i think potterland was underestimated and look how successful that has been so it may be a little silly to be guessing the success of Legoland at this stage.

For sure, its location isnt going to help.

However, like potterland, its likely to reduce the number of days people plan to spend on disney property, and possibly the amount of money people spend whilst on site.

Unlike potterland, its aimed a completely difference age/audience, so who knows for sure at this point what effect it may have???

I agree, it looks much refined over the California park, though it will be smaller and with less room to grow, granted LLCA is almost out of room now. Also it appears it will have 1 or 2 more rides offering high capacity. Although I may need to wait for a grand child to make the visit.

I disagree. I imagine LLFL will have park attendance that will only be a portion of Seaworld. In California the attendance has grown recently as it's added attractions.

I do like Legoland, I like Legos have given them to kids as gifts many times. I like that part of the park. The best things at Legoland is some queues have an area where the kids can play with megablocks while the parents loop back to them. It's a nice place to visit.

But Legoland has big problems if you've been to the big theme parks. "Legoland's castle will hold one of the franchise's most popular rides: the Dragon Coaster." This is the only ride with a high capcity, so most other things have long waits. So you spend a lot of time waiting for very simple rides. The other two rollercoasters in LLCA are a wild mouse, and Goofy's Barnstormer type ride. Adults can be done with LL in a few hours, you go purely for the kids. And LL is really for kids 3-7, not families.

Not many people are going to give up a day to go to a park that is much smaller and less fun for everyone. People who go, might find it a mistake. Many will go to try it and never go again.

Many people go to US and go again. Imagine how many are under 10 that went and would like to go again for IOA?





"All those elements you see on the castle are direct pulls from Lego products," said Bill Vollbrecht, the park designer for Legoland Florida, which is scheduled to open in October. "In all Lego parks, that's the centerpiece to the park — the 'Castle Hill' area."

This looks really out of context. I believe Lego products are the centerpiece, the attractions are semi made to look like lego models. The Castle will not and is not in the middle like in the Magic Kingdom. Catle Hill only gets more use because it has the one high capacity ride.

Well, potter land opened during the peak of harry potter as a franchise.
Lego, not so much.
And the second people knew about potter land, it hit the fan.

Cinderella Castle is what it is, Potter castle is what it is... and the same with lego Land.. why should any of this matter.

Id be more concerned with a group of people from Texas having their hats put the DHS to shame, actually I wouldn't have a problem with that either.

To me, being a Disney fan 1st, I see the additions of other theme parks being a good thing. It should drive Disney to continue to add to, plussing their parks. Competition can be good.

I agree with that. I've been in the park in CA, and it's on a much smaller scale than Disneyland, and is geared towards a much younger audience as well.

Not as much. Uni doesn't sell itself as a week-long destination like Disney. Also, as ChrisFL said, Legoland goes for a younger demographic than Potter--a demo the MK is squarely aimed at.

Not sure if it's been announced yet, but I expect Legoland may be added to the "flexticket" with Uni and Sea World. I think ultimately Uni has more to gain by making sure families have off-site transportation than they have to lose.
