I am going to Disney World in November with my husband, my 9 year old daughter, and her 9 year old best friend. My daughter has her heart set on getting a make over at BBB (she wants to do this more than anything)and she wants to do a princess character meal. Cinderella is her favorite princess but she likes them all. I am trying to decide if Cinderella's Royal Table is worth the $$$. We are not on the dining plan. I was wondering what characters are at the Castle and which meal do you prefer - breakfast or lunch? Oh and one other question - if i wait until we get to WDW to buy her costume at the World of Disney Store at DTD, does anyone know if the princess dresses are made in a size girls 12? Thanks.

Not a big fan of CRT. We prefer 1900 park fare. Not only is the $ better but we prefer the dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, the evil step sisters and the fairy godmother.
At CRT I have always felt rushed and have never enjoyed the food.

The biggest size the have for costumes is a large-which is a 10/12. DD's Jasmine costume is still hanging in her closet from 2008 and at the time it was the biggest costume they carried. We now bring our own as she out grown the gowns at BBB.

:worship: CRT in my opinion is SOOOOOOO worth it. :thumbsup2 Your eating in the CASTLE in the MK. WOW! Don't get much better.
The food os good to.

Thank you for your input. My original thought was to go to 1900 Fare for Dinner. I think the variety of characters will be nice. And i have given thought to doing a carriage ride at Port Orleans Riverside or for Fort Wilderness afterwards.

We took our DDs to CRT, as well as Park Fare. I'd say they had more fun at 1900 Park Fare. The Tremaines are pretty funny.

However, it is CRT they talk about still. Whenever they see the castle come up before a Disney movie, they point, smile & say "We've been there".

Now, my DDs were 5 - so they are a little younger than your DD. However, to them it was beyond the food choices, it was magical to them to be in the castle.

We always do CRT. We do lunch. I have never had aproblem getting an ADR there for lunch. You meet Cinderella in the lobby downstairs for a keepsake picture and an autograph. Then you're taken upstairs to the dining room. There you meet Snow White, Belle, Sleeping Beauty and Jasmine. My DW and DD5 and DS7 all love going to the castle. We have never felt rushed while there. It's the one thing we "must" do when at the MK.

Skip it - we did once we GOT there.

You will have 30 seconds to have your photo taken with Cindy and then go upstairs where you will be presented with the same menu you will find a Port Orleans Riverside's Boatrights....for 40% more.

I was traveling with a walking boot, crutches and a scooter and they were not helpful at all regarding handicapped issues.

We had made the reservations at 7:000001 am 180 days out and were very excited. It did not live up to the anticipation.

They did graciously refund our $$$ - (we had skipped our photo with Cindi because they were rushing people through --- gave it up for someone else to take advantage of).

Skip it

We absolutely love it. We have done it twice and doing it again this year. The princess you meet do change. Cinderella is always in the lobby and upstairs we have seen Ariel, Snow White, the Fairy Godmother, Aurora, Mary Poppins, Belle, Jasmine.
We have done the 1900 as well and love that one too - lots of food there. The only thing I didn't like was the hassle and the rush to get there.
The best way to do it IMO is to do the BBB first and then head upstairs to meet the princesses

My CRT story. I got up early, made the phone call and was able to get a table for 8, early breakfast. I was so worried the week before, thinking I'd never be able to get it, I drove my dh nuts!!! Well, we all enjoyed our breakfast, paid a fortune for 8, but I thought it was worth it. It really is magical to be inside the castle inside the MK. To shorten my story, after our trip we were discussing our favorite things, meals included. CRT made noones list but mine. Go figure.

What I enjoy is the fact that you are eating inside the castle. Both of my girls have experienced it and they loved it. There was only one time I didn't enjoy it. My DD was 4 at the time and was really into the princesses. The characters we got were Aladdin, Mary Poppins, Wendy, and Peter Pan. Cinderella came out much later.

We loved it. It was the highlight of our trip. My girls also did BBB mid morning before our lunch. We are going back for breakfast this time on our first morning. We thought it was a terrific way to start the vacation.

like many Disney restaurants loved and hated. We have been three times and I walked out each time not worrying about the money I spent. We have always done lunch. That's partly because dining habits and partly because of touring habits. My wife and I have had three of the five entrees (the menu hasn't changed much over the last three years) and have settled on the Major Domo's Favorite Pie. The best way I can describe it is a more refined version of shepherds' pie.

This year was the first time we have gone with the MK BBB open so our daughter went a couple of hours before hand and then rode a few rides. She was ear to ear smiles throughout the meal.

You asked about the characters. Cinderella is always downstairs. There are four princesses and/or leading ladies in the dining room. The oned we have seen - in order:

First trip

Belle
Aurora
Snow White
Fairy Godmother

Second

Belle
Snow White
Alice
Mary Poppins

Third

Ariel
Jasmine
Belle
Aurora

With two DDs (7/5), CRT is always the choice. They get more princesses than Park Fare. We always choose breakfast, as the food is better. I heard the lunch menu has changed, but it was soooo bad the last time, I am not willing to try it. I like the buffet selection at Park Fare better, but the food there has declined over the years as well.

Well, I believe everyone should do it at least once. It's a stunning dining room, and it's lovely to have the princesses come around. The view out over Fantasyland is gorgeous!

I recommend doing BBB at 8:05 (first appt of the day) then hang in Fantasyland til lunch at 11:45 (first seating of the day).

And yes, 10/12 is the largest size they sell in the parks. There's no way to tell until you get there how they will fit. I'd bring one from home.

CRT for lunch! We were there in June. We weren't rushed. The food was excellent. The interaction was great. The experience -- priceless! We would have paid them more if they had asked us to! :lmao:

We have done CRT for every trip since my oldest DD's 3rd birthday trip. I think the girls think it is just part of the experience now (Lord help us if we ever can't get a ressie). I think DH and I prefer to go to lunch at CRT, but the girls seem to enjoy the breakfast more, so I always ask for breakfast and if I can't get it do lunch. We have also done dinner here and it was our least favorite of the 3 meals offered because I guess my girls rather seeing the princesses than the Fairy Godmother and Cinderella's mice friends. We have paid OOP before and didn't think it was too much to spend (if you think of it as paying for the experience, pictures, and a meal and not just paying for the food), and have done it on the Dining Plan and thought it was worth the 2TS. In total we have eaten at CRT 5 times and never had a bad experience. I've never felt like the visit with Cinderella downstairs was rushed nor have I felt rushed at the meal. The wait staff is very attentive. We have even had our waiter stage a very low-key (so as not to disturb the other diners) swordfight with DH. I'm not going to say the food is the best on property, but it's certainly tasty, but as I said earlier, to us, it's not really about the food here, it's about eating in the castle with the princesses.

We haven't eaten at 1900 Park Fare for dinner in a few years (it has been so long ago that the Tremaines weren't part of the cast when we ate there). I understand that the Tremaines add a lot to the character interaction there. I think what made us unimpressed with 1900 Park Fare was that it seemed really loud and the tables seemed really close together. I also remember the food here as just ok. That said, we are going to try out the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare on our November trip.
