Hi,

I hope you can help me. I'm looking for a Cinderalla dress that doesn't hurt. DD loves to be Cinderalla but all the dresses I have seen so far for her, she said they hurt her when she wears them (I think it's because of the stiff tulle). The only one that seems to be okay is the one from Costco but that one is way too big for her. She'll 3 and pretty petti. I went to Target, Walmart, Disney and toyrus already. Do you know any where else? Thanks.

Hi Wen,
I can't help you with finding one that won't hurt because so many are like that, but I can help with the ones that do but only if you sew? Or maybe you know someone who does?
Anyway, my suggestion is to buy about a yard of soft cotton fabric- fold it in half lengthwise (this will save you from hemming and should be more than long enough) then turn the dress inside out and measure how long you will need it to be depending on whether you want it to show at the bottom or not. Cut off what you don't need and then sew 2 gathering stitches at the top - pull the threads and gather to fit, sew the seam in the back and pin in place- then whipstitch it over the top of the tulle so none of it will touch her skin. This will also make her skirt even fuller and prettier.
P.S. Depending on how far down it opens in the back you may not need to sew a seam in the entire back just up to where it opens and simply whipstitch the openings together.

I hope this helps you and makes sense, if not, or if you have any questions here's my email kelsnel@msn.com.

How about wearing a leotard under it? I bought a white one for my DD to wear under her Tinkerbell costume for Halloween in case it's chilly out.

That's what we had to do. DD hates anything elastic or lacey touching her. So I got a one piece white leonard and pushed up the pants a little so they wouldn't be seen.

...it's just the price us women have to pay to look beautiful! princess:

We (atleast my Mart) has 2 versions of the Cinderella dress in currently- One is the basic new version for 19.77 and the other is a "Deluxe" version for 25- Not sure if either would work

My daughter was very fabric sensitive when she was on chemo and one of the few things she'd wear was the DL Cinderella dress (this was 5 years ago though)

Id personally suggest a leotard or something equivelent- I know they make "skin colored" ones you can buy through dance studios and companies.
