Hey Guys! We haven’t been to CRT in a few years... but my DD requested to go on her birthday trip in November. Has anyone been to breakfast recently? How is it? Is the food still AYCTE? Thanks so much!

The food is not AYCTE. It is like $50 per person for some eggs and bacon or a couple of pieces of french toast. Luckily, my waiter took pity on me and "accidentally" ordered two helpings for me. The ambiance is nice there, but expect to leave moderately satisfied, but in the mood to eat lunch within the next few hours, and probably somewhere cheap.

I've only done lunch, but never left hungry. It isn't AYCTE, you pick items off the menu in the beginning of the meal. I think it's a fun experience dining in the castle and your daughter will enjoy meeting all the princesses.

I've seen photos of CRT breakfast plates when doing research, and one serving looks like a healthy portion size. I'd love to know how much people eat at home based on complaints of meal portion size at Disney and the expectation of mountains of food.

Hehe. 260 pound powerlifter here, so I may be on the high end of protein eaters. My wife and children were happy with the meal sizes, so maybe don't take my dietary opinions too seriously. I also just did double dinners on our most recent cruise.

When we went back about 6 years ago, I had steak and eggs, and it was excellent! At that time it was AYCTE, so I tried the yogurt as well, although couldn’t finish it. I did see the current menu, just didn’t know if it was still as good as I remember. Thanks to all of you!!!!!!

Haha I hear you. I'm at the gym 5 days a week myself (although I'm a minuscule 185 - I guess I need to step it up). But there are some people here who complain the amount of food at a buffet isn't enough :) so I get grumpy about the "not enough food" posts. Maybe I need a vacation from the internet.

Portions are definitely on the smaller side, but tasty. I enjoyed the steak and eggs when we went two years ago, I think it was a filet. My husband, who enjoys AYCTE, says you don't go for the food, you go for the atmosphere. popcorn::

I get it, but for that price, the food better be good!!! LOL

It beats paying $25 for 2 Eggo waffles at BOG :rotfl:I know a lot of people complain about the food at CRT but I find it to be decent. It's not at the level of other signature restaurants, but we all know CRT isn't classified as a signature for the food.

I’m a Baloo-sized heavy eater, particularly when it comes to breakfast, and I’ve always found CRT’s portions to be enough for me, especially when you factor in the pastry platter provided for the table. I’ll admit that there are times I wish I could sub the potatoes in the traditional breakfast for more bacon, but otherwise I’ve always left CRT satisfied.

That said, if you’re looking for the best combination of meeting Princesses and getting hefty amounts of food, Akershus is the way to go over CRT. You don’t get the castle setting, but the food is AYCTE.

I say go for CRT, even if the food is lacking in my opinion. The quality was still good, especially the pastries if I remember correctly, and you are not paying their high fees for the food anyway. Your daughter will love getting to get called to climb the stairs to the top of the castle, and getting to meet the princesses while overlooking fantasyland. I think my son enjoyed our visit there even more than my daughter because he got a kiss from Jasmine, and still plays with the toy sword that he got as keepsake from our meal.
Not a meal to be had every time you visit, but it is something you cannot duplicate elsewhere.

Thats assuming the daughter is young. I once posted a suggestion for a "daughter" only to find out a few posts later that the "daughter" was 35 !!!

Well, as long as the daughter is requesting the visit to the restaurant, I am assuming that these are the things she is looking forward to. There can still be a kid in any adult!

LOL yes, she's requesting to go. She went the first time at around age 4, and now she asked if we can go again when we go in December for her 11th Birthday. I don't mind it, if that's really what she wants to do. Just wanted to make sure it's still worth the trip.

It still worth the trip. I think the breakfast is good and keeps my whole family full for most of the day. We end up skipping lunch and having an early dinner.
