Help…. My DD wants to be Cinderella for Halloween…and I can’t find a dress that fits and isn’t ITCHY. I’m been through 4 so far. And they were either too itchy or they were too long for her. Any thought on where I can get one or even have one custom made. I would like one that LOOKS like Cindy’s dress not a dress up dress, if you know what I mean.

THANKS!!!

Maura

Planning on going to WDW any time soon? The dress they sell there is expensive, but not itchy. Or you could ebay for a disney world cinderella dress. I just watched one go for 30 bucks, including all the accessories.

I make my DD's princess dresses (She doesn't like itchy either). But I have heard good things about www.mydressuptrunk.com (I think that is what it is called)

I just bought a Cinderella dress at www.mydressuptrunk.com for my DD2. Its not itchy at all and she'll wear it much longer then she would her other princess dresses. I was skeptical about ordering one because I wasn't sure about the quality. They ship very quickly. But DD2 likes it & her waistline isn't all red after wearing it like the other dresses. Tried to get DD4 to get one but she wants to do the castle package at BBB for her bday and pick out her own dress.

Good luck!

i actually tried my dress up trunk and lillian vernon and the fit was really bad for my daughter. just fit her in the bodice (barely) but then WAY too long.

they were very nicely made. but just not going to work. i'm thinking i'm going to need to have one made, just not sure where i can get that done.

Thanks for the link! I saved it so I can order a princess dress for our daughter for our upcoming trip. We have our fingers crossed that there will be a Pirate and Princess Party while we are there!

Have you looked at gymboree.com? they have a princess dress in their costumes that looks just like Cinderella.

My dress up trunk also sells on ebay. I just ordered 4 dresses, a red cloak, and the fullness slip. They have a lot of "make your own" package deals or you can just email them with what you want, and they will put it together at a discount.

I can't attest to the quality because we haven't received them yet, but I did read lots of positive reviews. I'm really hoping they work my itchy DD :)

I haven't looked at them closely, as dd is going to be Belle this year. But I have seen Cinderalla costumes in many stores and they didn't look like they had the crinolin lining. I've seen them in Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Party City and I think I saw them in Kohls. If you have any of these local to you, call them and ask instead of driving all over. Good luck.

The Cinderella dress at the Disney Store is beautiful and there is a lining between the crinolin and their body so it's not itchy. A little pricey, however, the Disney Store online had them for 40% off. I'm not sure how long the sale was going on so check quickly!

We tried the disney store and the skirt is lined. However the sleee are not and they were very itchy.

I tried the dress up trunk and i couldn't get a size that fit her correctly.

If you're going to have to have one made anyway, wouldn't it be easier to get the dress from mydressuptrunk (which I highly recommend as well) and just have it hemmed shorter?

I just had to tell you that this made me howl with laughter. My DD4 is like this with EVERYTHING she wears. This is too scratchy, that is too tight, these pants are too stiff, that shirt is too "bouncy" :rotfl2:

My DH blames me because I refuse to wear turtle necks - as if this clothing avoidance is genetic.

I had my Mom custom make DD her Cindy dress for our upcoming trip. Her first comment on trying it on? "It's scratchy" I don't know if she's going to wear it or not, but I'll at least make her try it on so I can take a picture for my poor Mom! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I ordered 3 dresses and the underskirt for my DD a couple of years ago from mydressuptrunk and we love them. Have had no problem with the fit at all. They are so soft and comfy. The dresses we have bought at the Disney Store or WalMart have always been so itchy and uncomfortable that DD wont wear them. Even if the inside is soft, the outside is itchy and she feels that with her arms or hands touching the itchy materials.

Check out the kids boutique thread on this board. Ther are quite a few talented seamstresses over there that are willing to help. The first page has a link to all the outfits that have been posted. Everyone is gearing up for Halloween, so you'll see quite a few Cinderella costumes/customs.

My DD wore the Lillian Vernon Cinderella dress last year - I would suggest going down a size, it ran a little big. It was ok for Michigan halloween with all the layers under it.
