We have planned one day to tour some of the hotels to see the Christmas decorations and our last stop is the Grand F. We already have ressies at Citricos, but now are re-thinking and thinking maybe we should try Narcoosees. We've never been to either and are on the dining plan so both are an extra TS credit. Anybody who's been to both or one-What do you suggest :confused3

We love Narcoossee's for the lobster, we have two ADRs for our upcoming trip. Citrcos's menu just doesn't appeal to me as much so we've never tried it. We could also see the castle from our table and the service was great :thumbsup2

We just had dinner for the first time at Citrico's on Thursday night and it is my new favorite! I had loved Cali Grill and still do, but my meal was *off* again there this year and the food and service at Citrico's was amazing. I had the short ribs, DH had the Duck Confit for appetizer and Pork Two Ways for his main course. Desserts were tiramisu and a berry dessert that was just heavenly.

They made us feel very special for a last minute reservation on our anniversary trip and will be on our "must do" list for the next time.

In all fairness, I have not tried Narcoosee's yet.

We enjoyed both very much in Oct. 2009. DH, DW, and DS5.

Citricos was a very quiet restaurant with very fine service and food. Tables were spaced pretty far apart which I like. The food was very nice in taste and presentation, probably the most wonderful we have ever had. I'd say more formal... Citricos is in the main building just off the 2nd floor. The lobby is beautiful and we enjoyed all the floral arrangements and the orchestra that plays... and the Basin White store (check out the soaps bars with Mickey heads!).

Narcoosees was very good too. Great service but I'd say a little more casual than Citricos... maybe it was just the waiter we had who was a little more talkative with us. The food was very good but just didn't have the wow factor like Citricos. But, I like seafood so Narcoosees menu appeals better to me. Narcoosees has a nice view of the water too, and the MK fireworks if there when they go off. Narcoosees isn't far from the main building either, just a few minutes walk.

Both restaurants are great... we have a reservation to return again to Narcoosees so we can find out what a $58 lobster tastes like! We didn't order lobster there before. Thank goodness for the dining plan. We are from MD, and there's a corner bar that has 1 1/2 pound lobsters steamed for $10!!!

We are also going to 1900 Park Fare for the character dinner. I'd return to Citricos again but we want to try some of the other signature restaurants -- Artist Point, Flying Fish Cafe, and Hollywood Brown Derby.

We just ate at Narcoosees last week and to be honest, was not impressed. Our meal was just okay and there was no wow factor. I would not eat there again especially for 2 credits. We had steak and lobster and the lobster was nothing to brag about. I've had better at what I would consider lower end restaurants.

I would pick Citrico's over Narcoosee's. Citrico's is #1 on my list of favorite Disney Restaurants. Narcoosee's is probably #10 on my list.

I don't think you can make a wrong decision here.

We've eaten at both - Narcoosee's is good but we feel that Citrico's is better. It's one of our favorites!

I like Citrico's; however, Narcoossee's is our favorite restaurant at WDW and always make an ADR when we are back. I love the location, the view, the service, and the steak is excellent.

 Wow looks like a hard choice! I think we're going to try Citricos this trip and save Narcoosees for next visit. Thanks for all the input. Can't wait to see all the beautiful decorations at the GF. This is our first trip to see the world decorated for the holidays :santa:

Kat I just realized you're from Long Island! I grew up out on the east end and now live in the frozen northern part of the state! lol

You will love Citrico's and as far as the decorations.....I'm jealous! They were just constructing the gingerbread house when we were there. Enjoy it, enjoy the lovely lovely lovely piano and other music in the main lobby, enjoy the flowers, enjoy it all! :goodvibes

I would vote for Citricos as well. We just weren't impressed with the lobster at Narcoossee's.

:goodvibes We have a family home in Maine, but we don't use it during the winter months too cold for us!
Thank you I can't wait to be thrust into the Christmas spirit by all the beautiful decorations :santa:

I've been to both and Citricos far outshines Narcoossee's. Narcoossee's was just ok, nothing spectacular, and not worth it for the prices they charge. Citricos, on the other, hand is amazing. Fabulous food and great service.

I have reviews of both places in my DR's - links in my signature if you want to know more.

Hi
I'd like to eat at Citricos in May, but I don't eat any meat or tofu. Has anyone had something made for them by the chef that isn't on the menu? Thanks!!

Narcoossee's has slipped since a change in management over the past year. It is no longer as service oriented as it once was. Generally, people are still having positive experiences, but consistency is down and the manager of the restaurant seems to be more interested in her approach to running the restaurant than having a differentiated dining venue. A past favorite of ours, we await a change in leadership before we will return. Unfortunate for them - we dine OOP exclusively.

Citricos has a very personal approach to service and the food is flat out fantastic. You will be pleased with your decision to go there.

The service at Citricos is some of the best in WDW, and the menu is creative, relatively untainted by the dining plan.

We are in WDW now and ate at Narcoossee's on the 13 and Citrico's on the 17. Tons of pics, the menu and reviews in my Live review thread.

Citrico's was incredible, Narcoosee's not so much

Narcoossee's is better.

We don't want the secret to get out. Every time there's a Citrocos vs. Narcoossee's thread, I control the urge to share my opinion. If we keep it between us then we're more likely to be able to get a reservation. But I admit that I like Citricos - Narcoossee's just nudged it out of first first place.
