Planning ADR for August (I know I'm way too far in advance for the new 90 day rule) and want a great place for a romantic dinner for 2 for our last night. We are on the dining plan and I have narrowed it down to Citricos or Narcoossee's. Anyone who has been to both want to give me some advice? Or if someone is truly passionate about another of the signature dining experiences and wants to talk me out of my choices, feel free to post suggestions as well (we are going to Brown Derby in the middle of the trip with family)

Out of the 2 I would choose Nacossees as it is more romantic, especially if you pick a time when the fireworks and the pageant are on. Citricos is too busy and we personally did not like the food as much.

Ultimate for me would be Jikos in AKL as this is more quieter and fantastic food. Surround is very romantic.

Have fun choosing:thumbsup2

My Favorite is "The California Grille" at the top of The Contemporary Resort. If you can get "Chef's Seating" (Kitchen Seating) anywhere, even better. As for either one of your choices, you can't go wrong with either. My suggestion would be to check the menu for each restaurant before you make your final decision. Most Romantic = Victoria & Albert's

I hope others say Citricos is most romantic because we have an ADR there for our anniversary in April!

Citrico's has a more casual upscale feel to it, but not necessarily romantic. But I have to say I felt the food was much better at Citrico's than my experience at Narcoosee's.

To be fair, I should give Narcoosee's another shot, but I would pick Citrico's.

I think as far as romantic atmosphere goes, both Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge have that vibe. I feel that both Artist Point and Jiko can be romantic.

Been to both. Both are really great. I think in my opinion Citrico's is a notch better. But like I said you can't go wrong with either.

I love both restaurants. I think Citrico is a little better but not more romantic.

Narcoossee's is very romantic. My wife and I went last year. Service was wonderful, always there but never hovering. The meal was wonderful (California Grill is my favorite). While we were having diner the lights went down and music started to play. It's was "Wishes". We could see the Fireworks from our seat. I had no idea but I let my wife think I planned it. Great coffee, French Press, but we didn't have room for desert (I'm 6'2" and 260lbs) we were full. We took the boat to MK (the long way via Poly) :thumbsup2

Been to both many times and we would pick Citricos. We think the food is better and it generally has a bit more of an adult feel. There are lots of families dining at Narcoosees and with the wooden floors, the place can be quite noisy.

IMO I think Citricos is way more romantic. I thought the Narcoossee's was loud and had a lot more of the kiddies running around and crying. Maybe I was there on a bad night :confused3
I love Citricos' food and atmosphere. I find it to be a bot more upscale in comparison to Narcoossee's. Both are great restaurants, but if I had to choose between the two for a romantic dinner, I would go with Citricos :thumbsup2

Yeah, really! Citrico's reminds me of the V&A. It's way more romantic than Narcoocee's. Not even close. The food is better as well.

they are both fabulous. you need to just pick one for yourself. some peopel say one of the other has loud kids etc. but in all my times at both palces I ahve seen VERY few children. I ahve had great experiences at both, so you can't go wrong! I have had better service at Citricos but I think the food at Narcoossees edges out citricos!

Both are really good. Citricos is probably slightly above in food quality, but you should look at the menu's at allearsnet and pick what appeals to you. We don't eat any seafood and enjoyed Narcoosee's. Both have nice atmosphere, Narcoosee's has a nice view of the bay, Citrico's has a view of GF pool area. If you're open to suggestion, best restaurant we've been to on property is definitely Jiko and DBF is an extremely picky eater. That's actually the only signature we are going to do on our next trip. Last year we did DxDP so we ate at a signature almost every night.

Just celebrated my 40th birthday at Narcoosees. I think this may just be the best place on property. The service and food were outstanding. It was very romantic and you cant beat the view of the fireworks and water parade. It was just fantastic.

Not to be :offtopic: , but I too am considering Narcoosee's over Citrico's for our next trip, primarily for the fireworks view. Question...Does Narcoosee's have an outdoor seating area by the bay?

there is a deck you can stand out on. or, you can eat, then walk over the the marina in front of gasparills to watch. they have tables and chairs.

Nope, all indoors. IMHO, fireworks are best while standing on Main Street, near the hub. If I had to pick a viewing spot at the monorail resorts, it would be the beach at the Polynesian. I don't think the restaurants are a good choice, not even the sought after California Grill.

Wow - this is making it awfully tough - thanks for all the info...I have consulted the menus of both so many times over the past month on allears.net that I have them pretty much memorized...now you folks have inspired me to also throw Jiko onto the mix...hmmmm. BTW I am totally a fireworks snob, and really only want to ever see Wishes right from the end of Main Street between Caseys and the Hub...I have watched it from many places over the years but have decided this is my fav spot...so I'm more insterested in the food and dining experience that the fireworks...will definitely be eating earlier then heading over to see Wishes right on Main Street...it's my "last night" tradition...makes me cry every time...lol

We have eaten all all the resort restaurants many time and all are good depending on what you are looking for, IMHO. Citrico's for a more quiet, adult atmosphere and menu. Narcoosee's has good seafood but is more family oriented and definately louder. California Grill has great food and a trendy atmosphere but can get a little noisy.... however, it does have the best view of the fireworks at MC.

I'll put my two cents in for the Yachtsman over at YC. The food was to die for, the atmosphere was very nice and our server was quite possibly the best server ever. I realize the experience differs based on the night, but it's the best dining experience we've had at Disney.
