I bought the Cinderalla's castle cross stitch kit thingie when I was at WDW earlier this year. I had the pattern and everything sitting on the table right beside my sewing chair. Well, a lovely man in this household carried his 'midnight movie' snack out into the living room and promptly spilled salsa and chocolate milk (eeewwww, but don't ask) all over my pattern. He grabbed the papers and tossed them out. Any ideas on what I can do??? Any help?

Gosh I am so sorry to hear about that! I am afraid I dont have any good ideas on what to do with the patterns - are they really badly damaged?

Maybe try on eBay?

I would suggest calling or writing to the company that made the kit and explain what happened. The address should be somewhere on the coversheet. If you don't have the coversheet, call Disney, explain what happened and hopefully someone in the store where you bought it will look at another package and give you the address. I am just almost sure they will send you a new pattern.

Good luck!

Have you tried doing a search on the net for a pattern? Perhaps it is posted out "there" somewhere!
Do you mind sharing how much your cross stitch cost?? I will be getting married in wdw next year and it might be nice to make something like to commemorate it .

The first thing you might want to do is replace the clumsy man of the house.:D I always threaten my DH within an inch of his life when I am working on a project like that. Look on the bright side you hadn't almost finished the picture when he spilled his really weird combination. Good luck in finding a replacment.

I have that pattern and would be happy to send you a copy of it. I traded the pattern to a few other DIS people a few years ago for some other Disney patterns that I havent gotten to yet.
I made the castle on a blue sweater and it is beautiful, but takes forever. I never realized how many different colors are in the castle.
But I am doing the Self Portrait on a sweatshirt now and Mickey has 8 different colors on his pants so the Castle was much easier.
I make most of my cross stitch on clothing because I want to see my work more than I would if it was hanging on a wall. Plus, I love to show off my handiwork. lol
Send me a Pm or an IM to Mickey527@aol.com with your address and I will get the copy of the pattern out to you right away.

No kidding! I have told him if he EVER and I mean EVER gets anything on my pictures or scrapbook stuff he would be a marked man. He is watching his back really bad now. He has damaged some pictures and ditched my pattern in one year. He is gonna be sssoooooo dead!

The kit cost $50 dollars and it came with a poster size piece of navy blue fabric to sew on (I can't think of what it is called), all the thread, a needle and the pattern. It is a really, really big castle with the fireworks and TinkerBell touching the whole thing off. Really pretty! I am about a 1/4 of the way through, I hope!

I will try looking online, that seems like the easiest option right now. Thanks for the ideas!

Which store did you find it in at Disney? I think I might like to get a copy of it when I go down in October. I'm not sure about the navy material. I don't like doing work on dark material it is too hard to see the holes.

Czarina,
I have the copy of the pattern in an envelope and it will go out to you tomorrow.
Megan's mom, you can buy the kit at the Art of Disney in DTD. I have never seen it in any of the other shops. You can also order it on line for the same cost.
It is supposed to be the castle at night, and they give you nice metallic thread to make the fireworks over the castle. I used the thread they included when I did the castle on my shirt but it was a plastic thread and it didn't have the give needed for clothing. So I redid the fireworks with metallic thread from the craft store.
I left off Tinkerbell because she just didn't go. The Castle is very correct in color and dimension and then they stick this HUGE Tinkerbell above it. Tink is almost as tall as the castle. So my sweater just has the castle on it.
I go to WDW every year from Dec 28 to around the 10th of Jan so if you are there at that time look for me. I wear different t-shirts with embroidered Disney stuff on them every day. Peggie

My dog (was still about a year when this happened) got a hold of my treasured castle kit and slobbered all over the navy cloth. I rinsed it and put it aside, and now I can't remember where I put it. I would love to work on it again, but will have to find the motivation to look for it. Maybe the slobber wore off by now?
