Cinderella Castle Makeover (March through Summer 2020)

From recent information starting in next couple weeks through summer there will be a makeover of the castle. The castle will get golden adornments all over.

It's in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Cinderella movie.

Glad they are doing the makeover sooner rather than later. Several of the turrets are starting to look pretty darn faded in a not so good way.

Thats where I saw it but wasnt sure the filters in the forum.

The 70th I think just happens to be a good reason to get this done before the 50th next year.

Does anyone know if scaffolding will be up? Will the view of the castle be obstructed? I really would be upset for my summer trip if the castle is very obstructed.

That's our big fear - we will be there in late April.

I'm going in July-- unfortunately I can't see how they will make the changes without using scaffolding or some sort of obstruction.. wishful thinking, but maybe they can use a window washer type of platform rather than full on scrim?

Last year for our trip it was the ugly moat work. This year scaffolding (maybe). Ugh. Refurbs have to be done of course but it’s disappointing.

You can pretty much be sure there will be scaffolding on at least some part of the castle through this refurb. likely cranes as well. It's the only way to get up there to do the work. I am not thrilled. I don't love the whole pink and gold thing.

Sounds like it will be done by the fall so hopefully all will be clear in Dec. Looking forward to seeing it, although I am not sure about the new colors. The pink and dark blue don't seem like Cinderella colors to me.

I would consider the same also if it's severely obstructed.
