Cinderella VR

I am having my fairytale VR in June. Okay...I've bought my dream dress, my best friend gave me the most beautiful jewelry for it. I have all my Cinderella invites, thank you scrolls, camera tents, cake top...all of it. DH comes home the other day and decides that he is going to dress as a pirate for our VR. Now i am thinking...oh no! He's looking at the whole outfit including hat! Well looks like its gonna be Cinderella meets her Prince Pirate! Am I crazy or does anyone else think pics and video will look a bit bizarre? I don't have the heart to tell DH that I'm not thrilled with the idea, as he doesn't get excited about much and he's like a little boy with this whole idea that I don't want to spoil it for him. Any ideas how to incorporate POC into the Cinderella theme without it looking a tad silly? Thanks for any help.

maybe you could go for a masked ball themed celebration with cinderella, the prince PIRATE and have your wedding party &/or guests dress up with gilded masks or themed outfits (think old world france & pirates - both have gold) watch the movie 'ever after' with drew barrymore which is an updated version of cinderella that takes place in france and has a cast of gypsy's (kind of like pirate style)

You need to explain to DH that while you are having a Cinderella "theme", it is not a costume party, and that if he really wants to dress as a pirate perhaps he should get married on the boat at Treasure Island in Las Vegas - TO SOMEONE ELSE!

Have you seen the outfit? Is it really bad or can you work w/ it? Captain Hooks jacket, pants, and boots wouldn't be horrible if he doesn't wear the hat. Try to work w/ him and find him an outfit he wants that doesn't clash with your dress and theme. It is his day too, and I know a few times during the planning I forgot that b/c I was so concerned about everything being perfect.

Go all in! Have a friend dress as Prince Charming as if you're going to be "marrying" them & have your hubby crash the ceremony as a pirate! That's what Jack Sparrow would do for his lady! It will be a hoot! Your guests will get a big kick - you'll get to be Cinderella & your hubby will get to be his pirate.
What better way? I'd bet this excitement he's showing is one of the very reasons you married him in the first place. Why crush it?
