I saw a castle for sale @ WL when we were there that was $65 or so that had people w/it (can't remember it all & thought it was neat)
Was just looking @ TOysRus catalog & see a castle there for the same amount of $$. Can anyone compare these 2 items for me? Which one is a better deal or are they completely different?
WE will be back to WDW before Christmas so I could still get the one I saw done there - but I just don't know....

I haven't seen the castle at WDW (I don't know how we missed it ;) ) But we just got my DD-6 the toys r us one.

It is made for the Barbie size Cinderella and Prince. It came with a few accessories-brush, perfume etc. and a little bit of furniture-bed, chairs. It is really cute but not much to it.

Her favorite things are the glass slippers, the stairs and the clock that strikes midnight.

Oh I forgot it has this platform that makes the dolls "dance"

Hope this helps. :wave2:

I am so torn with which one to get....the WDW one or Toys R Us one....they are relatively the same price.

OK, I never seen the one from Toys R Us, but my we got the Castle from WDW last summer for the girls, and let me tell you, its so coo, it has all the characters, (mini) also it plays de music like the WDW music, and the details are nice, like you turn the lights on and you see the shadows of the princesses and prince, also the cinderella slipper on the cushion are on the little details outside, and it reads WDW on the bottom.

My castle from Disney is CR*P!!!!! It is made from that cheapo plastic like all the Barbie cr*p. It falls apart into a million pieces. DD has had it one year this week and I am sure it will hit the dumpster before Christmas!

I saw a Cinderella Castle today at Sam's. It was a huge playset and I think it was around $90.00.

I just got back from WDW and almost bought the castle, but couldn't make up my mind. Now I'm kicking myself and wondering if there is any way I can still get one in time for Christmas. The castle at DW is smaller and includes quite a few characters, while the ones at toy stores are more Barbie size and I don't think they include the dolls. Plus, the fact that they're only available at DW makes them so much more desirable. (you always want what you can't have, right?)

The WDW goes with the monorail set that is a park exclusive. It's pretty cool, but it doesn't get actual "play" as we only get it out at Christmas :earsboy:

You can call Disney Merchandising 407-363-6200, tell them what it is, where you saw it and they can ship it to you.

Yeap, you can call and order the castle. The one from WDW is not like those chep plastic ones, this one is nice and it goes with the monorail, train station, CR, and others.

I have a pic of it, hold on.

OK, here is the pic. The interior looks just like the real one, the cindy chair and decorations. I love the mini glass slipper.

We called WDW and ordered it for my daughter's birthday in July. It came VERY quickly and was easy to order. She loves it and plays with it with her Princess Polly Pockets. It is very cute.

My DD got the Castle from her grandparents when they went to WDW almost 3 years ago. That thing is still going strong. I think it is worth it.

Thank you so much everybody for the info on the DW castle. My castle is on its way! Along with a few of those light up spinners. My kids love them and I thought it would be a great gift to have on hand. Santa is thrilled and my daughter will be too. :cheer2: :grouphug: :cheer2:

THanks for the posts! I will definitely be checking it out when we;re down there in a few weeks....of course hiding it will be the problem then! HA HA--guess I'll get it sent back to the resort & keep it hidden that way.

TELL me about the monorail...I've seen it @ Disney but haven't really looked into it - well I did briefly think about having it for a train around the Christmas tree instead of a regular train -but didn't really check to see if it was big enoough or anything. Where is yours set up?

I just wanted to warn everyone planning on ordering the castle from Disney Direct that it takes 10-15 business days for shipping and the operater said they're selling like hotcakes. If you want one for Christmas you'd probably want to do it soon.

I did the same thing last year. DD6 wanted it, but I figured I could buy it for Christmas when we got back home. I didn't know you can only buy it at WDW, and not at the Disney Store. Luckily, I have 2 co-workers who go down about 6 times/year. One of them was heading down over Thanksgiving, so she picked it up for me. That was all dd wanted. She said she'd rather have just that than 20 presents, so I was in a panic looking for it.
