I was wondering if any one has seen Cirque du Soleil at Disney World? We are debating whether to go or not. We don't want our 7 year old to be bored. Also we read somewhere that there is alot of audience participation. Fill me in!!

$75 a person
4 hours on a night

if you have the above 2

then go. you wont be dissapointed.

no audience part...maybe 1 person is a clowns joke...thats it....must see one time

You (including your son) will have a wonderful time at the show!!! There is a bit of audience participation. During the preshow the clowns include some of the audience members (they make a joke about showing them to their seat and take their tickets up onto the stage like they're suppose to sit there). There's also a scene during the bkie stunts where one audience member (from the front middle section) gets pulled up on stage, lays down, and is jumped over. It is expensive, but well worth it!!! My dh and I went back in January and had a great time!! So much so that we just went and saw one of the other cirque shows (Varekai) when it toured in our area.

I agree - the show is awesome! I would think that kids would be mesmerized by it. I don't remember much audience participation - just a little before the show started, but nothing to be afraid of!

It's good to read all of this. I just bought tickets for us to go for our upcoming trip!

Is it really four hours, or are you counting transportation time, etc. in that?

The show itself is a little less than two hours, with no intermission. Including travel time, pre-show, and general standing around waiting to get in and out of the theatre, you're looking at about a 4-hour commitment.

We've done Cirque at DD twice and loved it both times. We even took my newphew who was 3 at the time and he loved it. It's very fast paced and you don't even realize it's been 2 hours. It's great for all ages and a very unique experience.

DH and I finally splurged on Cirque in May. We went to the early show and there were alot of children in the audience. None of them seemed bored!

La Nouba was the first Cirque show we ever saw, now we are total FANS! Fanatics is more like it! One day we'll get to Vegas to see a few of them there ("O" especially!) and we've seen everyone that travels through town here. I simply can't imagine you being even remotely diappointed. What those people do is beyond amazing!!!!! It's on my "DO NOT MISS!!!" list. Worth every dime and more!!!!!! And I'm not a super easy pleaser.

The Audience participation is very minimal. Just a little before the show starts that is juts iun but not anything to worry about if you're nervous about being chosen. I'm one of those but wouldn't miss a show ever!

GO!:goodvibes

OH, and my 4 year old son LOVES THEM!!!!!!!!! Not even remotely bored!!!! It's what got him really into gymnastics.

Cirque du Soleil is completely worth the cost of the tickets. We were in awe by the show--the time flew by! It was great night out after a day in the MK

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time :earsgirl:

My dad and I "bet" how long it would take before I had to take my 2 yr old son out since he doesnt sit still for long. We didnt hear a peep out of him and he sat in his seat for the entire ~2 hour show! There was always something to look at stage level and above.

P.S. Unless it has changed since 2001, there are also kids performing. My neice and nephew thought this was the coolest part.

How was Varekai? It is in our area and we are thinking of getting tickets. Is it worth it and will our 2 year old son like it? THANKS!

Well I tell ya, we took my son to see Allergria (should ahve taken him to Dralion but oh well) and he really loved the show UNTIL the wind started blowing paper heavily at our faces. We were sitting in the front row so our heads were stage level, that made Nick cry (he was 3). But the coolest thing was one of the people spotting for the tumblers up in stage in costume very quietly asked if he was okay. How sweet was that!???!?!?:lovestruc I've seen the show you are talking about on bravo and I think it woudl be entertaining for them. Personally I think if you are at least 3 or so rows back, I think even a 2 year old will like it and fortunately there are intermissions on the traveling shows I've seen so you're good. And the second half is usually much shorter than the first. It's definately worth bringing them I think. My opinion only.:wave2:
