Trying to decide between Citricos and Artist Point for a nice solo dinner...ive eaten at pretty much all the other signature restaurants and want to try something new...only have it in the budget for one of these meals...paying OOP...im thinking Artist Point will be more quiet/intimate for a solo diner?

Actually, those are about the only two places where I haven't eaten solo yet. I just have one comment. If you choose Artist Point, they might give you a nice window table. If they do, please take some time to appreciate the view. When DH and I were there, there was a solo whom they'd given a beautiful windowside table too. Yet, whenever I looked over, her nose was buried in a book. I guess it particularly bothered me because we weren't by the window, and I really envied her such a lovely spot. Whenever I'm solo, I always take time to appreciate my surroundings if there's something to appreciate!

I've eaten at both places and both are great choices. If I were eating solo, I would pick Artist Point. I felt it was a quieter place and the staff was more attentive. It just seemed more relaxed. I wouldn't feel odd eating there solo.

Both are currently my two favorite signatures - excellent food quality and service at both, and I've eaten at them within the past week. I dined at Citricos solo and it was fine, although the host tried to encourage me to sit at the bar. But I think either would be a fine choice. Perhaps I'd pick AP and enjoy the peaceful music and views of the waterfall and forest.

Thanks everyone! I may decide to go with AP for all the reasons noted above...just seems more relaxing and serene...I would LOVE to get a nice window spot too ...overlooking the little rocks/waterfalls in the courtyard

plus that cobbler looks to die for!!

if $ allows I may still squeeze in citricos but i'll do AP for sure...thanks!

When I've been to Artist Point lately it has been full of families and was neither quiet nor serene. Try a later reservation. I'm getting so I prefer just going to the Territory Lounge.

I agree with the last poster regarding AP. The restaurant can be quite noisy with young families especially when the kids get antsy.

If I was traveling solo, I'd choose Citricos over AP in a heartbeat. I hate going to restaurants expecting quiet and being disappointed and I really do like the ambiance of Citricos.

You will get all kinds of advice here. Just go with your gut. No matter what you do, enjoy!!

I ate at both solo on my trip in May. AP was much better than Citricos which is sad because Citricos has always been one of my favorites.

I think AP- I think Citricos is a little busier and we've had more loud neighbor experiences there than at AP. Enjoy the view!

I routinely eat at both AP and Citrico's solo, and both have their perks - AP for the fabulous view (outside and in - the architecture and murals are gorgeous), and Citrico's for, well, the fabulous view (the kitchen!).

Either way, for the most quiet experience (and IMO, the most attentive service, though neither of these places has shoddy service by any means!), try to book for the first reservation slot. Yes, this means eating dinner at 5:30. However, you are often the ONLY table for that server for 20-30 minutes, so they have a great opportunity to go through the menu, field any questions, etc. before the place starts to get a bit more crowded.

You really can't go wrong with either... Enjoy! :)

We've never eaten at Citricos, but we loved Artist Point :thumbsup2. I agree with the pp to make the first seating time right when they open. When we ate there in December, we had a 5:30 ADR and it was very quiet the entire time we were there :goodvibes. The restaurant did start to fill up as we were finishing up and leaving, but it didn't seem too terribly noisy ;).
