I have been doing some thinking about going to Cirque Du Soleil. Can anyone recomend it to me? Also are the clowns they have the usual creepy/scary circus clowns?

La Nouba is an event that I think everyone should experience at least once. It is amazing! We were a little reluctant to go because of the costs, but after only a few minutes of the show, I realized that we had nothing to worry about.

There are a couple of clowns providing laughs here and there (pre-show and in between acts), but I've never found clowns to be creepy, so I'm not much help with that aspect. Go and enjoy it!

Adding my recomendation. I've seen it twice and would see it again if given the chance. I've seen a couple of the other cirque shows, and while I enjoyed them, I think LaNouba is the best I've seen. I will say though, that it is not for everyone. If you've seen any of the cirque shows on tv or if you've seen the clips on their website and it appeals to you than you will enjoy it. I've also never found any clowns creepy, so I can't help you there. They do have a picture of the clowns on their website if that helps any.

La Nouba is a fantastic show. We liked it so much we went to Il Corteo here in NYC.

The show has everything, comedic moments (even as you are being seated), and wowing moments. Some of the stunts were really beautiful. If you don't want attention, don't arrive late.

My favorites were the Asian girls, the flying man with the red curtain, and the bicyles.

Here's another recommendation. I saw it three years ago, and really enjoyed it. I also would see it again if I had the chance!

We are going to go for the first time next summer. I'm excited and I can't wait. I've always wanted to see a Cirque show. From the clips I have seen over the years it's not like your typical Circus Clown.

We loved this show when we went--my husband still talks about it three years later. I wouldn't worry about the clowns because they, like everything else at Cirque, are totally different than the traditional circus type clowns you are thinking of. Yes, it's expensive, but it's worth the price.

I have seen the show several times and always enjoy it. The tickets are a bit pricey, but worth every cent. Be sure to arrive early.

Highly recommended.

Enjoy.

La Nouba is fantastic!!!!! The best show at WDW. We saw it twice a few years ago and we'll be seeing it again in July with my 6 year old. There isn't anything scary about the show. You will just sit there in awe of what you see (the music is fabulous as well).

Well worth every penny.

Went 5/13 (or is that 13/5 in the UK - May 13?). Loved it!

There is one character (a muscle-man type) that is rather "strange". We were lucky to get row "AA" in the second tier, and they passed by right in front of us during the opening act. Our kids were not bothered by him.

The most clown-like character is not scary.

Mucho dinero, but I'm glad we did it!

Ah yes, the 'Titan'. From what I understand, he is some sort of 'father figure' for all of the characters. He does strike some strange poses, eh?

For anyone interested, La Nouba will be on Bravo this Tuesday (June 13) from 1pm - 3pm.

I dont know. It all depends on the day and time. We got ours early, because we wanted the 'good' seats. However, in my opinion all the seats are good because they all are centered around the stage.

I'm wondering whether the "good seats" are worth the price.

I know exactly what you mean by that...I think clowns are so damn creepy! I had the same concerns and actually resisted seeing La Nouba for several years before DH finally convinced me. I loved it! I could not stop talking about it for hours! I liked it so much we've seen several Cirque shows since.

It really is very non-traditional for the most part with characters who, although in makeup, are not really clowns. They are acrobatic/musical performers and the only "standard issue" clowns are a couple of guys who do some skits to fill time during set changes for the show (they are a bit tedious but their bits are only a few minutes long).

Take it from a former non-believer and clown hater...take the chance, I don't think you'll regret it!

We LOVE Cirque (so much so that we have gone 3 times and are planning to go again this summer). I highly reccomend it.
And with the question about the clowns? Clowns really creep me out and none of them were the typical rainbow frizzy hair and giant red noses. :thumbsup2

You could look at it this way: being one of the last to purchase cat 2 tickets would put you in just about the same location as a cat 3. pirate:

Check out a show on Bravo if you can, even if it is not the Disney Show. While the TV shows do not to Cirque justice, it will give you an idea of what it is about. Also, Cirque does have a web site with all their shows listed. It might give you some information.

We are planning our second show this fall. (With the free dining, we figured we could go ahead and splurge!)
