We go to Disney every year and have been planning on checking out Universal. There is me, DH, DD 8, and DD 3. We've decided that due to height restrictions on the 3 year old we're not going to spend $500 on trying out Universal this year, we'll wait another year or two. My question is, can we still go over to Citywalk? Is it open to people not going to the Universal parks? Does it charge an admission?

There is a parking fee of $15 per day, and I think some kind of cover charge for doing the clubs at night, but otherwise no, there is no cost for CityWalk.

There are some really lovely restaurants in Citywalk, and if your kids like minigolf.......the new one there looks really good :thumbsup2

Parking goes down to like $3 at 6PM for CityWalk, which is reasonable. Besides great restaurants, a fantastic Universal gift shop, and the Hollywood Drive in minigolf, CityWalk has a great movie theater with 20 screens and a good bar. You can actually get the best value for beer at any theme park here with a huge 32 oz draft beer for $5 that has refills for $3.

City Walk is a big free-entry outdoor area with many restaurants, night clubs and similar places. Many places are themed and have a lot of memorabilia in their lobbies to look at. There are also 2 new mini golf courses, a movie theater complex and various other lesser diversions. The two Universal theme parks have their entries at either end of City Walk. Speakers send out music everywhere. Some nights there are live bands playing on a stage. You can spend anywhere from 1 to 4 hours wandering around depending on whether or not you want to eat there, play golf or see a movie. Other than paying for parking (if you drive there and park), you really don't have to spend a cent.

To go to Citywalk before 6pm you would have to pay the regular $15 parking charge since you are parking in the same parking garages to attend the theme parks. From 6pm to 10pm the charge is $5 and free if you're a Florida resident, after 10pm it's free for everyone. The only dates that would change these parking fees would be during Halloween Horror Nights ,where they would charge full price later into the night.Premier and Preferred passholders get free parking as well.

After you park you would walk into Citywalk which is everything between the parking garages and the 2 theme parks. There's a lot of restaurants,a multi screen movie theater, several clubs and stores, the new miniature golf place and the Blue Man group show.
