Are the cinnamon rolls at the resorts the same as the Main St. Bakery at MK? We are staying at AKL.

The ones we got at the Main St. Bakery were bigger and way better tasting than the ones we got at Pop last June. I haven't been to AKL so I can't say how their cinnamon rolls are.

The cinnamon rolls at Boma were totally unlike any cinnamon roll I'd ever had before and they were to die for (very bread-y, like school bread; strong cinnamon flavor; no icing but sprinkled with raw sugar) and nothing like Main Street Bakery's. (Starbucks sells something called the "morning roll" that's very like the cinnamon rolls at Boma.)

POFQ had a pretty standard, run-of-the-mill cinnamon roll. I don't know what the cinnamon rolls at the Mara are like (although I will soon! yay!).

This was a great question, because I would have assumed they were all the same,,but it is good to know they are not!

No they aren't the same. The cinnamon rolls at POR at very good but the rolls one main street are good and larger too.

Defanitely NOT! Unfortunately.. Tried them at resorts, HS and Sunshine Seasons and they are all different. SS wasnt bad but MSB is the best..

Dear lord ---- I swear I can taste those buns -- Just by how you are describing them LOL :thumbsup2

I think I must be the only person on DIS who was not "wowed" by the cinnamon rolls at Main Street Bakery...

It was good, but not GREAT... and definitely not something to write home about. I actually liked the cinnamon roll I had from POR better... :confused3

Maybe I will give it another try in July. Perhaps I'll feel differently... :flower3:

Nope your not, in fact I will do you one better. My son HATES them. He loves cinnamon rolls mare than anything in life but will not eat on in the MK. He says(and hubby agrees) that the don't have much cinnamon flavor and they taste like they have either honey in them or taste like maple. I don't like cinnamon rolls at all so I couldn't tell you. DS also eats them at POR every time we are there.

Everyone has different tastes! :goodvibes We happen to love the cinnamon buns at the Main Street Bakery. My husband and I like to share one and then get a cup of fruit and share that as well. Makes for an quick and easy breakfast at the MK. :thumbsup2

I think this might have been my issue with them. I couldn't really put my finger on it at the time, but I think you've hit the nail on the head for me. It was very sweet (VERY sweet), but it didn't have much (if any) of the spiciness/sharpness of cinnamon. I really wanted to love it, because it looks good in pictures and sooooo many people here on DIS Boards swear by it. But ultimately, I was not impressed. :confused3 BUT I really liked the one I had at POR... :thumbsup2

Here's another pic for you:

My kids loved them, but I also wasn't impressed. We're from PA Dutch Country where little old ladies hand roll yeast dough, let them rise for hours & make their own syrup for "sticky buns" - and there's nothing like them!

My daughter doesn't care for them either (she says mine are much better ) but the size is impressive!

Do they have nuts in them? My son is allergic to nuts, but loves cinnamon rolls, I wondering if we can try it or not.

Do they have nuts in them? :confused3

I'm allergic to tree nuts, but I can have some cinnamon rolls. I typically do the Pillsbury rolls because I know what's in them.
