Anyone know anything about this parade - it's listed on the official site as being on in March at the Studios.

Does anyone know if the Studios Park normally has any special events on it's "birthday" 16th March. :wizard:

I thought the Cine Folies were the "street" performances they do in Studio 1, but I haven't heard of the parade - I'll have to see if I can find out more!!! :)

Thanks both it wasn't something I'd heard of and I thought it was new - definately listed as a parade though. Just checking where we needed to be and when.

At 10.30am every morning - the cinefollie actors come out onto Front Lot in an old studio vehicle, with Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale following - for photos and autographs.

This event is called "Roll out the Red Carpet", and is more a "meet and greet" than a parade.

That sounds as though it could be it and it's not something we've seen before- many thanks for the info Poppy. :cheer2:

"CinéFolies" is most definately the small "streetmosphere" shows in Disney Studio 1, I think they just got mixed up when they made that page - they're often marking a "Show" as a "Parade" by mistake... lol

Don't worry though - the "Roll out the Red Carpet" character session that Poppy mentioned is still on, as far as I know - I'm trusting Poppy on this one. ;)

If you've got a spare moment, I'd really recommend seeing one or two of the CinéFolies. The actors in them really are hilarious and they bring a lot of fun and life to a day in the studios. Might be best to lie low if you don't want to take part though! lol

::yes:: My DD aged 5 absolutely loved the CineFolies. And everytime we walked through Studio 1, they were there - so we had to stop and watch!!! :teeth: Great fun!!

I think on this next trip we are going to have to make an effort to really explore the Studios Park, it's been a bit of a letdown in the past.
The first time we got stuck on the Tram Tour in sleety weather and left as soon as we could because we were drenched and very cold, the second time we did Armageddon which frightened the living daylights out of my youngest who got even more more upset when I wouldn't let him ride RocknRoller coaster (he just reached the minimum height) so we headed back to BTM to improve his mood. :sunny:
He's now 131 cms so I've said he can ride RnR this time although he's now got his sights set on Space Mountain, any ideas how to stretch a 7 year old 1cm in 5 weeks gratefully accepted. :yay:

He certainly thinks he is Elaine.

To tell the truth I haven't done RnR or SM myself before. Although for some unknown reason I agreed to do Indiana Jones last time - I had to have 2 rennies and a paracetamol afterwards. :rolleyes1

Sounds like he'll be wearing his platform trainers then :goodvibes

They have been ordered - yes :)

These high fashion skate shoes might be ugly but they serve a purpose

Now that I've heard it's running forwards I would probably try it again - I'll skip breakfast that morning though. :rolleyes2

I did read a 'tip' somewhere to put dominos in the heal of shoes to get that extra wee bit of height.

At the begining of the thread someone mentioned "birthday" 16th March. Do they do anything special for this, only it's my husbands birthday on that day too and I would keep anything like that a suprise for when we arrive, try and pass it off as a special thing for his Birthday!!

I've not seen anything promoting any new celebrations on the 16th.
A day later there will be celebrations on the 17th for St Patrick's Day pixiedust:

The only thing I've read is - paraphrase "that anyone going to dlrp to celebrate St. Patricks Day should think about going a day earlier when the Studios Park will be celebrating it's birthday" no more info than that I'm afraid. :confused3
I'm quite sad actually as the trip was supposed to be for my 40th birthday on the 17th but then when I found out about the Kids Carnival I decided to bring the trip forward a couple of days so that DS could have his birthday there and we could enjoy the Carnival - I've now found out that there are fireworks as part of the St. Patrick's Celebrations, we've never been fortunate enough to go at a time when there's been a fireworks display and I'd so have loved to have seen them.

Oh Jill, thats a shame

I know  you'll just have to book another trip! ::yes::
