We were at crt in 8/04. My sister used her cc to book the reservation and our name on the ps. When we arrived, my niece was not feeling well before we got on the monorail, they went to find a restroom while we headed to the castle. when we arrived at the castle dw gave her name(never asked for ps #) and that we were waiting on 2 more in our party. We then received a call from my sis that they would not make it. We told the hostess(?) that they were not coming and went up for our meal.When it came time to pay the bill, we were told that the $75 for the reservation was on the cc and the remainder was due. We paid the balance in cash and no one ever asked to see id or cc. So I guess if you did get this off ebay and got lucky that they didn't check u maybe ok. But I do not think we could ever do that knowing how hard it is to get a ps.

It would just be a chance on the buyer's part. They probably do not know the risk involved.
If anyone buys the CRT res, it may work. But it may not.
It would not be worth paying for a ADR and be hassled.
I can't imagine a CM turning a group away when there is an CRT ADR. But how would the CM know the actual ADR owner would not also arrive?
Or for that matter, how would the buyer know there really is a ADR? They wouldn't until they arrived.
Too risky, esp to pay for. For free, and with a Plan B in place, it would not be as big of a deal.

I wouldn't respond if I knew I was doing something wrong too!

Tammy, I have to say, I was outraged as well. I went on ebay out of curouisty and left MAD! What made me so mad was the fact that the seller seems to think she's is doing someone a favor? I sent the seller a question:
"How do you intend on transferring this reservation? The Reservation is secured with a credit card and tied directly to your name isn't it? Why don't you just cancel it and let another deserving family who has tried for years to get it the fair way?"

I'll let you know if I get a response?!?

Well we have ps reservations at Cinderella's Castle on our upcoming trip in July. I had to put down a 75 dollar deposit. I think she said after so many days ahead of time it was not refundable. So.......I would imagine the ebay seller will have to pay that deposit regardless of who goes for the reservations! That atleast makes me feel better

Unless they are on the dining program. They didn't even take a credit card # from me. Just my Ressie number for vacation with plus dining. Now I don't have to use the dining package to pay for it but I didn't have to leave a deposit either. I guess if I didn't show up they charge it to my room? I sent an email like I was going to bid if could she could tell how I was going to get around needing a picture ID and the wrong name on AR. I told her that I had to change my vacationtoo and this was the only AR I couldn't change too dates I'm now traveling etc.. I'll let you know what she says if she respones. It's really sad when things like this take the magic away. I actually gave up one ressie for CRT lunch so that some CHILD could enjoy meeting the princesses as it didn't matter to me (DS7 not interested either DD2 too young to get it) I just wanted to eat at the Castle. I changed to dinner so that some other child who really wants to meet Cinderella could.

Thank you everyone for your feedback and support. I felt a lot better after reading your comments. I am still amazed and disappointed that someone would do this but I sure do like the Diz attitude.

If someone buys it and then does not show up for the ressie, isn't she responsible for the $75? No where in the auction does it say the buyer has to have a credit card, or would any person in their right mind giver her their credit card number to this person in order to transfer it. I am sure the seller is just planning to hand over the reservation number and say "use my name when you check in". Therefore if someone were to buy it and then not show up.......well you get the idea. Bwaaaahhh haaa haa haa!

I just sent an email to Disney to see if there is anything they can do about this. Perhaps they can contact Ebay directly.

I'm sure if you send in a complaint to Ebay they would pull this auction. Also maybe there is a email to notify Disney - they would have it pulled immediately - People never cease to amaze me at what they try to sell.

THIS IS SO WRONG, I HOPE Ebay will take it off!!!

ok I promised an update if I got a response...if you are like me, still not happy. Here it goes anyway...
"It took me 6 years to get this and now I can't use it. I think if I cancel it, it will probably not get used or some deserving family will never know what they missed. Some lucky person, who has no idea how difficult it is will wind up getting it by dumb luck. I've already paid $30 and many sleepless mornings waking up and speed dialing long distance to get this. I was told, BY DISNEY DINING repeatedly, I could give it to my sister (i.e., I CAN CHANGE THE NAME) but she can't use it either. I would like someone who really appreciates it to get it."

LOL- she sure is full of it! She put a deposit of $30 down that she will get refunded if she cancels it within 24 hours - Do you notice that the auction ends 2 days before the bfast -so she can cancel it if she doesn't make any money off it. ANd the some derserving family speech - oh please like the people calling for cancellations do not derserve it cause they will not pay her for it - please if she really wanted it to go to some derserving family then she would cancel it pronto so someone else can call and get it. This woman knows exactly what she is doing - she is trying to make money off something she has no business making money on as she does not own it.

Not to get in the middle of this or anything but....a couple things I noticed...1) the auction is over...looks like she pulled it...and 2)..I can kind of see where she is comming from...in trying to give someone else a chance...if she was looking to make money off it...she would have started the bidding higher...seeing that she has already paid the deposit...and wasn't asking for that back. It's not somehing I would do personaly....but for $10 to get a ps at crt...I'm sort of shocked no one did bid on it. Myself...I wouldn't of even thought of looking on e-bay for that sort of thing....but I guess they're right...you can find ANYTHING on e-bay.

Not everything is justifiable by supply and demand alone. Society and the agents involved must override pure hedonism on certain things or society degenerates into a wilderness. Whether this is such a thing is open to debate but the blanket statement supply and demand is NEVER enough in and of itself to ethically justify an action.
