**Cinderella's Honeymoon**AKL**DxDDP**A Magical Time**

Ok, I went ahead and did Ohana's at 9pm - which means I'll miss Illuminations... DARN.... That JUST occurred to me.... Ok, so I'm going to need to figure something else out...

Ohana's would definatly be my 1st choice we ate there and loved it, What about Chef Mickey they have a dinner buffet and it is still on the monarail I personally never tried it for dinner but my cousin and her inlaws said it is pretty good. Good luck I hope you don't have to miss Illuminations

We are eating at Ohana's in March, but I really wanted to eat there in September - I DON'T want to give up Illuminations for it though...... I've heard good and bad about Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park Fare... I just don't know.... The menu at 1900 PF sounds really good, but I've heard a few people on the dining board say it's not that great - but If I can make a reservation early enough and still see Illuminations maybe I'll go for it.

September 19th - Epcot day -

Nothing at 1900 Park Fare or Chef Mickeys...

I'm running out of resort buffets...

How about Garden Grill in epcot that is also a buffet served family style, we ate there in 2003 for lunch and it was really good hope to go again in December for our DS3

We got it figured out :thumbsup2

We decided on Whispering Canyon Cafe on our Epcot day. It's at 6:35pm so we'll make it back in PLENTY of time for Illuminations.

Oh yay you got your room! I was keeping my fingers crossed for you. I know that can be a busy time since there is free dinning. Have you got all your adr's made yet? We are most likely going in dec and I hope we can book the trip soon! Even though we have our cruise in july I'd love to have two count downs going on and not to mention there is WAY more to plan with actual disney than there is with the cruise. The cruise is kind of boring in terms of planning. You can make your reservations for stuff until 90 days out I believe it is and there are only a few restaurants on board. So I'm living through you and some other people currently. Lol. :goodvibes Oh and planning my wedding but of course:) :bride:

January 9, 2008

So we decided to sleep in today since we had a really long day yesterday with a full day at the parks, a wishes cruise, and a late dinner. Once we got up around 10am we decided we would kinda make this a casual day. We decided to just park hop and visit some of our most loved rides so far. First we headed to Magic Kingdom and rode Space Mountain, Stitch's Great Escape (I know, I know... this ride is dissed by most on the DIS, but I LOVE Stitch and really enjoyed this ride - minus the gross smelling burp :lmao: ). We decided to go ahead and have an early lunch at Cosmic Rays before heading to another park. The lines weren't long at all. Hubby hopped into the line that served burgers and I hopped into a line that served BBQ sandwiches. DH ordered a double bacon burger with everything on it and fries and he said it was very good - fries were greasy though. My BBQ sandwich was VERY good an so were my grapes - big and juicy and very refreshing! DH and I also both had a piece of chocolate cake but it was very dry and we didn't like that.

After our lunch at MK we decided to hop the monorail, head to the TTC, then hop the Epcot monorail and head there for a bit. At Epcot we did Soarin', Test Track (twice - DH really likes this attraction :lovestruc ), and Mission:Space - the orange version (isn't that the more intense?? - it was VERY bad and I felt VERY sick after riding!!!!!!!!). We didn't do the World Showcase since this was just a slow paced "favorites day". After Epcot we decided to head back to the Lodge for a swim. We arrived at the Lodge, grabbed a few drinks, and relaxed by the pool for about an hour. We slipped into the hot tub and then hubby got into the pool and took a few dives down the slide. After we stayed in the pool awhile we headed back up to our room and changed into our dinner clothes then headed to the bus stop and caught the bus to Hollywood Studios.

At hollywood studios we rode ToT with only a 5 minute wait and Rock -n- Rollercoaster with only a 15 minute wait - I guess it's true - crowds really do thin at DHS around 4pm!!! After DHS's we ventured on to Animal Kingdom which is truly my favorite park I do believe when it come to the theming. We rode EE (3 times - AGAIN) and just walked around Animal Kingdom enjoying the sights and the animals and then headed to our ADR for dinner.

Tonight we were having dinner at Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian. We hopped a bus in Animal Kingdom, took it to the Lodge to grab a few things we had forgotten, the hopped a bus to MK, and then took, the ferry over to the Grand Floridian. It was magical - Wishes was taking place right as we were crossing the water - beautiful. We arrived at the dock and went to check in for our ADR. We were early so we got a drink and went and sat one the dock overlooking MK until we were called. After about 20 minutes we were seated and our drinks and appetizers were ordered. I ordered the hearts of romaine with ceaser dressing and hubby decided to be adventerous as always and ordered the cheese platter. Most of these cheese I can't even pronounce... My salad was wonderful but DH couldn't stand ANY of the cheeses. Our waitress kindly took the platter away and brought DH another appetizer (hearts of romaine) free of charge. Once appetizers were finished we ordered our entrees. We both decided on the surf and turf and were sadly disappointed... The "turf" was wonderful but the "surf" was not. I confess, DH and I had never tried whole lobster and will not ever again. I don not think it was bad because of the way it was prepared, DH and I just didn't like the taste of it. The vegetables and potatoes that it was served with were good though as was the filet!! Now it's time for my favorite part - dessert!!!! Sadly we were so full that we decided to order it to go and enjoy it later in our room. DH ordered the almond crusted cheesecake (which will prove to be a demon - keep reading) and I ordered the Warm Chocolate Almond Gateau. They put the desserts in trays and then put them in a large paper carry out bag for us. I went ahead and stuck my handbag and my camera and our wedding ears in the bag too so I wouldn't have so much to carry. We went on our way, took the ferry back to MK and then took a bus from MK to AKL. Along the way I started feeling something squishy.... I looked down and realized that the bag that held our desserts was oozing white, sticky, goo... I opened up the bag and realized that hubby's cheesecake had melted and leaked everywhere.... All over our ears, all over my handbag, and all over my digital camera..... I was SOOOOOOOOO upset.... We got back to the Lodge and cleaned up our ears and my handbag and then took a look at my camera. The cheesecake had gotten all down inside the battery chamber and the camera and it would no longer work. We even bought brand new batteries at the gift shop but it didn't work - my wonderful hot pink digital camera was dead.... This meant this was the end of the honeymoon picture taking.... I actually cried because taking pictures is something I love to do!! We decided no hot tub tonight, we just went on to bed because I was really upset :sad1: :sad1:

aww that is so sad. I am sorry about that. Lesson learned the hard way...thats always the way it goes unfortunately. Have you got a new camera since then?

I love that camera! We are both pretty big into photography and the camera gets plenty of use so the money was totally worth it.

I'm sorry to hear about your camera, that really stinks. I have another question about DxDDP. Were you able to use one of your credits at cosmic ray's or did you pay OOP?

Your day sounds like so much fun before the camera incident! It must have been great to have a "favorites" day. I hope you get that new camera soon!

Thanks for the update and link to your PTR.:goodvibes

I'm sorry to hear about your dinner at Narcoossee's. I didn't realize that the Surf and Turf was a filet and a whole lobster. I just assumed the surf portion was a lobster tail.

I can't imagine how bad you felt when your camera got ruined.

Yay for new cameras!!!!! I enjoy taking pictures so much!!!!

It really does stink..... We didn't pay OOP for any meal - we used credits at fast food type places too.

It was so great until the stupid cheesecake had to go and melt :sad2:

No problem! Narcoosse's was ok... but I'll definitely order something different next time. And I stand corrected, the turf part is just the tail - sorry about that!!

January 10, 2008

Today we decided to sleep in again, have a nice breakfast on the balcony, and then head back to Hollywood Studios for at least the first half of the day since DH missed the Indiana Jones Stunt Show (he only got to watch the last 10 minutes). We arrived at Hollywood Studios and headed straight for Indiana Jones, but the showing wasn't for another hour, so we decided to do The Muppet 3D movie and then Star Tours. After that we grabbed two lemonades and went on to find a great seat. The show started and they began searching for volunteers. Of course DH and I were wearing our wedding ears and next thing we know we hear "How about a newlywed couple to join us".... We just so happened to be the only couple wearing wedding ears and she gave us a nod to come on down. I HATE HATE HATE getting up in front of people, but I figured what the heck, it's Disney - just do it Amber!! So we made our way to the front and everyone cheered for us :cool1: The "casting director" announced our names and that we had only been married for a few days - asked us to take bow for making it so long already - told us what we were going to do on stage - and sent us on up to get into costume. Once we were in costume and the show officially began the "director" said he needed someone really special to die in one scene and picked me. GREAT.... I'm already shaking like jello and now I have to DIE in front of God knows how many people?!?!?!? I reluctantly made my way front and center and followed the directions to die a slow and painful death after being "shot". After my performance the "director" said that I had a great career in the movies - selling popcorn popcorn:: This was of course the highlight of DH's day, mine too after I got over my stage fright!!!! We headed on back to our seats and enjoyed the rest of the stunt show.

After the show we headed over to ride Tower of Terror again and were stopped by a CM standing in front of the Tower of Terror. He asked if we had seen the Beauty and the Beast Stage Show yet and we told him no. He then gave us VIP passes for VIP seating at the show and told us to hand the passes to a CM 30-45 minutes before showtime and we would be given special seating. We went on ahead to the Tower of Terror since the wait was only 10 minutes - rode it twice - AGAIN - and the headed back to the beauty and the beast stage show. We handed our passes to a CM who ushered us to second row seats which had been roped off. There were only 3 other families who were seated there during the whole show. Of course with this being our first trip we were unaware of the ***insert name of singing CM's who perform before the show*** - I can't for the life of me remember their names, but it was AMAZING!!!!!!! Then all of a sudden after performing a few songs one of the guys in the group starts talking about falling in love, and getting married, and magic, and dreams, and honeymoons, and all that kinda stuff and then says that there is a honeymooning couple in the audience today and asks for everyone to give us a round of applause. They then call us up on stage and ask us where we are from, our names, when and where we got married, where we were staying, ect.... They then offered to sing us a song which we of course accepted. The sang "A Dream is a Wish You Heart Makes" and it was so great! At the end one of the guys turns to DH and says "now's the time to kiss her man!" DH kissed me in front of the whole audience and they all cheered - it was so amazing :cloud9: They also presented us with one of their CD's which is really cool and then we went back to our seats and the show began. This was one of my favorite things in Disney - I love Beauty and the Beast and this show was just magical!!! Even DH really enjoyed it!!!! After the show we decided to go and grab some lunch. We headed over to the Backlot Express and grabbed two burgers, two fries, two cokes, ,apple slices, and a chocolate mousse. It was great considering we were STARVING!!!!! After lunch we decided to hop on over to Epcot since we wanted to see more of the World's Showcase and had dinner reservations at Chefs De France. We arrived at Epcot and wandered around the World Showcase for about 2 hours. We browsed through alot of the shops, got Crepes for a snack in France, rode Maelstrom and the ride in Mexico, and just walked around hand in hand enjoying being married. It was wonderful!!! We stood watching the sunset and then prepared to watch Illuminations. We decided to view Illuminations from the bridge near France (I think that's where it was) since we had an ADR at Chefs de France at 9:30pm and Illuminations was at 9pm. Illuminations was beautiful!! It didn't make me tear up like Wishes did, but it was gorgeous none the less!

After the show we headed back to Chefs De France for dinner. We checked in and were immediately seated and ordered two unsweetened teas with extra lemon and sat back to decide on our appetizers. After the cheese fiasco at Narcoosee's the night before, DH decided to play it safe and stick with things he knew. DH and both decided on the Salade de chevre chaud which was baked goat cheese with walnuts, fresh grapes, tomatoes, endives and arugula salad. It was VERY good!!!!!!! I loved the combinations of all the flavors! Next we ordered our main courses. DH ordered the Plat de Cote de Boeuf au Cabarnet sur un lit de polenta which is Beef short ribs braised in Cabernet on a bed of polenta. He really enjoyed his meal. The only thing he didn't care for was the sauce on the ribs - he said it was a little too heavy. I ordered the Filet de Saumon, crepe de pommes de terre Coulis de poivrons rouge which in english is Grilled salmon served on a potato pancake with red pepper sauce. This was some of the best salmon I have ever eaten!!!! It was very mild, not fishy at all. The sauce was to die for - not too spicy, but by no meals mild. After polishing off our dinner we ordered coffee and dessert. I ordered the Vanilla Creme Brulee which was very rich, creamy, and delish. DH ordered the Salade de fruits infusee au the Earl Grey, sorbet mangue which was a fresh fruit salad infused with Earl Grey tea syrup and served with mango sorbet. DH really enjoyed the fruit and the mango sorbet was very good too! We really enjoyed our meal at Chefs De France. I'm not sure why it gets so many bad reviews here on the DIS :confused3 We really enjoyed it and will be going back in March for lunch. After dinner we headed back to AKL, took a dip in the hot tub, and headed off to bed after enjoying a truly magical day!

Wow wow wow! That sounds like a such a great day! I LOVE Beauty and the Beast. Must have been awesome to have the special seats and have them sing for you!
