Ate at Citricos several years ago and I enjoyed it. Taking family out for a special dinner and haven’t heard or read much about it lately.
Anyone been lately? Is it still good as it was

Previously, was not a fan. We were there in October and it was one if the best meals of our trip. It is on our list for dining this fall. The food and service were top notch.

Visited earlier this year. Appreciated the food and our server, but not the decibel level. It felt like we were eating in an expensive, loud cafeteria. Left disappointed and more stressed than we should have been for the price point.

Our family was there less than a month ago. The food and service is great. It's a beautiful room. It's not tough to get a reservation.

Similarly, we are also big fans of the Flying Fish - which is comparable ... in case you're looking for an alternative. There is NO better steak is ALL of Disney World than the steak at the Flying Fish (my opinion).

One thing that's enjoyable at Citricos is walking around GF after dinner, and getting a cocktail at the Enchanted Rose.

Enjoy!

We love Flying Fish as well. Will be staying at the Grand so it’s nice to be able to have a resort day. Ate there when they first opened and enjoyed it a lot just haven’t been there in a while

Ok so ate there many many moons ago. . . like 15 plus. weren't impressed but that is also when Cal Grill was the old menu and place. After the redo and covid passed I said I want to go back. Great meal. A awesome service. Have been back 2 more times or 2 trips. Great again and third time it was fine but not like the 2 times before. . . but alot of sign this past trip we were kinda put off. they just aren't what they used to be. they are all too similiar. I feel like they are loosing their identity, but that is. n us. I odn't know what's going on with alot of them. even flying fish before our cruise was just ok. my steak was beyond cheap quality. my dad threw me look also so I know it' wasn't me, but my wife and others had the snapper as usual and it was awesome as in the past.

funny you mention flying fish. . . I alway always have said that for years. w e were just there in July. my strip was like choice quality if that. my dad felt the same. my wife looked at my plate and goes "really. . . how does it taste though". just poor poor quality meat. steak in general I think sine covid has been very very poor overall at Disney. I have said this before. they are all the same anymore. they never were like that. each sign place had it's steaks and they were all different. they are all coming form the same location all cut and packaged the same I feel. years ago the signatures were allowed to get product from where they wanted. since covid I feel like it's one central place like the park restaurants. they aren't the same. the trip before July wee struggled with the typical sign places we go to and we just weren't impressed like I used to be. sad to say. . .

again food is personal. . . everyone has different tastes, but the strip at flying fish this past trip was very visible that it was a pretty poor cut of meat.

and if I put pics of fillets from each signature place they are exactly the same besides presentation with that goes with them. flat small ol pieces of meat. not thick round cuts like they used to be. the strip at flying fish was velvet last time stringy cheap looking.

Maybe it's a tastebud difference, or luck of the draw, or pure nostalgia on my end. My wife and I ate at the Flying Fish in 1999 when we spent part of our honeymoon at DW ... and we've been there many more times since.

As I mentioned, we just ate at the Flying Fish (larger group 9 persons-- three of us had the steak) and we thought the prep and quality of the steak was exceptional. My wife and I also dined there last July ... I ordered the steak (she had fish) ... again, I really liked it.

I would agree, depending on the restaurant, the standards have changed over the years.

For example quality at Le Cellier has deteriorated IMO ... and Cali Grill I think has also taken a step back (maybe it's my general disdain for prefix menu restaurants).

Anyway thanks for sharing.

Cheers

We ate there earlier this year, soon after the refurbishment. We found the ambiance very nice - think the refurb was done very well. It was an early reservation, so dinner rush wasn't in full swing. Service was very good. Overall, we thought the food was good but not the best we'd ever had. We'll try Narcoosee's next time. It's not a "never go back" for us, but was I think somewhat forgettable on the food and menu.

We have been there twice since the re-opening, most recently in March. We really did not have a good experience on our last trip. Both the food and service were mediocre. If this is a special occasion, I would consider Cali Grill, Narcoosees or Topolino's instead.
I keep giving Cali grill another chance and it’s been a miss two times over last two years. Very long wait between apps and main course that I had to find the manager to let them know we were hungry. :/ and the other time my filet mignon was fully well done when I ordered medium. I miss the good ol days probably 15 years ago now when I had the best food ever there.

Oh goodness, don't even get me started on Cali Grill 😭. A meal there in 2019 was to this day probably the best we have ever had on property, and now.....eeek. Pre-fixe menu, no brunch, service is meh, food is meh....unless and until it's fixed, the Cali Grill post-Covid downfall will be one of the saddest to me.
