Chubby Thighs and PROUD!

If I am going to be out lately (it has been so hot) I have been putting anti-persperant on the small of my back. I hate when it gets all sweaty there. Also, ok this is embarrassing but, along the line where the edge of your underwear are. Works great and your clothes, underwear don't get all sweaty.

I use spray-on Secret anti-persperant liberally everywhere that even might chafe, including my bare feet in sandals. It works great, even in 90 degree weather :sunny: .

I have suffered from this my entire life, and have just delt with it by not wearing certain clothing when I know I will be walking a lot. As you imagine, this is very difficult. I think I'm going to try some of these products!
But I have a silly question....do these products feel slimy and such?? I don't want to feel all slippery and self concsious about it!

Great ideas. We have been having record highs the past few weeks so these tips will come in handy now and on my trip to WDW. Thanks.

Chubby thighs and sweaty breasts...how glamorous!!
I always tell my DBF and my DB, NEVER wish you were a woman! Life for us is so gross! :rotfl2:

I just got back from WDW a few days ago and I swear by Bodyglide. I used it on my thighs and feet and it really worked well.

Seriously. Like the oft joked about (by guys) "monthly" issues aren't enough, but we get to have a whole thread devoted to chubby thighs and breast sweat. Ah, the sexy life of women.

I wrangled up some BodyGlide (had to track it down at a local bike shop) and bought some of the Monistat cream. (DFiance seemed alarmed when I headed down the feminine products aisle with him in tow, I think he's afraid other men will see him there and laugh.) Hopefully this will be a relatively painless WDW trip.

I adore the Monistat Anti-Chafing Powder Gel. I also have the powder version. Has anyone used the gel on their feet to prevent blisters? I always have a huge blister problem despite what I wear (even Crocs! Agh!). I've heard putting deoderant on them can help stop blisters from forming.

I used Bodyglide on my feet and I only got one blister between my toes (where I didn't put the Bodyglide, in all fairness, it happened during the Family Magic tour and we hopped, skipped and pretended to fly thru most of MK in an hour and a half). I put my Airwalks (Payless version of Crocs) on later that night to help relieve the blister pain and they made my back, legs and feet hurt from lack of support. Bodyglide does help with blisters and with thigh rub, but I'd say don't forget between the toes.

The Monistat gel works wonderfully (used it in the July heat of Vegas--no blisters). I've been using Secret Invisible Solid deodorant for "chubby thigh" chafing! Works great!!

For blisters on the feet, a dermatologist can prescribe an aluminum hydroxide solution (essentially very concentrated anti-perspirant). You put this on the feet before bed every night for 10 days, and for about a month, your feet will NOT sweat. No sweat, no blisters. I do this before every Disney trip.

Also, guys can get "crotch rot" at Disney. Walking around in wet shorts can lead to jock itch. i recommend taking some anti-fungal spray.

Any ideas on what to do about heat rash? I have a tendency to get heat rash when I go in the summertime. It starts around my ankles and works it's way up to my calves. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I love this thread! All this time I've suffered in silence. Tried talcum powder but it didn't stay on long and who wants to carry a bottle of baby powder to the parks.

Note to self: try bodyglide and secret antiperspirant

You have saved me a great deal of torture. :goodvibes

Are you sure that is heat rash and not an allergic reaction to a sunscreen or something??? Heat rash usually occurs on parts of the body where heat and moisture are trapped. Heat rash is due to the skin sweating and not being able to cool anevaporate. If you really do suffer from heat rash, do not apply anything that may trap moisture to the skin....no anti persperants or body glide or anything oil based. Keep yourself as dry and cool as possible and use a cortisone cream (not ointment) to heal the itching/rash after showering.

In the heat always wear light natural fibers (cotton) keep yourself as cool dry and hydrated as possible.

I am a bit confused by the title of this thread :confused3 Why would anyone be proud of being overweight?

i did the Monistat gel for a quick one day trip to Disneyland in september and it worked great. I am going to try to track down some bodyglide before our 5 day trip to DL next month and switch off each day to see which one works best. Which ever keeps me most comfortable will go with us to Disneyworld in december.

Hmm interesting.
I've never tried those products before, but when I was younger I used to always wear bike shorts, which were not that attractive.
In recent years when the bermuda style of shorts came out, I was like Thank God. I love the longer length of these shorts because I don't have to worry about my thighs getting sore and they're stylish!

I have used Body Glide for several trips and I love it. This past trip I pool hopped to the BW and I forgot it so I tried my deoderant- it worked with the chafing but didn't help the shorts riding up issue as much, so I still prefer the Body Glide.

Who knew I would talk about this with strangers :rotfl2:

I used body glide every morning on my recent trip. I had one for my feet and one for my thighs. I don't know if it worked but I know I was completely comfortable all day long, no reapplication and that is all I need to know.

I bought mine at my local Eastern Mountain Sports, I think they also have it at places like REI, Dicks or you can purchase it online. I found it in the bicycle section, actually right when I walked in the door at my local store.

I also brought some of the Monistat mentioned, got a freebie tube thanks to the freebie threads on the budget board but I have not used that yet.
