I'm about to buy tickets for this and was wondering if I should splurge and get the most expensize tickets...or are the 3rd level priced seats just fine??? What is everyone's experience? Also, did you enjoy the show?
TIA !!! :wave2:

We have seen LaNouba a couple of times and there really isn't a bad seat. I prefer the second level of seats (blue seats on the Cirque seating chart) but that is just my preference. It seems to me that the people closer to the stage would have to look up for the high wire act I'd prefer eye level or just below eye level.

The show is wonderful!! Have a great time!!

We sat in the very back row right in the middle of the auditorium and the view was fine for us and we loved the show.

Same here, in fact I think it was easier to see everything. A lot of things are going on, all at the same time, during that show. Sitting a ways back helps see the whole thing. Just to get the idea the last row cannot be more than 50 or 75 feet from the stage. Not very far at all!

Okay, I have a question that I hope you guys can answer for me. I'm (kinda) debating whether to buy tix for this when DW and I are down in August. Thing is, I've seen bits and pieces of different Cirque shows over the years on TV and, while I certainly am impressed with the phenomenal dexterity and physical prowess that is required to do the things they do, well... it all just seems a bit underwhelming to me. I mean, when I watch it--yeah, I get it, they're really limber and wacky and French, and that's cool, but... if I do spring for this, am I going to have some revelation and be wowed, or, in light of my jaundiced attitude, am I going to just be thinking, "Wow, that was $200 that I'll never get back..."?

And, in no way do I mean to offend anyone who's an avid fan of Cirque.

Thanks!

I've found for most shows I'd rather be up a bit further. When you sit really close, you see the makeup and the lines holding them up and their sweat and the costumes that look gorgeous and daring from afar often aren't when you're up close.

This was the exact thought going through my head last december. Difference was, I thought about it as I sat in my "$200" seats. haha I said to my partner "we just paid 200 for this, and have NO clue what we are about to witness." haha, We had no clue what Cirque was. About 3rd act into the show we were both hooked! Before we left I purchased over $100 in the giftshop. For christmas I just asked for all the cirque shows on DVD etc.. haha, Building a Cirque soundtrack collection now. It became VERY addicting. But though all of the shows we have seen, La Nouba is our favorite! There really isnt a bad seat.. But I agree you should sit "mid theater" or back.. to get the full effect. The stage is alive at all times, Bit of a great overload feeling. We hope we still get the same feeling when we return this fall.

So yah, Go in with an open mind, dont be critical just take it all in. Hope you all enjoy as much as we did. :goodvibes

Nothing is more boring to me than watching it on tv. :rolleyes1 But when you are there and the music is pounding (live BTW) and you can see the acrobatics in 3-D, it's OVERwhelming if anything. I sat with my jaw gaping the entire time.

I think you will enjoy it...I've never heard of anyone that didn't.

Both close and far have their advantages.
CLOSE - You get to see the detail of the costumes and makeup. You get a feel for the complexity and athleticism of the performances.
FAR - There is always A LOT going on during every act. Sitting far away allows you to see the overall picture (which is spectacular).

If this is your first CdS show, I would suggest about 3/4 back from the stage. If you can get the seats just behind the "break", they are great as the opening parade is right in front of you. Get there early as the pre-show is entertaining also.

letterdavidman - Seeing CdS on TV is a poor indicator of the scope of a live show, especially one in a permanent theater (as opposed to their traveling shows). I have seen 7 different shows (La Nouba twice) and feel that they are worth the cost.

I have tickets for my upcoming trip in section 202 AA, which is the first row in the second tier. Is that the "break" you were referring to - between the the two levels? If so, I'm glad I got those seats! :cool1:

Yes, those are the ones! :teeth: Enjoy the show.

I will be in section 204 AA in a couple of weeks. I have sat in that exact seating before and it's great!

It is the break the previous poster mentioned. The opening parade goes right past you.

Great! Thanks for the info. I'm really looking forward to the show as I've never been to one live before. :flower:

FigmentGuy, vettechick99, and BunsenH (awesome handle, BTW!), thank you for replying to my query. I dunno, I just think that I won't outright hate the show, but that I'll be sitting there thinking something along the lines of, "Man, the La Nouba ticket money could've been a couple more nice dinners, or a surprise Pooh souvenir for the Wife, etc., etc...". But, ultimately what I think is immaterial--no, it's what DW thinks. And if she wants to see La Nouba, then, without hesitation, it is done.

Who knows, maybe, to balance it out, someone like Ministry will be playing at the House of Blues, and I'll drag her to that. :teeth: Huh-huh, that would be cool!

Our first time seeing the show we were just 2 rows in front of the 'break'. but i was on an end seat so i got to see the "bike artist" go right by me, that was awesome. This time when we return we got our ticketsts on the row that starts after the break so that we can see the parade of performers. Im so excited, I hope our seats will be just as great.

We are watching the HOB calander also to see what shows will be there during our stay. Of course no matter what we are doing La Nouba. Already have the tickets for that though. :sunny:

we had fifth row and center seats and they were awesome. There were too many things going on at once for us to see everything - we need to go again, but the show was great from where we sat.

I saw La Nouba pretty recently, and it is a great show. Be warned, though, that the seats at the far end (probably the last section on either end of the theater) are somewhat "obstructed view", espicially in the upper level.

DH and I were there for our anniversary in May and had seats 4th row slightly
off center from stage. While these seats were fantastic if we go again I''ll
get seats further back ( I agree first or second row behind the "break" are
probably great) There is just SO much going on at any one time I think further back would give a better perspective of everything. We're going to be at DW again in December with our two sons (24 and 16) and I think I'll order tickets for just the two of them one evening since we just saw it in May. It's hard to describe the show since it's just so much activity and the music is
absolutely fantastic. I was told a lot of people don't even realize the music is
live because of all the activity on stage and the musicians are elevated behind a screen. It is an absolutely awesome show...well worth the money.

We went to WDW in 2003 the second week in December. This year we are going the second week in December. The second week in December was blacked out (no performances) in 2003, and now again in 2005.

All I can say is...... :badpc:
