How does this work

We have ADR's for breakfast and I paid with my Credit Card when I made the reservation. We are on Deluxe Dining Plan and I would like to use 2 credits for the breakfast, but am unsure how this will work since I already paid.

Do they refund your credit card and then take the credits?

Your credit card is used to hold your ressie. If you do not show up then they charge your credit card. When you booked did you mention you where on the deluxe dining plan? I would call them back and make sure they know this. No worries about the charges as long as you keep that ressie you wont be charged anything on your credit card.

I have spoken with Disney and they said they refund the cc, they actually charge you in advance for this particular reservation.

I know b/c last year I made the reservation and then cancelled and noted that I lost money since I have a canadian credit card and the exchange rate was different on the day I booked vs. when it was refunded.

I thought that if you are on the disney dining plan they do NOT pre-charge your credit card (only if you do not follow their cancellation policy). If you are not on the disney dining plan then they do charge your credit card when you make the reservations.

I made this reservation in October, 19 reservations in total and they were very aware that we were on the dining plan.

No matter we have decided to let the charge stay, (it has since been paid for anyways) and use the extra credit this will afford us and upgrade to a signature dining experience one night.

We made reservations for our upcoming May trip. CRT was one of those ADR's but they did NOT pre charge my credit card. I did let them know we are on the dining plan (but in all reality we aren't going to use the credits for this particular meal).

I booked CRT before adding DDE to our package. My cc was charged. If I decide to have them credit it back and use my TS credits, then they will do that at my check out and it will take several weeks to receive the credit to cc.
This is the same with Hoop De Doo-was 2 years ago anyway and they did the exact same thing.
With all the DDE changes I was undecided about purchasing it at 180 days out but wanted to ensure my CRT ressie

Hmmm..I was in Disney in November and had breakfast reservations for 10 at CRT and was not charged..I just let them know that we were on the dining plan..they said no problem and the CC# was just a guarantee. I am returning in August and have dinner booked at CRT and The Hoop Dee Doo..both took a CC for a guarantee. If they charged your card there must be a reason..call and ask..because normally they do not do that...they just take the CC so they can charge you a penalty if you do not show up.

If you are not on the DDP, or if you tell them you are not using the DDP credits for the meal, they do charge you the full price of the meal at the time of booking. I know for a fact because I've done so twice.

If you are using the DDP, they just use the CC# as a hold in case you are a no-show.
