Cinderella's Royal Table for adults?

My boyfriend and I are taking our first trip to wdw and I am wrapping up our reservations. I am debating about whether or not to make a reservation at cinderella's royal table. It is pretty expensive and I am unsure if it is worth the price for two adults. It seems like it would be really pretty and romantic, but since I am sure it is a top draw for kids, does it tend to get noisy and crowded? If the noise level is so high that it kills the ambience, I am thinking we might save the money and just make reservations at The Plaza or Tony's Town Square. Also, I saw a picture on the wdw website of a couple standing on the balcony of Cinderella's castle. Can you go out on the balcony when you eat at the royal table? Thanks in advance for any help!! :goodvibes

:) We have done CRT twice. Once with my MIL, BIL DH and myself, then a couple years ago just me and MIL. So all adult only visits. The food is OK. You will see Cinderella when you enter in and have your pic taken, then it is upstairs to eat. The ambiance is nice and the food just OK. I remember seeing the Fairy Godmother up there but not much interaction. As much as I love going to Disney, I do not have to return to CRT...neither does my MIL. If you think you need the experience go for it, but I think the overall experience is a bit of a downer and my cup is always half full.

Now Plaza Restaurant was a first for us in Dec on our last trip and it was awesome. The club sandwich was great and my MIL and I thought the french fries were some of the best we have ever had. It is just at the end of Mainstreet, right at the hub for fireworks after you eat. I think it is actually a better expereice for adults. I am 42 and he is 46.

:) I do not recall there being people out on the balcony. During and right before fireworks that whole area is roped off and the ground is sprayed with water for the fireworks. Wishes is at varying times during the year and I know they would not allow folks on the balcony for that. In fact you cannot get on Snow White's ride during fireworks since it is roped of too.

I thought I posted a reply to this, but it must have gotten lost in cyberspace.

We've done CRT twice and really haven't been impressed. I highly doubt if we'll go back. We like 1900 Park Fare better for both the food and the character interaction (and its less expensive).

With any character meal you're going to have a lot of kids and it will be noisy. If you're looking for a romantic dinner for two I would suggest one of the signature restaurants. We've eaten at the California Grill, the Flying Fish, Victoria & Alberts, Citrico's and Narcoossee's and I would highly recomend any one of them.

Have a great trip!

We ate there in December (all of us were adults) and it was fun, but not really a 'romantic' type restaurant. Yes, there are a lot of kids - this does not necessarily mean they'll be noisy, but the atmosphere doesn't really lend itself to romantic couple. If you want to eat somewhere fun and be able to say you've eaten inside the castle, then it's a good place to go. However, if you're looking for somewhere with really good food and a more romantic atmosphere, then a Signature is probably a better bet.

On a side note, I kind of doubt you'll find a romantic atmosphere at any of the character meals. Fun and interactive, yes, but not necessarily romantic.

My husband and I ate there, table for 2, and you couldn't pay him enough to do it again. He is not opposed to princess meals, he enjoyed the one we did at Disneyland Paris, but he didn't enjoy CRT at all.

It is noisy and the food is average at best.

thank you all for the advice! It sounds like we're just better off saving the money. I think we'll just go to the plaza that night and maybe eat at via napoli or one of the french restaurants in epcot. :goodvibes
