Well my 180 days was Easter. So I got up early before the kids went crazy for the bunny (although they wanted to come down during my call) and tried to get Cinderella's for breakfast. I was told we don't have any seating open for 5. So I guess, not booked full but not taking 5. Very frustrating. I could have gotten another day, but it is our first day and we are going to the magic kingdom. I did get a lunch reservation that day. I am looking for thoughts on what would be better - lunch the first day or try for a breakfast later in the week.... we will have already seen a lot of the characters by then and I am not sure it would be worth 2 table credits then? Is lunch any good? My kids will be a 5 year old boy, 3 year old girl (princess crazy) and 17 month old girl. I guess my choices are don't do the castle, do lunch that day or try to get a breakfast later in the week when we plan to go back to MK. I don't think it would be worth the hassle to go there for breakfast and then try to drag the kids to another park. We will be there 9 days so we will go back but I am thinking about saving money and the 2 table credits just doesn't seem as worth it as the magic of the start of the trip wears off. We are doing 6 other character meals - Liberty, Chef Mickeys, Play and Dine, Donald and Friends, Crystal Palace, Askerhaus.. we are dining plan and they make more sense for us since the baby will eat "free" and she is a big eater...
Thoughts anyone?

I have read that lunch is good but I have not eaten there myself for lunch only breakfast. If you really want breakfast, I would call again today or tomorrow and try for a breakfast time for your first day. Maybe some more reservations opened up. You never know. CRT is magical to us. We have been twice and feel that 2 TS credits are worth it.

We did lunch at CRT back in 2005 and we really enjoyed it. I'm not really a fan of huge breakfasts- and it's actually nice to have a break in the middle of the day. We toured the MK in the morning before the crowds - then had (I think) a 12:00 lunch (it was the first seating)- then after went back to the hotel and chilled out a bit. Back then it was 1 TS however and no photo package. Although I know it gets mixed reviews in general - I was happy with the food- DH and I had Major Domo's- kids had pretzel dogs and the noodles for the under 3's. Appies were pretty good- dessert was good- but I still am miffed they don't offer more choices- I know they call it blueberry "buckle" but its a muffin in my book!

The most important thing is that you are eating in the castle and its on the day you wanted- really it's only a difference of what you'll be eating!

We went for lunch last year (our choice over breakfast). I ordered Major Domo's (the meat pie), my parents had salmon, and the kids had chicken fingers. Everything was very good. For dessert we ordered sundae's -- they were bringing them to another table and we said we wanted that! They had a castle shaped piece of chocolate on top.

I didn't have high expectations based on these boards, but it was a great experience. The kids got wands and pirate swords, and "wishing stars." The setting was incredible.

Did you try to book 180 days out? I heard that if you were booking 180 days plus (meaning if you have a resort reservation you can begin to book for your whole trip on 180 days of the first day your reservation begins), to try for Cinderellas Royal Table on the 180th day exactly. Appearently they keep back some tables for the exact day.

OMG, you sound just like me! I was heart broken when I counldn't get breakfast! Had dreams of walking up to the castle with my dd for the first time and going right in to eat w/ Cindy. This is what I did, after I saw a tip on here. I called the next day and asked for 2 tables of four. They were able to accomodate us for breakfast! We have a larger party then you, but it might work. They might be able to seat you at a table of 2 and 4. If there only 2 adults in your party, I believe they have to sit you together. Otherwise, you have to make a request to sit together when you get there. Hope this helps! :)

We always go for lunch and enjoy it very much!!! I have read they hold bak some ressies, dosn't seem right since they already have your $$$ but you may want to try calling back... I couldn't get lunch last yr.. about 3 months out.. almost every time and everyday of my vacation had magicaly opened up??? cancelations???
either way .. lunch is very good and You will have a great time!
:goodvibes:

Personally, I prefer lunch. Gives us a good morning's worth of attractions, and a nice sit-down meal when we are ready for a break.

The food is a better value, too (though not necessarily a good value!)

We ate there for lunch in September and it was fantastic. My hopes weren't too high after reading some reviews here, but we were pleasantly surprised. I do remember having some sort of beef/pot roast? that was very good and dessert was not the blueberry coffee cake you always hear about-I think I had something chocolate that was great. So I'd take a lunch ressie if you can get one and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!!

If she asks for a table for 6 how does this work with the DDP? Are they going to charge her the extra 2 credits or does she just say that one person couldn't make it when they get there???

I missed the DDP part. I'm not ramiliar with the ddp so don't really know how it works. When I did, I had an "extra" infant - so my credit card wasn't charged for the 6th person.

We are going for lunch there next month - nothing on the menu jumps out at me- what have you had that is good or not so good? Thanks, Jen

Another lunch question- the menu says that

Chef's Tasting Plate
(Appetizers)

Cinderella has instructed her royal chef to start off your meal with the "specialties of the castle"

What is included in this?

Is this still the case now that appetizers aren't part of the meal plan?

Also- my dd (who is 12 and on adult plan) is VERY finicky about fat on meat- if she had teh beef entree- what are her chances of getting much fat?

TIA< Jen

We are lunch at CRT last June, and absolutely loved it! DH and I both had Major Domo's pie, and it was the one thing my DH raved over the whole week. He wants to go back on our next trip! As for the appetizer, I think it was various cheeses and cold cuts with fresh fruit--can't remember. The chocolate buckle dessert is yummy!!

The "Chef's Tasting Plate" is a tiny plate of very sad and uninteresting pieces of cheese, carrot sticks and celery sticks. Very unappetizing. They used to have good appetizers before the advent of the DDP.

I have done both breakfast and lunch. I have to say that I like lunch better. In July I will be doing lunch for the 4th time.
