Just a quick review here because I loved it so much! Citricos is certainly a hidden gem at WDW.

DH and I had a child-free night and enjoyed a wonderful meal at Citricos on 12/11. We arrived at the GF a little early, so we sat and had drinks at Mizner's Lounge. I had a Kir Royale, DH had the Agave Margarita. Both delicious.

Nancy from upstate NY was our server at Citricos. Very friendly, but not intrusive. I had a Citricos Bellini -- champagne (might have been prosseco) with pureed peaches and raspberries. DH had a version of a martini that had lemoncello in it. Yummy to both!

Apps: DH had the tuna carpaccio, I had the arancini. Thumbs up.
Entrees: DH had the filet, I had the wild bass w/butternut squash risotto (don't ask -- not sure why I had two risotto dishes!). Again, thumbs up.
We each enjoyed the wine pairings offered with the entrees
Dessert: DH had the chocolate banana cake, I had seasonal berries with sabayone. Out of this world.

The restaurant was maybe half full. It was quiet, we were allowed to savor our meal and linger as long as we wanted. There were maybe 2-3 familes with children (our ressie was at 8:10) and they were all well-behaved.

Sorry for not taking any pics! I just wanted to share what was a memorable night. I hope many of you have the same magical experience.

Oh yeah! The best part! On our way back to SSR, we got on the monorail, and had the driver come and ask us if we wanted to sit up front!!! Hell yeah! Got an amazing view of Illuminations, the castle, and the lagoon resorts at night. Talk about a magical ending :wizard:

DH and I really want to try a new place on our upcoming trip. We can't decide between Citricos or Jiko. Both seem to get such amazing reviews. We only have one "Adult Only" evening, and it just is so difficult choice.

Friends of ours had an amazing meal at Jiko as well -- I don't think you can go wrong with either! We had dinner with our girls, my parents and brother (all on this trip) at Boma which we enjoyed. AKL is an impressive resort in and of itself, worth a visit even if you don't eat there. Enjoy your trip!

DH and I had breakfast at Boma and loved it and the AKL. We also snuck in to Jiko to check it out. It was really a nice restaurant. Very elegant! We're pretty adventurous eaters and so we probably will try Jiko. That and we found the GF beautiful, but a bit stuffy. DH won't even stay there. We, unfortunately, encountered some pretty rude guests the last time we went to Narcoossee's. The food was great, but the atmosphere, just a bit too "upity".

Can I ask where exactly Citrico's is located in the GF? I remember that when we were waiting to be seated at Vic and Al's, there was another restaurant right there as well? I think it was Naracossee's though.

I'm glad you enjoyed your meal. Sounds wonderful. And what a wonderful ending to your night with the monorail and Wishes!

Citricos is indeed the restaurant right beside V&A's. Narcoossee's is down by the water, not in the main building. :thumbsup2

Don't tell everybody about my favorite restaurant...... I like being able to get a ressie easily! :rotfl2:

I just had to chime in about Citrico's. My husband and I had a Vow Renewal at WDW recently and we hosted a rehearsal dinner for about 20 people at Citrico's. I can't say enough about the fabulous job they did for us. We had a customized menu with a series of appetizers, a salad, and then our guests picked from 4 main courses. (No dessert, we were having a "Wishes" dessert party after the dinner.) I also chose a red and white wine to be poured for our guests. Citrico's printed personalized menus for us which was a nice keepsake. The service and food were fantastic!

Hi Michele,

Did you think Citricos was snobby? I'd love to try it but I want to feel comfortable and not out of place.

Hi Michele,

Hi summersalt,

I did not feel that Citricos was snobby at all! Everyone was very gracious, and our server was a lovely woman. I wore dark jeans w/a blouse & black shoes, DH wore his "good jeans", a button-down & Merrells, and we felt very comfortable. There was a table of women much more dressed up than we were, but more of the patrons seemed to be business casual in attire.

We've dined in a few snooty places in NYC and in CT that we would not return to because of the stuffiness. Citricos was very relaxed and the staff made us feel at ease and ensured that we had an enjoyable meal.

Enjoy your trip! Let us know how you like it! :goodvibes

PS - We also loved the Turf Club, another relaxed atmosphere. But it's out at SSR, a hike from most ends of WDW.

Thanks for sharing. I have a ressie for 2/13 and I keep waffling....I think I will stick with it. :)

Thanks, Michele. Your review has been very helpful. My husband and I are using the DxDP this trip and plan 4 signatures. I think we'll do Jiko, Citricos, Calif Grill and Flying Fish unless I change my mind again!
We are more the fun-loving type than the stuffy type. Sounds like we're gonna really enjoy Citricos.

We dined at Citricos on Dec 30th with a business associate and his wife who happened to be at disney at the same time. We enjoyed the evening as it was quiet and relaxing. The food was terrific. Plan on going back again our next trip. This was our first time there and went on recommedations from this board.

We had planned on bringing our 4 and 6 year olds with us. They are very good at restaurants. But after reading these posts, I am wondering about the length of the meal. Maybe they would be better off at the kids club. And if so should we take them to the GF where Citricos is or the Neverland Club @ the Poly where we are staying.

Hi! I just want to pop by and say I am glad to see other people loving Citrico's! We just returned from a 7 night stay in WDW on the Dlx DP. Our last night we dined at Citrico's. Originally I had us at Narcoose's, but later changed to Citrico's (long story, DH got rather ill during vacation, poor guy, but at least we got to share a beautiful meal together as a family on the last night). I am planning on writing a review later, but let me tell you, it was WONDERFUL!! Seriously, this is a hidden gem. I hardly read anything about the place when doing research over 6 months ago. We took our 3 yo DD, it was great! It wasn't as long as our dining experience at Cali Grill (which was OVER 2 hours...way too long), maybe about 1 1/2 hrs. if that. And, we got to see the fireworks from our table! Gorgeous good, spectacular service. They are great with kids. We actually went late, around 9 p.m. She was really good the whole meal and they catered to her. Get the eclair dessert for the kiddos. Amazing stuff. Highly recommend the filet. Whenever we return to the World, Citrico's will be high on my list!! We will return! Go and enjoy!:thumbsup2
