Has anybody heard if this was closing or changing back to CSC after the Happiest Celebration?

I honestly think this show is the worst stage show on all Disney property. Cinderella's Surprise Celebration was great! It had a story and it incorporated all the characters (including the Fab 5) There are no shows with Mickey Mouse anymore besides Fantasmic! Cinderellabration is frankly, really really boring... No story, mediocre music...and a waste of time if you ask me.

That's just one man's opinion. Am I alone?

This was in the allearsnet email I got this morning.

The Cinderellabration stage show, performed several times daily on the Forecourt Stage in the Magic Kingdom, will give its final performance on Saturday, September 16. The stage will then undergo a short rehab to prepare it for a new offering that will be introduced during Disney's "Year of a Million Dreams," which kicks off October 1, 2006.

Eeeehhh... while I won't go overboard on my negative perceptions of Cinderellabration, I would say you are not alone.

What I heard/read is that CSC will not be coming back, but a show very similar to it will debut sometime around 10/1. The reason for not just bringing CSC back is the required changes in staging. I understand that the new show will include some villain(s) -specifically Maleficent. Some princesses will be there, so will the Fab Five. I think Peter Pan, Wendy, and Captain Hook return as well. Not so sure about Chip and Dale. Anyhow, I guess we'll see what happens in October. I look forward to seeing whatever castle show is running then.

FINALLY, something we totally AGREE on!!
:thumbsup2

This is a sub-par (and that's being kind) Disney show.

And let's be frank, the "Castle Shows" have always been the least-fully-produced shows on Disney property.
They were simply "characters wiggling to a soundtrack".
Fun to look at, but not nearly as substantial as:

Festival of the Lion King
Beauty and the Beast On Stage
Fantasmic!
IllumiNations
Hunchback of Notre Dame
All the parades
even Tarzan Rocks! (cough)

BUT...
Cinderellabration is the lowest ebb of a Castle Show I've seen at WDW.
No plot, no humor, no heart, no villains...

It is, by Disney's own admission, a pared-down ("watered-down"?) version of a MUCH BETTER show that is produced at Tokyo Disneyland.
They didn't even care enough to give WDW a complete show.
I can only guess that they tried to take a FULL QUALITY show from another park and "shrink it down" to fit the lower budget alloted for a "Castle Show".
But that didn't stop them from offering it up (with PLENTY of AD budget $$) as a "Special 50th Celebration Attraction".
Walt always said to "UNDER-promise, and OVER-deliver".
That's why Cinderellabration is such a BIG disappointment in the quality I expect from Disney.

So let's hope the talented performers (and other production folks) who have been struggling to make this "hollow shell" into a "show" are given something better to work with in a few months.

Definately not. Most Disney shows follow a set pattern-happy singing and dancing, villan arrives, characters defeat villan, and everyone is happy again. This one is MISSING the villan part! Blasphemy!!

Part of what I love about Disney is the mythology. We can defeat any villan by using our own imagination and the help of others around us. We can make our own wishes come true if we just believe, bad things can happenm but the dream doesn't die. It's a universal story.

This show seems like it was engineered to sell more princess costumes and I won't miss it when it moves on.

It was BOUND to happen at some point! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Glad to see I'm not alone in that boat. I'm also glad to see it's closing in September so we can experience something better in January.

I just got back from MK and watching Cinderellabration. Saw lots of folks clapping. I will miss the show. Not every show has to have a villian.

I saw it on my first trip ever a few weeks ago. We liked it and my DD loved seeing all the princesses but it was not worth melting in the sun over. Expecially when we walked over to toon town right after and saw all the same princesses.

I wouldn't want to see it again though and would loved to have seen something with more characters.
