I think I know the financial answer, but doesn't the expression on a little girl's face make it worth it? (in my case, 4yo granddaughter).

Specifically, we'll have a party of 9 (only the one child), and we're in two resort rooms, so we're buying the Deluxe DP for only 5 people in the party, but sharing across all 9. That works out to 10 meal credits for each of us, to use over 5 full days, plus arrival and departure day.

At the moment, all 9 are in favor of CRT, mainly to see the look on the 4yo's face. They think that can fill in for their "lost" meal credit with snacks, cheaper CS meals OOP, or even leftovers or other refrigerator items in our villa.

Did you guys think it was worth 2 meal credits, financial or otherwise?

The food certainly isn't. You are absolutely paying to eat in the castle and for the princesses. That said, CRT is one of the most assembly-line of the princess meals. The girls won't spend long. Akershus is better in that respect, and cheaper.

I think you are in THE prime situation to do CRT. Not only do you have the 4 yr old child that will never see it the same way again, but you're also getting THE best value out of your dining plan. If I did the math correctly (and the child is in the room with the DxDDP), you guys are "paying" about $17 per meal credit for the 9 of you. That makes CRT a GREAT value financially as well.

I love the sound of that, sharonabe! Would you mind sharing your calculations?

Sure! I just did it for one night's worth:

106.68 x 4 = 426.72 + 48.19(Child) = 474.91 divide by 3 (meals per night) = 158.30 divide by 9 (people using) = 17.59

Did I reason that out correctly? It seems logical to me, but I could be wrong.

474.91/15 credits total per day = 31.66 per credit. So, CRT comes out to 63.32 per person.

I think the memories, and pictures you will get (with Cinderella downstairs via photopass, and your own pictures with the other princesses) will be memories to last a lifetime for your whole family, especially for DD4.

She will never be 4 again, and never be more thrilled to eat in Cinderella's castle.

Yes and no. I do think CRT is worth the 2 credits because it is such a unique experience. However, I think 4 is too young to really get the most our of it. We went when DD and the friend we were traveling with were both 6. Their reactions we perfect but DD doesn't really remember the experience. Its not a Disney highlight for her. Your 4 year old probably won't remember it but of course you'll have some great photos.

Do you expect to visit again within the next year or 2? If so, I would wait and go to CRT on your next trip when she's just a bit older. If you don't think you'll make it back though, go ahead and book CRT now. You won't regret it.

Are you saying more table time interaction at Akershus?

Yes. Also, there is additional interaction via the princess parade.

At CRT, they have a wishing star thing, but the princesses aren't really involved, let alone in a way that involves dancing with little kids.

We did both CRT and Askershus on our last trip. Our kids don't remember A at all, but they have specifically requested CRT for our next trip. The loved the castle, the props given at the table, and the wishing star.

None of my kids are particularly into princesses (two are boys), but they still loved the experience.

That's good to hear. How much time should we plan for the experience at each of the restaurants?

My wife and I took our DD6 and DD3 when they were 4 and 18-months (she was no charge but still got a waffle). DD6 still talks about it almost 2-years later. We went for breakfast and found the food to be good...but you are definitely paying for the experience. With that said, if you have 9 adults agreeing on something like that I'd say the planets have aligned and go for it!

I was just going to ask a similar question. We initially booked the DxDP because we had CRT, Mickey's BYBBQ and another signature restaurant booked but due to the ROL schedule, we had to choose between ROL and MBYBBQ and ROL won, lol. So we switched to the regular dining plan.

Ok. That said, should we use 2 dining credits or pay OOP for CRT? Or just skip it since we're doing Bon Voyage breakfast and Akershus? DD7's favorite princesses are Rapunzel and Ariel, which will both be at BV.

All thoughts, comments, opinions are welcome
