. Some are very layed back and others move along quite quickly. Some you will finish the project before the end of the class and others you finish on your own later. In any case the instructor walks around and assists in the techniques and usually has two helpers that assist too. If you find a class that interest you go ahead and take it. You'll be with other crafters and usually everyone is willing to assist. - Karen

I am a little sad. I have gone every year CKC has been at Valley Forge...but I can't go this year. It is the trade off for the Disney trip. Can't do it all...or so I am told! LOL

Just over a week let until the CKC. getting excited, but only going for the day on Friday.

4 days to go!!!

My Dd10 is making her shopping list since she says that she's tired of "sharing" so she wants lots of paper that she' picked out not me :lmao:

I'm hoping to see if we could take a class or two if they have any available and of course, we'll be doing every make 'n take that we can just like we've done in years past :rotfl2:

Going with a friend for the first time (usually alone en route to a reunion in the poconos) - just for shopping Friday but I'm happy with that! Hope it's a good show - last year a lot less vendors but it was good.

Anyone have any info on vendor coupons or any early morning specials for Friday?

Thanks

maria

I'll be going Friday, too. I've only been once before. How do you find out who's doing the "make and takes"?

:)Last year I remember that Quick Quotes, Boxer, the acrylic album vendor and about 5 others did mak 'n takes.

Since I'm going on Thursday - I'll post the list when I get back that evening :)

Hi everyone! I'll be there this weekend. I'm only signed up for the crops each night and I might make it to the vendor faire on Saturday. I'll look for a LGMH when I'm there and hope to join whoever is there.

I went, I looked, and boy, did we shop :lmao:

This CKC's Vendor Faire is much bigger than last years and it was great. My DD10 made about 10 make 'n takes and loved every minute of it! I didn't buy as much as I have in years past but mostly because I'm really trying to stick to my scrapbooking budget.

Here are some of the vendors (for those that live in the area and want to "stop" by :rotfl:) and some of my comments:

Accent Scrapbooking - acrylic; great make 'n take for $5
AthroughZnames - never made it there
Awesome Albums - great ribbons, now have little kits
Best Craft Organizer - didn't need any so I just briefly looked
Bo-Nash - ok
Boxer Scrapbooks - love their embellishments; had the extra large ric-rac
Button Farm - good
Cardstock Warehouse - lots of people there; sold cardstock by the pound
Clear & Simple Stamps - didn't stop
CTMH - didn't stop
Club CK - didn't stop
CK Subscription - I really didn't like the lady there who kept shouting at the attendees about subscribing - thanks but no thanks
CreekBank - lots of BoBunny
Digital Scrapbook Teacher - stopped; interesting but not into it (yet)
Dillon's Laser - ok; my DD bought a couple of things; not my style
Dollar Scrapbooking - it; I was able to find some older embellishments that LSS don't have any more
Embellish It - has the new Basic Grey; but they raised their prices from last year, now a sheet cost $.90 or more and I just decided to wait for a couple of months to see when online stores have sales
Eyelet Outlet - need I say more
Gule n go - ok
Got Memories - didn't stop
Heartfelt Creations - good convention special
Heartstring Designs - good make 'n take
Keller's Creations - ok
Kinnon Keepsakes - can't remember
Let's Party Hearty - didn't stop looked like more party invitees forms which could be used for layouts
Lickety Split Scrapbooks - good kits
Melissa Frances - love her stuff - more romantic vintage
Memory Lane - didn't stop since I go to their store
Motivet Rubberstamps, Monthly Memories, O'Scrap, & the Original Scrapbox - can't remember
The Paper Loft - good paper
Paper Wizard -didn't buy anything
Pazzles - didn't stop
Pioneer Albums - they had some albums on sale - DD bought one
PK Glitz - loved their butterfly make 'n take (FREE)
Purple Daisy Design - stamps
Quick Quotes - great make 'n take (as always) for $5
The Red Bee - can't remember
Rubber Cafe - stamps
Scherenschnitte - love their stuff especially for wedding, christenings, etc
Scrap It Simple - ok
Scrapbookpal - good prices
Scrapbook 'n Stickers - them; had Cosmo Cricket line, 30% off show special; clip board make 'n take for $5
Scrapbuck - great prices; both DD, her friend & I spent money there
Scrap-Mart - ok
Scrapper's Friend - ok; didn't need anything since already have
SEI - big booth; two-page make 'n take for $5;
Shoestring - can't remember
Simply Stitched - great kits; stayed there a while talking to owners about Galapagos trip; good prices
Spellbinders - already have it; just stopped to say hi
Stamping Fools - didn't stop
Stamping Station - same make 'n take as last year; new die cuts
The Stencil Collection - tile make 'n take for $2; my DD loved it; good show specials
Storytellers Club - kits
Strickly Scrapbooking - good embellishments
Tattered Angels - Jen Starr, wonderful artist, teacher & scrapbooker was demoing the wonderful Glimmer Mist; yep, spent $$$ here
Technique Tuesday - had past class kits for sale
Tessler Stamps
Want2Scrap - great ribbons; bling for $1.00
WoodwareUSA - some usual embellishment but they were in a dark corner and got overlooked ALOT
Your Scrap Source - discounted SEI; very crowded booth!

Hope everyone that goes today & tomorrow has fun.

I only did Boxer Palozza which I love getting free goodies and this was a lecture type class as opposed to a hands on class. The Greatest & Latest class which I really wanted to take, I didn't because I really didn't like their layout. I wished I would have taken the Quick Quotes class but I'm hoping that they'll have the kits online soon:laughing:

Went to Vendor Faire today and did some serious shopping. I had a blast - had a friend with me and got some really cute things. Only one make n take but used the idea from another to get some things I'll do for Christmas presents. If only I had time to work on these projects right now!

I went today, too. Didn't take any classes. Maybe next year, I'll be brave and register for classes.

It took me about 3.5 hours to get through the Vendor Faire. I bought a bunch of stuff, mainly embellishments and specialty paper.
Really liked ScrapBuck, ScrappersFriend and Want2Scrap. Also got a couple names at AthroughZnames.

One thing I got new was the kit to make the mosaics. It really caught my eye, so I'm gonna try it and see how I do.

Another thing I saw that was interesting (but I didn't buy it) was the booth that had scrapbooks that used velcro instead of posts/straps. It looked really easy to add pages without having to unscrew the posts. I did get the woman's card and I may look at them on-line in the future. The cost was $39 for the book and I had already blown my budget by the time I saw this.

Now that I bought everything, I just have to sit down and get to work!
