Cirque shows are wonderful. I haven't seen La Nouba yet (our youngest probably wouldn't sit through it), but I've seen Alegria, and my wife and I saw Varekai when it came to Chicago. They are well worth the ticket prices.
To make it more economical, consider getting category 2 or even category 3 seats. The performance venues are small enough that there isn't a big drop off in quality of experience, and in some ways having a wider perspective on things is better.
I can't wait to see it in October. I'm surprising my mom with tickets. Since this is our girl's only trip I figured now is the best time to do it. We'll be in section 103 row D. Stop by and say Hi!
We loved it. The entire family had a blast, and I was way to wrapped up in the show to even think about taking photos. I did take one of the theatre before the show began, and one of the kids before the show began.
We had second teir seating, and they were great. Not a bad seat in the house.
I've seen La Nouba three times and I'd be happy to see it again! There are so many layers to the performance (physical performance, costumes, music, vocals, effects, etc.) that I see something new each time I attend. Definitely worth the money!
We saw La Nouba in December last year for the first time, and I have to say i will be going each time I vist every couple of years to see how and if it has changed any
I was in the more expensive seats about halfway up the bottom section and to me they were great. you definatly do not have to look up in these seats.
Like other people I saw the showm then immediatly bought the dvd.
You cannot take photos with or without the flash. I know this as I managed to sneak a couple of photo's then got caught and told to put my camera away.
since coming back to the UK everyone who I have showed the DVD has been totally amazed!!
We saw it in '01 and loved every minute of it. We were in section 202 I believe, about 5 rows back from the walkway. Loved those seats.
My ds went last night for his 33rd birthday. He is basically an old (sort of old anyway) grump, he doesn't usually like anything like that. I was really surprised when he told me he and his fiance were going over to DTD, from Tampa, to see it. Talked to him this morning and he loved it!! Said it was 'absolutely incredible' and that he completely enjoyed it. If he enjoyed it and didn't complain about the cost he must have been inpressed!!
