Cinderella movie question/observation

See this is what happens to us when we are forced to watch the same movies or shows over and over and over!!!!! :lmao: Right now we are on a rotation of Cars...Nemo...Incredibles...and although not Disney...Clifford and Caillou. I have been wondering why Caillou is the only one on that show that doesn't have hair???

DS asked me that so many times when he was little that we actually looked it up! - The PBS website said it was so different kinds of kids could identify with him. (He wasn't blond or brunette or red-haired already; so he could be just like them.)

And the Max and Ruby thing ALWAYS bothered us too.

To the OP's question - I haven't watched Cinderella since my nieces were little, but I guess I assumed there was a gardener who set the traps.

:lmao::rotfl: I am dying....these are the same questions I ask myself when we watch these shows! Especially Max & Ruby! Where the heck are their parents? My DS (6) thinks they were caught by a mad farmer! Why has social services picked them up? Why aren't they living w/their grandmother? Why is Franklin the only one with a name? Everyone else is called by what they are. I always thought that Little Bill lived in NYC until his mom went on a trip to NYC. What? I am so confused! :sad2: What really worries me is that I am noticing this stuff! I really need to get out more! :confused3

I know. I told my DH my observations on Cinderella and he just shook his head in disbelief that I put that much thought into a kids movie.

I think that the better question about Max and Ruby is

A.) Where does Ruby get all that PATIENCE from? If I could bottle her patience and sell it I would be a friggin' millionare! All I here on that show is her constantly saying in the most polite voice EVER "no, no max..." Just once I would like her to get to the point I get on a daily basis and scream "how many times do I HAVE to tell you....!!!"

B.) who wrote their theme song because he/she is an evil genius. Its just the title of the show over and over again, yet I ALWAYS get the stupid song stuck in my head all day! :rolleyes1:scared1:

We look at it from a different perspective.... We all think Ruby is SOOO BOSSY! Granted, it's not fair that her neglectful parents have left her to raise her annoying little brother, but she takes the bossy thing a bit far!

And she always had to sit down and talk to her friend. They definately need a cordless phone so she can learn to multi-task!

DS hates the episode in the candy store where Max asks for candy and she keeps giving him an apple while she tastes all the candy... she is so typical oldest child! :rotfl:

And what is up with Curious George? Why is it that he lives with a man with a yellow hat but doesn't even know his name? He knows everyone elses name? I don't get it! And why is Calliou so whiney? He drives me crazy! And his mother, where did she get that outfit? Talk about mom jeans! Geesh! She gives us a bad rap!

And I was recently watching Snow White with my DD and I forgot how sad it was in the end. She is basically dead in that creepy coffin and all of a sudden the prince kisses her (yuck) and she wakes up and walks away with him! What's that about?

And Sleeping Beauty, she wakes up from her sleep from yet another Prince Charming and she automatically starts dancing! Wouldn't you think she would be upset at her parents for letting live with 3 old ladies for so long? I don't get it!

I can go on forever.....:lmao:

...but do you think J. Lo ever watched Dragon Tales before naming her twins?
:lmao:

Here's one... My kids love Ni Hao Ki-Lan so it's on regularly here, but the snowy episode has GOT to go. They repeatedly say in Mandarin the word xue which is pronounced shea-ah but when repeated by my kids sounds like they are saying sh!t.

OMG, this whole thread is hilarious....my DBF is always the one who asks questions like yours OP, my take on the mouse in the trap was the gardener was setting them and Cinderella has a "system" in place with the other mice and birds to let her know when one has been trapped. LOL

I always thought Cailou was a whiny kid too, but DDnow13 loved him when she was younger so we watched it....LOL I'm soooo glad they are over that show, the one I do miss is Blue's Clues. I loved that show......one year DDnow13 was Blue and her Dad was Steve, that was the CUTEST costume ever!!!!! :) Anyway, we still sing the Present Song on bdays....DBF thinks I'm crazy but I love it. :)

Interesting. I was just listening to The Little Mermaid 2 (the one with Ariel's Daughter). There's this whole scene where they tell King Triton (who's apparently had some kind of accident since the last movie where his head is pinched into half it's original size) that Melody (Ariel's daughter) can't know him because he's a merman, and she has to be kept away from the sea. He's got the trident. Why can't he just give himself some legs and go for a visit now and then?
I've ALWAYS wondered this! :rotfl: Also, she can obviously sign her name at the bottom of Ursula's contract, so why doesn't Ariel just get a pen and paper and write a letter to Eric to tell him that yes, she saved him, and she's the one he's been looking for? That would have saved her a lot of time right there.

I almost typed that yesterday!! I mean, unless she just practiced her name in perfect cursive, right? Then I thought, well, he wouldn't fall in love with her just because she wrote that she saved him. Of course, did he really get to know her enough in three days to fall in love? Or was he just in love with her voice? See, getting way too analytical here.

This whole thread is cracking me up! I literally LOL at each response. My hubby and I often wonder these exact same things!

:rotfl2: So true!!! My DD has told me I'm too analytical of movies but after watching some of them for the billionth time -- you do start wondering "if X is true then why is Y happening?"

I haven't wondered about the mouse trap but that is a good question. I'm not even sure I've actually SEEN Cinderella in full.

Then again as someone else told me with Sleeping Beauty -- WHY in the world would the fairies take her back to the castle on her 16th birthday when they knew that was the day of the spell! Why not take her back the next day! :rotfl:

I know I keep trying to inform DD that in reality Giselle from Enchanted isn't a Princess but Nancy is!!!

I cracked up about the present song from Blue's Clues! We still sing that here too! We have that episode on video but haven't watched it in ages. However, whenever I say "it's present time"....singing ensues.

When I was teaching, I would teach the Planet Song from Blue's Clues (DD11 favorite show as a toddler-actually I've caught her watching it still, but she claims she is just watching it with DS4 :happytv:-yeah right!). Anyways, some of my students the past few years have siad they remember the song, you'd be surprised how many fourth graders loved singing that song! :cloud9:

This thread is awesome :lmao:

Another non disney one but it has always bugged me, why in Spongebob do they have lifeguards? :rotfl2:

That one has confused the heck out of me since I was a little girl. Also, why can Goofy talk, but not Pluto. My Mom never could come up with a good answer when I asked her those questions

I asked my mom that when I was little... she said because goofy is a dad and pluto isnt, and dads should be talkers and kids should be listeners

What I hate it the wonderpets. My son has been a binky fan since birth and still is, which is probably why he has a lisp. Well, the one animal, can't remember which, on wonderpets slurs her words and talks "baby talk"... which drives me nuts. It's supposed to be educational, but yet they don't pronounce the words right, so when kids are singing along or trying to learn a new word... they are saying it wrong :headache:

And Calliou... isn't he like 5 or 6 years old? I don't know about the bald thing either... but also, why do his parents carry him everywhere??

Isn't the better question really to wonder why Cinderella would think its healthy and hygenic to live in a room covered in mouse turd and bird dung? Hanging out with disease infested rhodents and birds can't do anything either for her health or sanity. She's an Oprah-talks-to-crazy-cat-lady like special waiting to happen.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is too literal about these movies. I'm convinced that the Beast is guilty of domestic abuse (locks the girl up and is verbally abusive), Ariel is would have bombed the SATs since she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I can only imagine Snow White's shocked horror when she realizes that Charming whants her to do WHAT?! on thier wedding night. I'm also fairly certain that eventually the Captain will leave Mulan for a more conventional girl with teeny feet. How ever hawt a cross dressing warrior is in the short term, a conventional wife makes for an easier and more comfortable life.

LMAO!!! :lmao:
