Chuck and Lynn Go to Mousefest! New 5/4!

It was so fun to see the pictures of Lynn getting her surprise!

Chuck made me laugh until I cried with his description of the Disney Bus Experience.

Hi Chuck & Lynn! I finally made it over here! :yay: I just looked through all of the pre-trip photos and I've gotta say, they are amazing! You've really taken some beautiful pictures, Chuck! I especially love the one of the Epcot Arch - Lights of Winter. :lovestruc Sorry you were sick on your B-day, Lynn. Sounds like we were both sick at the same time. Happy be-lated Birthday. I've still gotta catch up on what you've posted since you've been back, but I wanted to let you know that I'm here and I'll be reading along! :surfweb: I'll have a lot more time to catch up after we get back next week.

Take care,
Michelle

That was really sweet of Heather to leave you the Jungle Book pin. Looking forward to more of the trip.

All caught up - great report as always!

We stayed at CBR once and must have been in the same room you had - I think we were the furthest possible from the main building. Pretty resort but man, that was quite the walk!

You mentioned bringing a pin list next time - I just made myself one a few days ago since we came home with a duplicate on this last trip also.

Love the Jungle Book pin - what a sweet surprise from a friend!

Looking forward to more! :goodvibes

That is so super sweet of Heather! What a nice gesture and what a cool pin! Of course, Jungle Book is one of my favorite Disney films -- I can never get enough Bagheera or Shere Khan!

I have a special place in my heart for the Jungle Book! It is a very special gift.

What a thoughtful gift from Heather. :goodvibes It makes me want to go watch Jungle Book!

That make me think I haven't watched The Jungle Book in awhile either.... Hmm It's a good movie day.

I'm gald you enjoyed it. And thanks so much again! It made me feel so special.

Thanks so much for reading! I can't believe you are going back next week. We were down last January and it was freezing. Pack for all weather! I hope you have a great time!

Hey! It was sweet, wasn't it? Hopefully we'll have more trip report soon!

I'm trying to come up with some sort of pin list with pictures and names, but that's small enough for my bag. I'm still working on it. If I come up with something good, I'll share. :)

Thanks everyone for reading along!!!

Day One Part Six

I took the nap only with the promise that we would try to get up in time to see the last set of Off Kilter that day. Then I slept! I know this may be normal for some people, but when we are at WDW, I find it hard to sleep at night much less during the day. This was a very different trip for me.
We headed over to EPCOT and were able to make Off Kilter’s last set. It was so good to see the boys again. Believe it or not, I took no pictures. (A little indication of how tired I was.) We walk leisurely around World Showcase, admiring the decorations and trying to survive the crush of people surrounding the Candlelight Processional.
We stopped in at Norway to get some School Bread for supper. (yeah, real healthy.) I didn’t take a picture of it, but Chuck remember to take a picture of the light.

There was no place to sit, so we stood by the lagoon and shared it. It was a nice moment.

Chuck had brought his tripod for Illuminations so we searched for a spot. The wind was really starting to pickup and my ear was aching terribly. We found a spot before Canada to watch but Chuck really wanted to try to get his normal Canada spot. He told me to wait there and if he didn’t come back in a few minutes, give up the spot and find him. I told him I would count to 300. I counted to 500, then went to look. He had lucked out and gotten his spot! I was really starting to feel rough. The wind was not helping so I went to sit on a bench. It was still an hour until Illumniations. I knew I wouldn’t make it. I told him I was going back. Of course, he said he would go with me, but I told him to stay and take all the shots he liked and I would get a nice warm bath and rest for the next day. He agreed. Holiday Illuminations is one of his favorite things.

Here are just a few of his shots form that night.

Another beautiful night at EPCOT!

While Chuck was enjoying uninterrupted picture taking time, I was having my own adventure.

First let me give you a little background. Chuck had filled up my MP3 player with WDW podcasts for the drive down. On one of the podcasts, WDW Today, one of the host told about his sister riding the bus to get time stats and staying on so long that the bus driver forgot she was there until she realized she was being taken somewhere off the busline!

Okay, back to my story. It didn’t take long for a bus to come, but we had two ECV and lots of people standing including me. It is not easy to stand on one of those buses with an inner ear infection. (Let's face it, I have trouble standing on the buses anytime.) I felt so sorry for the poor ECV lady. I kept falling on her or either she was having to look at my butt! Luckily for her, she was off at stop number one. Of course the bus was so full, we standers had to get off to let the EVCs off, but it was a little better and I wasn’t falling on strangers. By stop number three, I had a seat. The bus got emptier and emptier. By stop number five I was nervous. At stop number six, everyone got off but me. I sat up really straight and tried to make eye contact with the driver so he knew I was there. Luckily, stop number seven was mine. (and the last stop.) He stopped and I got off.

Off. All Alone. In the dark. If you consult the map, you will see that our bus stop is at the next building over from ours. That left me walking alone at night, through the gardens to a building where no one else in staying but me. Suddenly every episode of 48 Hours or Cold Case ran through my head. “She left for a early night in and no one ever saw her again. Tonight on Dateline.”

Of course, I was okay. I made it safely to my room, had a nice bath, read some and slept until Chuck came in. Just another adventure at the CBR.

A Sunday update from Lynn! I am in heaven!!!

If you can't eat whatever you want, whenever you want at WDW, when can you? School bread for dinner is perfectly acceptable.

That light in Norway -- it looks like a Saint Lucia wreath! How cool!

I have serious Illuminations picture envy! Chuck got some fantastic photos!

I was laughing at your trip back to your room, because I so recognized my own paranoias in it. I would have been thinking the exact same thing the whole time!!! Glad you made it back safely.

Oh my goodness that would have made me nervous on the bus too! :scared: Very glad you made it back safe and sound. I still can't get over that there was no one else in your building!

Sorry you were feeling icky. Hopefully the bath helped.

Chuck's Illuminations pics are great. And love that he has caught the light fixture bug! ;)

How nice of Heather to send you that present. Very sweet. I haven't seen Jungle Book in forever... think I may have to fix that. And your stuffed animals look so cute on the bed!

Lastly Chuck's bus description has me rolling with laughter this morning... I needed that!

Sorry that you had to stick your butt in that ladys face!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I always worry about that and my arm pitt!

How sweet of Heather to get you a gift delivered and I too would have been nervous walking home alone, glad you were safe :goodvibes

Chuck, you got beautiful pictures of Illuminations!!

I love the picture of the Norway Light, that was one of my favorite ones on our trip and I love seeing it decorated for the Holidays. :goodvibes

Lynn, I would have been thinking the same exact thing on the bus! I get freaked out easily. I'm glad you made it back safe and sound.

AWWW, thanks! I'm glad you understood my fear. I thought maybe I was overreacting.

I'm glad Chuck stayed and got the photos. I think they were some of his best!

I wondered if anyone would notice my animals. I couldn't leav home without a couple of friends!:)

Beautiful pictures of Illuminations!

Thanks! Chuck is the best!

I think about that too, especially in the summer. I'd like to think maybe we all smell and it doesn't matter so much.

How sweet of Heather to get you a gift delivered and I too would have been nervous walking home alone, glad you were safe :goodvibes

Heather is a sweet friend! How is your Mickey Mom thing going? Your trip report was amazing!!! I REALLY wish I could afford that decorating the room thing. I'm scared to think how much it costs.

Lynn, I would have been thinking the same exact thing on the bus! I get freaked out easily. I'm glad you made it back safe and sound.

I was trying not to freak out, but watching the bus roll away and how dark it got so suddenly, CREEPY!!!!

I'm glad you liked the light! It was prettier than the school bread, but not as tasty!!

I can't even walk down my (very safe) street at night without being nervous - I would have been a mess! :scared1: I'm glad you were ok, and that you got some rest. The only time I've ever been really sick at WDW was at CBR (granted, it was 17 years ago and I was on spring break my senior year of high school). I had a sinus infection - I remember floating in the pool to ease my achiness. I guess, in a way, if you have to be sick you might as well be in WDW... ;)

Great pictures! Those are the kind that my husband wanted to get with our little tripod in September. There were two many kids moving around (most of them ours) to do it, though. :rotfl2: He'll be jealous when I show him. Keep up the updates - I'm still wondering about the shorts story .popcorn::

Great update Lynn! So sorry to hear you were sick and had to leave early that night...glad you made it back safe and sound, I was nervous reading it, too!!! I watch too many of those shows.:happytv: Beautiful pictures, Chuck!! You really do a nice job!!! And what a nice gift from Heather, soo thoughtful!!! Looking forward to hearing the next installment...hint, hint!!:cutie:

For the most part, I feel very safe in Disney World. However, it would have creeped me out to some degree to be out there in a building all alone. I would have imagined an axe murderer behind every tree. Most likely, I would have gone to the main building and hung out taking pictures until someone else could go to the room with me, so you were braver than I would have been.

Nice Illuminations pictures!

I didn't think of floating in the pool for my ear! WDW was not a bad place to be sick as long as it wasn't "I can't get out of bed" sick.
I'll pass your compliments on to Chuck about the pics!

I felt bad leaving Chuck, but I knew I'd just bring him down. I didn't realize that meant I'd be alone in the dark walking to our room.

Nice Illuminations pictures!

The funny thing is I think that was the first time I've actually been alone at WDW....at all. I always have at least one person with me. It was a strange feeling.

Thanks everyone for reading! Hopefully another update is coming soon.
