I just saw a promo for Cinderellabration on the WDW website. Is this show in the park already? If not when? Are advance tickets needed or is it like Beauty and the Beast in MGM where you just line up? princess:

Cinderellabration was imported from Tokyo Disney as a part of the 50th birthday celebration for Disneyland. The show has been running for just over a year. It is presented in the open air on the stage in front of Cinderella's castle, so it is available to everyone in the park; there is no separate admission or ticket required. It runs several times each day, so if you miss one show there should be an opportunity to catch another show later.

I've got one warning for you... if you are viewing this show with a little girl be prepared to have to stop and watch the show every time you pass by the castle. I made it through two trips with my nieces without ever having to see Cinderellabration, on my last trip in January my niece caught the tail end of the show and made me watch it every time we went by the castle after that. LOL We had to sit there for 20 minutes to wait to see the princesses.

Also, before the show starts everyone is sitting on the floor in front of the castle, but be warned that once it starts the adults always end up standing up, which means you have no choice but to stand as well. I ended up having to hold my niece every time because once the adults stood she couldn't see anything.

So is it not something that a person who is in a wheelchair could see, or is there a specail area for visitors in wheelchairs?
Thanks,
Gerri

For someone in a wheelchair, you pretty much have to get there early to try to get in the front. I do believe they have started trying a wheelchair section on the sides of the stage. But they are on the far left and far right sides of the stage. And they are small, so they could fill up quickly.

Yes this is annoying - the show they had before Cinderellabration (drawing a blank at the moment) - mostly everyone sat in the front and watched (occassionally there was an annoying person standing and videotaping, but otherwise you could easily see). Now everyone stands and it is virtually impossible for little kids to see. The park CM's should really do something about this.

I heard that Cinderellabration will be ending as of November 2006. CSC should be coming back.

Hope I don't offend anyone here, but DH, DD8, DS8 and I were uninterested about 1/2 way through (and I liked it the best). Nothing like Lion King at AK or Little Mermaid at MGM or the great sidewalk/impromptu shows at Epcot. Take a peek and then have fun on the rides instead. :wizard:

They can't. There is no rule that says it is a standing or sitting show. So people can do either. And unfortunately there are some rude people. For the record, I've had more people standing at both shows (Cinderella's Surprise Celebration and Cinderellabration) then sitting.

Last summer my DD3 was so excited that we just so happen to be at MK on the exact day that Cinderella was to be crowned a Princess! ;) Now, when we return this summer, I'll try to avoid being in the area at that time.

Besides once was enough. Unfortunately, I found it to be hot, crowded, and difficult to see, plus the kids were getting pretty restless. Nope, don't need to do it again.

They could have a rule that if you're sitting in front area from the road to the castle, you need to sit. We saw the Surprise Celebration a couple of times in previous visits - only one person standing in front of us total in these shows. During our last visit, 80% of the people were standing for the Cinderellabration - With 3 kids - I could only hold one on my shoulders. It was rather annoying that we couldn't sit, relax and enjoy the show. How hard would it be for people to sit so everyone can see?

If I could just use my daughter's fairy wand :wizard:

I agree with the warning. :smickey:

I totally see your reasoning. However, some people like to tape the show or take pictures- and that is really hard from the ground.

Could be very hard for people who can't sit and stand quickly/easily.

I have seen MANY performances of Cinderellabration and it varies whether people sit or stand--you just never know what will happen from one performance to the next---it depends on the the make-up of the crowd. Frankly, I'm not able to sit on the concrete and then stand up again--and I believe this is a problem for many older people. At the same time, I don't stand up in the front either. Personally, I think that people who sit down to wait for the show and then stand up at the very last minute are very rude. If you are going to stand for the show, then stand while you wait so that people can position themselves around you in such a way that they can see. If you can't stand for an extended period, then alert people around you that you'll be standing for the show so they know what to expect. My pet peeve--amd hope I don't get flamed for this--is the moms/dads who stake out spots in the front rows, stand as the show starts AND lift their child on their shoulders!!! I understand the shoulders thing when you are standing further back--but it happens all the time with people up front and it is just plain thoughtless.

Solutions for all:

If you can't sit and then get back up, stand behind (on the parade route) or off to the side.

If you want to film stand on the parade route (I had no problem filming in the past while sitting - missing the issue here)

I along with many others could sit with our kids and not have to put them on shoulders just so they could see.

There - we're all happy. :bounce:  :Pinkbounc :thumbsup2 :cool1:
