Cinderella Breakfast resies- E-Pay outrage

Well, in business, in a capitalist society, supply and demand does justify practically everything that is legal. However, it is completely up to WDW Dining to determine whether they want people reselling reservations -- I'm pretty sure they don't, and it sure seems like that they're taking steps in that regard.

I like how at the bottom of her add she added:

Disney dining has said I CAN CHANGE THE NAME on the PS if I want. I've already called to give it to another relative who now can't go.

Disney dining has told me THEY DO NOT ASK FOR ID. The last agent I spoke to specifically said they don't ask for it unless there are extraordinary circumstances like you don't have your confirmation number, they don't have your name at all or you have the exact same check in time as someone with the exact same name.

If she can easily change the name on the PS, then why would they care if they were asked for an ID? I'm glad she finally pulled the add anyway.

She responded to my email finally..

Sorry for being slow. I've been checking and
rechecking.

I've asked Disney Dining and they have repeatedly told
me:

1. they do not check ID.
2. and I can CHANGE the NAME on the PS

Granted I've never been lucky enough to get
Cinderella's breakfast, but I've never shown ID for my
lunches or dinner in the castle or any other PS.

I got the seating (PS) for my family. Now only me, 7
months pregnant, and my ovewhelmed 2 yro can go. I've
asked to gave it to my sister and Disney again said
they would change the name. (she can't go either.)

Yes I gave them a credit card to guarantee the seating
but I called again, to check in you need the
confirmation number. You can pay the bill anyway you
like.

I may withdraw this if there's too much confusion.

I hate to withdraw and cancel however since I went
through a great deal of effort to get one. If I
cancel then it will likely go unused, or get picked up
by someone who has no idea how difficult it is nor
appreciated it. Since it took me 6 trips to Disney to
get it, I think that is a terrible waste.

But my apologies, I may withdraw the auction since it
is so confusing.

this was posted on the ended auction...

"Funny, my short and to the point description has not been read by many people watching the auction. So I'm adding more.

But first, thanks to all the kind people who sent me info about the risk I am taking of getting charged as a "no show" with this priority seating (PS).

I don't like to add too much personal info since I think it sounds creapy and fake but I'm not sure how to answer some of the questions without it.

As for this PS, I've tried for years to get the Cinderalla breakfast. This time I got through when it was still available. Since multitudes of my relatives claimed they wanted to go with me, I made larger reservation. Now only me and 1 of my children can go.

Disney dining has said I CAN CHANGE THE NAME on the PS if I want. I've already called to give it to another relative who now can't go.

I've never had to show ID nor my credit card to get in to any PS for any meals I've had any where in Disney World, but again I've never been lucky enough to get the breakfast with Cinderalla.

Disney dining has told me THEY DO NOT ASK FOR ID. The last agent I spoke to specifically said they don't ask for it unless there are extraordinary circumstances like you don't have your confirmation number, they don't have your name at all or you have the exact same check in time as someone with the exact same name.

Personally, I've already paid a deposit more than auction price. I feel ill at the thought I cancelling. I think Disney may not reallocate what's left of my table, or if they do, then someone random caller will get it. They willl likely have no idea how lucky they were.

However, for all the people who have made scam comments, I don't want to try to do anything with the seating now since my credit card is attached to it"

They certainly told me this morning, that the name couldn't be changed and that they would check id......

No Matter :earsboy: I have CRT Ressies for Labor Day morning :cheer2:

Not to get in the middle of this or anything but....a couple things I noticed...1) the auction is over...looks like she pulled it...and 2)..I can kind of see where she is comming from...in trying to give someone else a chance...if she was looking to make money off it...she would have started the bidding higher...seeing that she has already paid the deposit...and wasn't asking for that back. It's not somehing I would do personaly....but for $10 to get a ps at crt...I'm sort of shocked no one did bid on it. Myself...I wouldn't of even thought of looking on e-bay for that sort of thing....but I guess they're right...you can find ANYTHING on e-bay.

The thing is though she will get the deposit back if she cancels the PS 24 hours in advance and then she is not out any money at all - IF she uses the PS the deposit amount is deducted from her total bill so again she is not out any money. Where if someone would have bid on it they would to had to pay her for the PS # then pay full price for the meal. Also this person could have sold the CRT PS in the auction get the money then turn around and cancel it - getting her deposit back plus getting the money from the auction and then the buyer would have been in for a shock when checking in for this PS. This woman was just being greedy and trying to make money on something she doesn't even own. I am sure she thought people would be bidding on this like crazy and she would make a few bucks. As far as starting the auction so low that is what lots of sellers do inhope of getting interest in their auction. I bet it surprised her to get so many emails about it NOT being transferrable, which the CM tells you when you make this PS and they do tell you to bring an ID for CRT. I bet she got a warning email from Ebay to pull it or they would. Obviously plenty of people emailed her and Ebay to complain - I am just glad that noone bid on this.

And I have to laugh about the comment she made about the PS going unused. During our trip there were plenty of families trying to get into CRT last minute. I talked to a couple families ( and I told them about the DIS so they would be prepared next time) - they said that they tried at 90 days out with no luck. They were just waiting for some one to cancel so that they could get in. It would not have gone unused that is for sure.

See.. that's what it's all about.. Someone who's been calling and calling and calling to get this ADR............. NOT bidding and bidding and bidding!!

She said "I think Disney may not reallocate what's left of my table, or if they do, then someone random caller will get it. They willl likely have no idea how lucky they were." More likely they WILL know how lucky there are to get it!! They have been trying for the past 3 months to get one!!

I hope that she finally cancels this ressie and opens it up to someone else. Anyone needing one for 5 people at 9:40 am June 11, 2005.????
I am sure she will be.... It's only 5 days away!! She'll want to get her deposit back. :earboy2:

That's right. To be justifiable it must at bare minimum be legal and because you used practically I assume you mean moral also. Hence it isn't justifiable by supply and demand alone. Yet too many just print supply and demand as if that justifies anything and everything in and of itself without the need for any other criteria. And the post I responded to initially said simply "supply and demand" without any such qualification.

This morning when I booked CRT for breakfast, they told me that I would have to have ID in the name of the reservation. I think that whoever ends up buying that reservation on Ebay will be very disappointed....

Never even considered...if she cancled the reservation a couple days before...those poor people who would have one the auction...would have shown up to CRT for their PS to only find out it was cancled.

I don't mean moral, because that would be redundant. If it was "immoral" for a company to do something, it would be illegal. Otherwise, there would be too much disagreement about what is and is not immoral: Clearly the company would apply its own standards, and rightfully so. The law ensures everyone applies a consensus set of morals.

Practicality includes many logistical considerations. For example, companies cannot change pricing the moment supply or demand changes. In many cases, demand changes aren't detected for a period of time. So practicality implies a latency.

So, supply, demand and logistics dictate pricing.

Wow! Maybe this should go over to the debate board... :rolleyes1

Probably a good idea. I'll keep an eye out for it there.

Legal most certainly does NOT equal moral.

For example:

It's legal for a company to sell tap water in pretty bottles and call it something vaguely exotic like.......say...... "Dasani" and sell it for $2.00 a bottle, but it's immoral. :rotfl:

Totally justified in a capitalist society, granted. But it just ain't right! :drinking:

Just curious...Did this person actually get anybody to buy this?? They might be in for a big surprise when they are turned away...what a shame for any children involved.

OOPS! My bad!! I just re-read the posts and see that the auction was cancelled. Good!

As in my previous post I did let management at Disney reservation center know what was going on. I do know that the information about the e-bay auction went to the head of Disney Dining Reservations about midmorning today. I do not know if the e-bay auction was pulled prior to my noifcation about the ebay auction or if the person selling the breakfast pulled it because of feed back from members of this board.

Thanks, Tink! :wizard:

Even if Disney has a "show id for reservation" policy, if the CM doesn't care, the CM doesn't care. Meaning, you CAN "luck out" and get a CM who simply doesn't ask for id. :sad2:

So, it just depends on who's working that day...
