Cinderella dinner @ Grand Floridian

You all have made me feel so much better about our decision to switch from CRT to the GF!!!! I hope my dd will like it as much as your children have! Hopefully she will get to dance with the prince too. She doesn't know it yet, but we're going to the BBB BEFORE we go to dinner so she can get a "princess makeover!" We made late dinner reservations, about 8:00 PM, just so we could do the BBB. Hopefully everything will go well.
How do you think my 2 year old ds will react to all of this hoopla? Any suggestions on how to make him feel more included in the celebration?

1900 Park Fare had some of the best character interaction of my trip!!!! Drizella sat down at my table and proceeded to chat me up for about 10 mins about hunting for princes. She told me she was waiting for Phillip to drop Aurora bc she sleeps so much, but beyond that, most men in the Kingdom were taken. Prince Charming chatted away with me too for awhile and commented on my Cinderella tshirt. Cinderella was so sweet and she asked if I had a prince, when I told her no, she gave me her top tip of losing a shoe - "it's the only sure way". The stepmother was a hoot too and really gave the kids at the table next to us a hard time about doing chores..lol.

Too funny! That is is the way it should be IMO, though you must have went at a time that wasn't too busy!

Where can we see the Mice from Cinderrella 2 yrs ago we had dinner at 1900 park faire saw Cinderrella and Mice has it changed /:cool1: :cool1:

Please forgive my ignorance, we have never eaten at a table service restaurant at Disney but would like to try this dinner on our next trip. Is there a dress code for this restaurant or can we dress casually?

We had breakfast here a few years ago & will be having dinner this trip. Dress is park casual. Little girls often wear their costumes.

Yes, Suzy and Perla are no longer there. The characters now are Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Temaine, Anastacia and Drisella.

I was there in October and the menu was from different countries. Is it still like that now has anybody just come back I leave next week... finally sounds good to say that. There are 20 o us for dinner and some are VERY picky.

Thanks for the info

OK, we went last September and had a wonderful time. Our daughter is 4 and had been to the BBB at DTD before dinner. Our son is 2 and he had as much fun as my daughter. Now, he has been exposed to the princesses for a while now, knows them all by name thanks to his big sister, so he seemed to be just as thrilled at meeting Cindy as my daughter was. She made a big deal out of calling him her "little prince" and danced with him and then the Prince showed him how to bow! It was a hoot!

I really don't think you need to do anything extra to get your son involved in the fun, he certainly won't be excluded so don't even worry about that. Maybe have him watch Cinderella a few times before the trip so he is familiar with the characters and the rest should take care of itself.

While we were there the meal was actually served at the Grand Floridian Cafe because Park Faire was being rennovated, also we had the Fairy Godmother and Pearla and Suzy instead of Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters. That being said, it is already a "must do" for our trip next April.

Have a wonderful time!

We visit 1900 Park Fare every trip and I had my rehearsal dinner there. (I was married at the WDW in 2006.)

We have never been disappointed with 1900 Park Fare. We have allergies in the family and the kitchen has always been accomodating plus the character interaction is, IMHO, some of the best in the World.

Cinderella's Royal Table is more of an expereince than a meal for us. We've been a bunch of times there as well, but now I only go for dinner if I can schedule during the fireworks. I've seen them enough times now to really enjoy looking at them through the windows and not feel that I'm missing anything. The food is really not that good - it's not a reason to dine there.

I really think that you're making a great decision for your family! Have a fabulous trip!

park fare is our MUST DO meal every time we go to wdw! IMO it is the best they have...we have two ds and one dd and the boys loved it also....the food is really good.

we did my daughter's 6th birthday there and had a wonderful time! She wore a princess dress, danced with prince charming, and the characters really paid her a lot of attention. The food was great, and she has some fabulous memories of it. I did order one of their small inexpensive chocolate cakes, but she also got a bday cupcake, an autographed placemat, and a tiara. Fun, fun! I have pictures somewhere if you want to see them (and if I can figure out how to post them!)

That's weird, we were there last Oct. as well and the food was the regular buffet we have always enjoyed. Are you sure you're thinking of the right place? I know at the International Storytelling Grand Gathering Experience the food is from different countries and they have some characters and a main character named "Rose" or something, could that have been it?

My DD is 3 and is in LOVE with Cinderella. We are doing lunch at Akershus on the Sat we are there and dinner at 1900 on the Sun we are there. We are also doing Ohana, Hoop Dee Doo, 1900 for breakfast, and then a lunch at Rainforest and a dinner at Pecos Bill (we are only doing a weekend). I cant wait.

Have they changed the food at the buffet? I don't remember there being food from other countries... :confused3

We stayed at the GF last October. I had made a ressie for the breakfast and not the dinner. Each night we passed through there my DD5 at the time, was saying, "When do we get to go there?" I felt so awful. We watched for a bit while waiting to eat at the cafe and the interaction looked phenomenal! The first night we walked by it, the only thing we heard were Anastasia and Drizella putting on a little act. They were very loud so that's when we stopped to watch. We stopped and watched each afternoon/evening we passed through there. We are going again this October and it was the first ressie that I made! We will NOT miss this one at all. I can't wait!:cool1:

They do have makeovers for boys at the BBB as well so that's an option.
