When booking reservations, there are alot more openings for Citricos then Narcosse's. I originally booked Narcosse's but saw so many rave reviews for Citricos', so I changed from Narcosse's. When I go on the wdw site to make reservations there is an opening around the 6:00 hour for almost every day for Citricos but no openings for Narcosse's. Is Citricos' a much bigger restaurant? Just wondering. Thanks, Linda

Yes, Citricos is significantly larger than Narcoossees.

Personally I think the food is much better at Citricos but you will find a lot of folks around here who rave about Narcoossees because they can get overpriced surf-n-turf with the dining plan or because it's become a secondary location to CA Grill for viewiing fireworks while having dinner. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely location, but in our house we choose a restaurant based on the quality of the food and menu rather than on whether or not we might see fireworks while eating.

We want food so good it makes us see fireworks where there aren't any! :rotfl2:

I think it is bigger, have eaten at both places and they both are :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 so much that I am doing them bother agai when I got back in Dec. :santa: I can't wait :cool1:

I am not sure how the DIS can serve as an indicator of the tastes of most WDW visitors, it's a small group who post here when placed against the numbers of those visiting WDW at any given time.

Narcoosees also is the restaurant that serves lobster. It is, in fact the only Disney restaurant, and the only restaurant on the dining plan, that serves a lobster entree. That might push its popularity up a bit.

I also caution against choosing your restaurants based on the reviews. Choose the restaurant that has the menu most appealing to you.

I think Narcossee's is more popular owing to it's broader appeal. It has a pretty tame menu compared to other signatures, some folks just don't like "fancy" food.

Citricos is a better restaurant, and frequent visitors know this, hence the DIS bias.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Citricos is "a better restaurant." Remember, this is subjective, so it's not really possible to give a definitive response.

My wife LOVES Narcoossee's and absolutely had to have a reservation for our upcoming trip. I would have been fine with dropping it for Citricos, although I look forward to the almond encrusted cheesecake!

If you asked 100 people who have dined at both which is the better restaurant, 80% of them would say Citricos. Citricos is rated higher by any guide book you pick up or any other restaurant ranking list you read.

I feel comfortable saying that Citricos is a better restaurant.

I have dined at both on several occasions and enjoyed my meals at both restaruants. I love the crab crusted halibut at Narcoossees and the shrimp appetizer at Citrico's. I talked to the waiter at Citrico's on my last visit and he told me if I like the Shrimp so much, they would serve it over pasta as an entree. I plan to do that soon.

As the previous poster pointed out. Citricos is larger than Narcoosees. One thing that has not been mentioned is that many people reserve Narcoossees so that they can view the fireworks while they dine. There is not a view of he fireworks from Citricos.

I agree that you should look at the menu and decide which restaurant based on what you like to eat.

We have been to both places more than once, and we prefer Citrico's. We don't do dining plans and we typically eat before the fireworks, but neither one of those really play into our decision. The times we have eaten at Narcoosee's we just felt sort of "eh" about the whole thing - food, service, etc.

Very well said and I agree with Brenda!

That being said we are eating at both of them in November, Citrico's for our anniversary because the food is out of this world fantastic and Narcoossee's because we have not tried it yet and my goal is to try all the restaurants at WDW :rotfl:

Citrico's is bigger and in my opinion, better. It's also (usually) more "quiet" than Narcoossee's.
As has already been noted, Narcoossee's generates a lot of business based on the ability to view the fireworks from the restaurant.

We've been to both (ma and kids now 11 and 6 but maybe at the time were 9 and 4 and then again at 10 and 5) and we like them both. I think Citricos was more upscale in atmosphere than Narcoossees. The food was great at both and both were great for both me and the kids.

92.73518% of statistics are made up on the spot. ;)

I just don't think it's valid to make that assertation and state it as fact, especially when you consider that universal truth isn't measured by mass appeal.

My wife would disagree with your opinion, while I would agree. Neither of us is wrong. :)

I have personally never ate at Citricos so I can't comment on it. I will say that for a simple country boy from Kentucky, when I compare the two menus I recognize a lot more at Narcoosses than I do at Citricos.

We have ate at Narcoosses the last two trips and absolutely love it. We are planning on trying Citricos on one of our upcoming trips.

I've eaten at Citricos, and will be eating at Narcoossee's this coming January. Looking at the menus, I'd much rather go back to Citricos, but my family wants to see fireworks. I had a lamb dish last January at Citricos that was amazing. And, I don't normally eat lamb. The waitress was so attentive to my son and his lack of interest in the food. He was 10, so ordering off the adult menu. She made him a special sauceless steak and then got him mac and cheese and fries off the kids menu.

For the PP who enquired about the view at Citrico's--there is not much of a view. There are windows along one wall of the restaurant. The view is mainly of other buildings at GF and some gardens. There is no view of the fireworks, or of any water as far as I recall.

I like Citricos much better but I don't think it is more popular than Narcoossees. I actually think Narcoossees is much more popular. I also think a lot more people like that and Citricos is one of those hidden gems that people don't really know about (besides this board). Also for the fact that Narcoossees has lobster, which is very good, and it is included in the dining plan could have something to do with it too. & I think it appeals to more families than Citricos.

No... you are wrong. If you are married, you should know that by now... the DH is ALWAYS wrong. But we DHs can silently agree that Citricos blows Narcoosees out of the water!

Actually, I think both are nice... hard to compare because the restaurants are different... upscale restaurant in beautiful lobby vs. pretty good seafood place with views of the water and fireworks (if walk out on the deck). Truth is... one can dine at Citricos and still go outside and watch the fireworks... or even better... take the boat or walk to the Polynesian and watch the fireworks from the beach there!

We like Narcoossees a lot..we LOVE Citricos...Our absolute must do when we go...Sometmies twice!

Narcoosee is better in the sense of the fireworks viewing...Citrico's in my opinion, has a more "intimate" feel to it. (and better cuisine)

you can't go wrong with either, but we prefer Citricos to Narcoossees any day :thumbsup2
