Cicadas

I haven’t seen or heard them so far this year. Not sure if this Is one of the bigger years around here.

Not yet, however with extreme heat warning this week might hear them.

The KC metro has been spared this. The yearly ones will be the ones we'll hear eventually as the summer goes on but not the two broods that are the issue this year.

We actually just visited KC and were shocked that you have none! We didn't run into any cicadas until like an hour and a half outside St. Louis on our way back. Then the bloodbath began

It's very weird honestly but I'll take it!

Haven't seen or heard them here in southern Michigan yet.

Thought I heard we weren't in the zone to be hit with the onslaught. I will be a very happy girl if that's the case.

While visiting my mom this weekend I was so surprised to see fishflies already out in heavy numbers. They usually make their first hatch around Father's Day timeframe. Wonder if that means this will be one of the years where there are three or more heavy cycles. Yuck!
