If you get an email saying "CIBC - IMPORTANT MESSAGE - UPDATE" asking you to click a link and update your account

!! DO NOT CLICK !!

I got one - I don't have a CIBC account so I knew it wasn't real. I did a little investigating (looked at the email source) and lo and behold if you click on the link you're actually taken to a page looks a whole like like CIBC but isn't. The page is in fact:

http://www.laziblues.com/update.htm

The main page of the site is for a British Shorthair cattery.

I make it a rule in my house to never click on links in emails...unless I am expecting them-from people I know. I used to have a post-it right on the computer for the kids to remind them, too. My DS, though, living away from home, did click on a link....virused up his computer, and had to reformat. :(

Man, their grammar sucks, too:

"Please note that your personal information must be identical to information on your reports/ratios of invoicing. Your personal information will be sent firmly by the intermediary of a connection of SSL, quantified so that it cannot be obtained by the thirds."

Reminds me of www.engrish.com :rotfl2:
