So my hubby and I are going to WDW for our belated honeymoon in January. :flower3: I have only been to WDW once as a child and my hubby has never been there so I am trying to plan it out in advance without really knowing much from experience. As a side note we have both been to Disneyland 10+ times.

I was looking at the restaurant Cinderellas Royal Table and thought it looked really neat since it is in the castle. We don't have a restaurant like that in Disneyland. I am just wondering is it mostly just families with children that eat there? Would we feel out of place with just the two of us? We have never been to a character restaurant. We are going to have the free dining plan so I wanted to make the most of it :)

All character meals are mostly families with children. If you want to eat there, don't let that be a deciding factor. Most restaurants are going to be full of families.

I saw quite a few couples there. The young and the young at heart. :goodvibes

Have fun!

I loved it as an adult couple experience. The character interaction was very fun.

We would qualify as the young at heart :)

I'm taking my hubby to WDW for his first trip and we're looking forward to CRT for breakfast as a couple. He's so excited about getting to eat inside the castle! It is a fun experience both for kiddos and kiddos at heart (like us). :)

we like it for breakfast.... but there are MUCH better options for dinner!!! congratulations!!

Congratulations!
My DH and I celebrated our honeymoon in Disneyworld 10 years ago and one of our hilights was having dinner at CRT. We requested a window seat and the table was decorated with streamers and Mickey confetti. They even presented us with souvenier CRT champagne flutes which we still have!
It truly was a memorable and magical experience!

My husband and I went there last year for lunch to celebrate our anniversary and it was my favorite meal of the whole trip! Our waitress even gave us the sword, wand and wishing stars that the kids usually get and I thought it was a great touch. It made us feel like kids again! I special ordered chocolate slippers for both of us, which were amazing and really added to the experience. It was mostly families there, but I saw other couples too. Hope you have a wonderful honeymoon :goodvibes

Honestly, there are way better food options, but photo opts and ambience obviously yes. It just depends on how into character meals you and the new hubby are. I would LOVE it, and my hubby would LOVE that I love it so he would be a good sport and go along....

i don't care what your party makeup is...if you like disney then eating in the castle is a must do experience at least once. i took my sister as a surprise trip for her 40th birthday (no kids) and we did lunch there. when we went back a year later and did breakfast. the characters paid just as much attention to us as they did any other table. i still have my wand and my wishing star...of course we never go to disney without wearing our tiaras.

I was at WDW for 10 nights in May for my honeymoon. I wasn't willing to sacrifice 2 credits for CRT, so we did Akershus. I will admit that I teared up a little. lol At 30+ the princesses still amazed me. My husband was just dying at my reactions. That WAS Snow White...it had to be. LOL Anyway, I didn't see any other couples there, and I didn't care! Believe me, you won't either. We got just as much attention as 2 adults. I'm sure CRT would be the same. Let me know if I can answer any other honeymoon related questions. We had a blast!

Ummm...

Are you sure about this? Think LOTS and LOTS of kids not all of whom (in spite of their parents statements) will be "well behaved"

(And don't expect much on food. Disney knows that they don't have to do much. Parents will pay BIG bucks for darling to see a princess so why waste money on good food)

We went to CRT in 2008 for my 40th birthday knowing that many children would be in attendance. Have I had better food and dining experiences? Yes. But, we were lucky to be seated at a lovely window overlooking Fantasyland, and the food was decent. I enjoyed the dinner, and I think that CRT is a great place to celebrate a special occassion for a couple.

On a side-note, my mom and her 3 cousins all celebrated their 60th birthdays at the castle for dinner and were treated like royalty! Each lady received a wand and lots of attention from the characters who appeared at that time. (2008) Even though wine wasn't offered, since MK is a dry park, they really enjoyed the experience!

Realize that CRT is going to cost you 2 TS credits per person and the food is nothing special and is certainly not up to par with most other signature restaurants. I personally would pass on this experience in favor of one of the better signature restaurants.

I am taking my wife, a Disney fanatic, in January 2012. On our last night we will be having dinner in the castle. Lets be honest, are there better places to eat, of course. Is there better bang for your buck in the park, yes. But I know when my wife finds out (this trip is a Christmas suprise) that she will be eating at the actual Cinderella's Castle, that (as far as Im concerned) is worth more than misbehaving children and over priced food....20 years from now you wont remember those things. Have a great time!

Years ago DH and I ate at CRT and really enjoyed talking with Cinderelly. She spent so much time at our table that the waiter (dressed as a mere page) hinted that she should let us eat before our food got cold. I told the waiter that a mere servant doesn't tell Cinderelly what to do.

DH asked Cinderelly what her maiden name was -- before she became so "Charming" -- and she admitted she didn't know. ahem. In the animated classic, the wicked rellies are announced at the ball as Lady Tremaine and dtrs Anastasia and Drucilla Tremaine, so Cinderelly would also have the last name Tremaine.

While CRT isn't on our "must do" list every time we go to WDW, everybuddy should experience it at least once.

DH and I had breakfast at CRT (before kids) and it really was quite magical:goodvibes We were given a table overlooking fantasyland, engraved champagne flutes and a certificate signed by the princesses. The best part was haing an ADR before the MK opened and feeling like we were the only two people in the park...very romantic:lovestruc

Could you train my hubby to think like this? I would seriously DIE if I got a surprise trip to WDW.

Honestly, no. We went in June. Our DD (3) is a huge princess fan, so she loved it, and the food was fine, and seeing how much she loved it made me very, very happy. But I asked my DH if he wanted to do lunch again for our upcoming trip and he gave it a resounding no. I think the "real" Signatures have excellent food and many of the non-Signature restaurants also provide great food (and only 1 credit on DDP/DxDP). In terms of ambiance, most of the people dining at CRT have young children, and it is loud (although that can be said of 90% of the restaurants at WDW). Basically, what I am saying is that if I were celebrating my honeymoon, there are restaurants at WDW that will provide better food and a more intimate atmosphere than CRT. My DH and I did "date night" at Jiko's and Citricos in our last trip (kids went to Simba and Mouseketeer Clubs) and the atmosphere there was much more adult and the food was at a completely different level. JMHO.

I think it's a very romantic restaurant for dinner! The last time I was there, a couple near the window got engaged as soon as the fireworks started. It was sooooooo romantic.

When I ate there, we waiting for over an hour past our ADR time. That can be a bit of a mood killer, so I would suggest an early ADR.
