Has anyone done this recently ? We were not planning on eating at Lombardi's , we will be there July 8-11th and want to definitely see the show , do you think we will have a hard time a good watching spot if we do not take the dinning package ?

The dining package is a little pricey so if you didn't want to spend the money, there are plenty of good viewing spots around the lagoon. Stand over by Mel's Drive-in and you'll see everything.

We were planning on going in August with my son and daughter (13 and 17), I wanted to do the dinner show because I am expecting big crowds at that time of year and wanted a good viewing place and also a fun time with dinner. Do you just walk right out after dinner and is the viewing area worth it!!!

We were there July last year and it was busy.

Unless you really want to eat at Lombards I wouldn`t bother with the dining package.

There are plenty of places around the lagoon where you will get an excellent view of the show. There really isn`t a bad spot.

We stood across the lagoon from Lombards and had an excellent view of it all, we strolled into that space about 5-10 minutes before the show started and there were plenty of places to sit, never mind stand.

I when the week after New Years, so busy crowds time, and I got a spot over by Ricter Burger fairly easily. The only down side was that you the fireworks were a different direction from the primary screen you wanted to look at.

I was wondering if anyone's done this recently. If so, what are your feelings about the package?

Some background - we've done Universal once before (just after HP opened), and we're heading to the dark side again in June, 6/28 - 6/30, staying at RPH. Two kids (14 & 12), my wife & FIL. We've not seen this show before, nor have we eaten at Lombard's previously.

If nothing else, we figured it was a convenience to have the package, and we're assuming the parks will be crowded (it's the week leading up to July 4th).

I've read the reviews on Lombard's - mixed!!
And most say there are plenty of viewing spots for the show, but we're not sure if it'll be crazy that week. :confused3
Feelings anyone? :thanks:

We had an older thread on this subject so I'm going to combine the two.
