**Cinderella's Honeymoon**AKL**DxDDP**A Magical Time**

We have our first OB appointment tomorrow at 1:45pm :goodvibes

I will post tomorrow night and let you all know how it went :thumbsup2

We are back from my 1st OB appointment :goodvibes

It went very well. They did blood work and an exam and all that good stuff. The doctor said everything appeared to be going really well, the only concern she had was that I'm measuring larger than what I should be. It isn't anything to be worried about, there's just a good possibility I'm further along than I think or we indeed are carrying multiples (runs in hubby's family). I have an ultrasound set up for May 27th. I'll be right at 9 weeks then :) She gave me an official due date of January 2, 2009 until I have my ultrasound which may change my date. We are so excited and can't wait for these two weeks to pass so we can hear our little one's heartbeat and get to catch our first glimpse of our little bean!!

glad your appt went well. We also have our 1st ultrasound next wed so we are getting pretty anxious (sp?). My doctor does not do ultrasounds until the 20 wk mark...but we will get to find out the gender at the same time which will be exciting, providing that the baby cooperates.

Very happy to hear all is going well. You should hear the little heartbeat on your ultrasound right? Woohooo! What a special moment! Can't wait to hear.

Not as happy to hear your TR will soon be finished. :sad2:

We had our 2nd OB appointment today and our 1st ultrasound - it was magical - that's the best way I can describe it!! We have one beautiful baby measuring 8 weeks 5 days. His/her heart was beating at 169 beats per minute!! My due date remains January 2, 2009. This was the most wonderful thing I have ever experienced :goodvibes I was in tears, my mom was in tears, and even hubby teared up a little. It is such a miracle and I can't wait to watch our little one grow!

Here's two pictures of our little bean :goodvibes

And I thought I would share a belly picture too :goodvibes The 1st pic is me at 5 weeks (I'm chubby already, and I was sooo scared I wouldn't get a proper baby belly until I was wayyyy pregnant, but I was wrong!). The 2nd set is my 2 month (8 weeks) belly pic!

Woohooo! I am the first to see the ultrasound pictures! :cool1: :cool1: I think the bean is a boy. That is my guess! Keep taking the belly pictures too. There is a Dis'er that took a picture every week of her baby after birth with a Week 1, Week 2 blah blah blah sign in the corner and that is a cool thing to do. Your fun is just beginning!!!!

A boy, huh?? Hubby wants a boy SO bad!!! I don't care really as long as it's healthy, but secretly kinda want a little girl (i'm a girly girl!). I have taken belly pictures from 4 weeks - now every week and I plan to continue to do so :goodvibes The heart rate was 169 beats per minute - OB says it's an old wives tale that anything over 140 generally predicts a girl - so we'll see!!!

A beautiful baby is what you'll get...but I think it is a boy! (I am usually wrong which is great news for you!!!):rotfl2: I knew both of mine were girls... two boys. Yep.

I swore mine was a girl too. Picked out a name and everything. didn;t think of any boys names because I was soo sure it was a girl. Turns out it is a boy and he is going to be a big boy (DH is 6'4" so its really possible). He weighed 1 lb going in for my 20 wk ultrasound (normal seems to be 10 1/2 oz). I walked in for my ultrasound at 20 wks and walked out at almost 22 wks. New due date is 09-25-08. doesnot suprise me that he will be a bigger baby. All of DH family is really tall and his sister had big babies too. Now to just think of a boys name...that is the hard part...there are not a lot of boy names that I like that much but the girls name came soo easily:confused3
Glad your ultrasound went well.

Sorry I haven't been on in FOREVER you guys.....

I had another prenatal appointment yesterday and it didn't go so great.

My urine is good - no sugar, no protein, nothing bad. I haven't gained any weight, I've actually lost 3 pounds since 10 days ago when I was at the doctor last. Last time I was seen they did a random glucose and it was not good. My OB had me check my sugar 6 times a day until my next appointment (2 weeks). My doctor didn't like my blood sugars from the past 2 weeks and my Hemoglobin A1C wasn't too great (that tests for overall sugar management). I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes - already - at 10 weeks pregnant. I am being referred to to an endocrinologist who specializes in GD. I also have to begin seeing my OB every 2-3 weeks rather than every 4-5 weeks. I can have no sugar now - none - and only 1 serving of "white" carbs like rice and bread daily. I also have to limit my fruit and fruit juice intake. My OB was talking about how if I didn't get this under control my baby could have serious problems, the placenta could have problems, and I could have problems. It's a pretty scary thing even though I know it can hopefully be controlled. I was just so shocked because normally this doesn't develop until late in pregnancy, not 10 weeks.

My sugar before meals should be 80-110 * mine has been anywhere from 52-186 in the last two weeks.

My sugar 2 hours after meals should be 100-140 * mine has been anywhere from the low 60's - 275.

Hopefully I can adjust quickly and keep me and baby healthy!!

Don't worry,,,,You can get this sugar thing under control! The baby will be perfect!

I'm so sorry to hear about your pregnancy difficulties. You had mentioned you have reproductive problems - do you have PCOS? If you do, you know that its source is insulin resistance. Your body just might be having a hard time adjusting. Hopefully it will get with the program, and quick! :goodvibes

I have PCOS and have 3 children. Just stick to your diet even if it infuriates you to have to give up the good stuff. And beware of hidden carbs!

Also, look at it this way: you could end up weighing LESS after the baby comes, and everyone will marvel at how quickly you get your figure back.

Best wishes for your completely healthy pregnancy!

Candee

Hang in there... you can do this. It is better they diagnosed you early to keep you and the baby healthy than to have found out later and that you had it all along.

I had GD with my second child and was on insulin. My baby is fine and I was fine and I went to the hospital wearing the jeans I wore before getting pregnant. I came home 25 pounds lighter.

Exercise will lower your blood sugars a lot. It keeps working for like 20 hours. Walk as much as you can without wearing yourself down. I swam a lot as I was in Florida then and it was so hot.

Remember that we will all keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Come back when you can.
