After reading the new Mouseweddings site, I'm a little confused about the price of the coach. I thought it was around $2,700 plus tax, but I noticed that on the site it says you also have to pay 20% 'service charge' - it's the first time I've heard of that and it pushes the price up enormously  (This makes it considerably more expensive than a basic Escape/Intimate wedding). Does anyone know anything about this, and what it's for?

taken from mouseweddings.com:
Cinderella's Coach will cost you $2750 (plus 20% service charge and 6.5% tax),

I have never heard of a service charge for the coach or any transportation.... it isn't really what I would consider a service. Hopefully someone who has used the coach can confirm but I don't think that information is correct unless recently changed (which could be the case seeing how Disney changes it's mind every other day or so.)

I really hope someone can tell me this is not true, 'cos if it is I certainly won't be having it and I'd so got my heart set on it:sad1:

Have you called DFTW and asked them? I am wondering to since I am going to be using the coach as well...

I have to call again on Friday to (hopefully!) secure our 2nd date choice, so I guess I'll get the official paperwork with prices soon after.
I just feel as tho' costs are shooting up all around, as the MK photoshoot has increased by $200 so if the coach is more than I expected I'm wondering if I should just abandon the whole VR 'cos I'm not sure I could justify these higher prices and without sounding like a spoilt brat, if I can't have exactly what I want then there's little point going ahead - rant over!

as far as I was aware the tax was only on things like your cake or flowers or even your photo album if collected in the State of Florida. If the album is shipped home then you skip the tax. I hope this helps.

The coach does not have a service charge. The only things that get the 20% service charge (in addition to 6.5% tax) are food and beverage items.

yay! My dream will come true after all:cloud9:
Thanks for confirming that - it's already way too expensive.
It was the first time I'd heard of the SC, so thankfully it's not true:)

Thank you for starting this thread! I am so happy as well. Now we can still justify using the coach!

did you see the info on mouseweddings that mentioned the additional charge as well? I was Ok until I read that and then went into shock  Now it's back to normal again:)

Oops, that was my mistake. I did a cut and paste on a few items and accidentally left in the 20% service charge. The service charge only applies to catering. Sorry about that!

No problem, I'm just glad it's not true :) but at least it shows that we read all your hard work:goodvibes

I finally received my BEO. The coach is $2700 with no sales tax and no service fee. The price you see on their web site and wish book is the final price. While that is good news, it's still a lot of money. I hope we'll have the coach for about an hour, which would make it $45 per minute.

From what others have said, you're in it for about 15 minutes on your way from the GF to the WP, then a few more minutes after the ceremony - mostly for pics with DH. No where near an hour total, lucky to get 30 minutes.

I just wanted to 2nd this. My coordinator said that you use the coach for about a total of 20 minutes by the time it's all said and done.
