Official twitter account just sent out an update that CW will now close at 7 today instead of 10. With the curfew at 10p for all of Orlando now, does anyone know why the change? Weather?

It's been like this for the past week. It's because of the protests that have been going on. Orlando has a curfew of 10 with downtown Orlando being 8

Okay, but Mayor said tonight downtown's curfew is 10p. Plus, UO twitter account tweeted this morning it was closing at 10p today and then about an hour later they tweeted the change.

Then they made a mistake (hence the retraction). But even before Downtown curfew was at 8 City Walk had been closing at 7 anyway as the city as been 10pm curlew since the protest started. Someone probably jumped the gun and misunderstood the mayor's announcement.

Thank you. Any ideas when it may open later? Staying at RPR next weekend and wondering where we'll be able to eat after 7p.

I'm guessing whenever the 10pm curfew is lifted in Orlando. They close early so the employees can get home safely.

Talked to an employee at one of the hotels, they said he's been a pulled over a few times leaving work because it was after curfew, and had streets near his place of living blocked and had to turn around and find another route because of the protests.

Got it...so the 7p closing time is curfew contingent, not part of the reopening guidelines?
Any local word on when the 10p curfew may end?

Correct, City Walk was closing at 10 before the protests started.

No idea. The mayor just lifted the downtown today. So whenever some of the protests get smaller in numbers I'm guessing. We've had some really bad weather past 2 days (tornadoes have touched down, etc) but that hasn't seem to deter the protesters

Thank you for the knowledge.

I am in the same boat! Going next weekend and crossing my fingers the curfew is gone by then....not sure what we’re supposed to do once the parks close. We will already have plenty of swimming time.

I wonder if the hotel restaurants are A) open at all and B) do they stay open past 7?

We are staying at Royal Pacific - I just called and they said all dining is open and has normal hours. Only difference is that seating is more spaced out. Not sure where you are staying, but I am sure all Universal Resorts are operating the same way.
Good news!

RPR! Thanks. We may be the only ones eating there after 7p, so I'm sure we'll cross paths!
What about pool hours?

What were the CityWalk hours before this whole mess occurred? And as time passes and since it's the summer, are we "assuming" the hours will go later as long as things continue to do better on the virus front?

Last year when I went in September, City Walk closed at 2 am.

Quite a few of the eateries closed at midnight.
