Cinderella's Castle - What is inside?

Sorry, it sounds dumb to ask but I cannot find the answer anywhere.

We've been to WDW once before but it was rushed trip so we did not pay much attention to the castle. Now we're planning another trip, a week this time So my son asked if we can go inside the castle and what's there to see? I looked on the web and this forum and it appears that you can go inside if you've got reservations for CRT or if you're the lucky winner of the suite.

Is there anything else? If so, do we need special passes/reservations for that?

To go "up and inside" the castle (into the spires, etc) you need to have reservations at the restaurant or have won the castle suite. But to just walk through is kind of cool too. There are these amazing mosaics that tell the story of Cinderella, and there's a kind of "castle vibe" of being inside a castle. But that's pretty much it. There are no dungeons or drawbridges, no secret compartments or hidden rooms. There used to be a gift shop, but I think it's all been taken over by BBB.

As the PP said, it's mostly mosiac depictions of scenes from Cinderella... very impressive, and quite breathtaking, but I'm not sure how excited your son would be about that. There's also the Bippity Boppity Boutique and Cinderella's Royal Table, a restaurant that's Princess Character Dining in the morning/afternoon and has a show featuring the Fairy Godmother in the evening... but I've never been inside either of those, so. D:

It's still worth it for the mosaic, I think.
