Cind. Royal Table breakfast soon to be 2 table credits, I'm mad!

As of February the Princess Character Breakfast in the castle in Magic Kingdom is going to count as 2 table service meals. This makes no sense to me and makes me think the plan is not worth it. I just don't get it, lots of other restaurants that are 1 credit cost more than that breakfast such as Alfredo's in Epcot which is just 1 credit. My meal at Alfredo's could be $35 just for the entree alone and the breafast is less than $25....why make it 2 table credits....grrrrrrrrr. This make sense to anyone?

Yes, it does make sense to me.

she married a prince.......so I'm guessing yes........

Mulan did not marry a prince, she married a General in the Imperial Army. He was not royal blood. But, who cares, if she's there, that's cool.

Well, I'm not sure they want to really focus too much on facilitating last-minute cancellations. One major aim of allowing folks to cancel would be so they can rebook the reservation with another patron. I'd like to see them craft the policy so that folks are expected to cancel the day before, or risk losing their deposit. That might adversely affect folks who have unexpected things come up during the day, but I believe that shifting that risk to each individual patron benefits all patrons overall.

WDW currently does this with CA Grill. You need to make your cancelation by 24 hours prior or you are charged $25 per person on your CC.

I was upset too because I already had everything planned out, but what can you do? The funny thing for me is that there is basically nothing there that we can eat other than my husband. We don't eat meat or eggs, so I will get to use 2 TS credits for a cheese danish! LOL! My kids have to eat at the castle though, this is our first time ... and it is THE thing I remember from going there when I was a kid. Why can't they at least have a bagel!? Come on! There is so much more we will be able to eat at 1900 Park Fare! I am actually excited to go there and eat. hehe! But I have a 7yo Princess lover and a little boy who fawns over the castle everytime the commercial is on tv ... so it will be wonderful I am sure.

I think the price for CRT is outrageous, but I am not _mad_ about it. I am just not choosing to go there anymore! Its funny because I didn't even think the breakfast was worth it when we paid $19.99 per adult!!! I ate one chocolate muffin!! That's all. Oh well, we went to see the princesses and not for the food. Glad we did it then because I won't be going back any time soon.

Help me understand: how is it WDW fault that you went to a sit down (ask for as much as you like) meal and eat a muffin and then be mad that you paid for what was offered to you?

It seems that you chose to eat only the muffin, not that for $19.99 that was all they gave you. One must be fair.

I think that's why WDW offers options. Everyone has the option to go if they care to make a ressie, or to go and eat in their room, their hotel, another hotel or at the parks. It seems that WDW gives people many options.

Also, the meal offers fresh fruit cocktail, mixed assortment of muffins and pastries, mashed potatoes and french toast (along with eggs and meat).
The staff would be willing to give you a large bowl of fruit, if you incline to ask. :)

I have a question about CRT. I would love to do this next time as all DS wanted to do for the 16 days we were there was go in the castle. I do not have my own credit card so it was a problem last year as you had to give them card details and it had to be the same card as the person it was booked in. Now that you are paying in full upfront would this be a problem to book on my fathers card in my name? Also if you are planning on getting the DDE card will they just refund the 20% discount to the card, and also what would happen if you were using the DDP, would they again just refund the card?

Thanks

Aren't the princesses at the castle at lunch too? I thought there was a character lunch as well. If you can't eat the meat or eggs, the lunch menu might be a better choice and you'll still see the princesses and the castle.

I'm doing this from memory so I may be wrong.

Carrie: Are you a vegan, then? You can always contact the restaurant in advance and they will prepare something for you to eat. There is no reason to pay all that money and not eat anything!

I agree! And she's certainly a far better role model for young ladies who will someday enter a fiercely competitive world where waiting for Prince Charming to take care of them forever is certainly not a good plan. IMHO, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, and Pocohantas are by far the best movies that Disney has ever brought to the table for girls. They finally showed women as smart, independent, competitive in a man's world, and able to stand up for their beliefs.

I'm sorry but did you even READ what I wrote??? Where did I say in my post that I was MAD at Disney????? My exact words were that I didn't feel it was WORTH IT. I never said that I was mad. I CHOSE to go there knowing that I would eat only a muffin, but I did it for my girls. I also said that the price is at point such that I will be making a different decision from now on. I was willing to pay $19.99 for my muffin and for my girls' few bites, but I am not willing to pay $32.

Please, before you flame me, read what is actually written. :flower3:

I don't know about using your dad's credit card and having it in your name but there is no longer 20% DDE discount starting Feb 1.

If you do the DDP plan then they'd just take your credit card number to keep it on file in case you do not show up or cancel...they will charge your credit card then.

I totally got what you were saying! :goodvibes It wasn't really worth the old price, let alone the new one!!! I did eat more then you did but my DD ate NOTHING but I knew that going in and I chose to go so it's my own fault. I don't blame Disney one bit for that. I've had my fill of the Castle and now with the new prices, we're done.

I don't blame anyone whose never been, though, for wanting to try it out at least once even with the new prices...but from now on I'll eat at PSB where it's $10 cheaper to eat with the princesses.
